Hardware for PBX with 4 incoming/outgoing lines and 20 phones
Hi
I am interested in setting up an Asterisk PBX in my office with digium
hardware, and I just have a few questions in regards to what I would
need. It is my understanding that an FXO card is used to interface with
an incoming/outgoing phone line, and an FXS card is used for interfacing
with a phone within the system. Currently we have 4 incoming/outgoing
phone lines and would like to have

Newbie Questions . . .
Hello all.
My company currently has an older Executone PBX system that we are outgrowing.
Rather than wait until the last minute to make a hasty decision, I thought it
would be a good idea to do some research and compare options first. My
expertise is in computers and networking, and telephony systems are mostly
foreign to me.
What we currently have are 5 incoming POTS lines and 25

Grandstream GXP2000 resetting all the time
All,
I have AAH 1.0 installed using Digium TDM04B and Grandstream GXP2000 phones.
All seems well other than the phones have to be reset up to 5 times per day.
It is like they lose thier ip connection or maybe thier SIP connection. Has
anyone else experienced this issue? I have the phones set for static IP
addresses and that doesnt seem to help either. Any help would be greatly

TDM40B and weird analog problem
OK, I have a Asterisk @ Home 1.0.7 server with two Digium TDM400 cards, one 4
port FXO and one 4 port FXS. When I plug an analog cordless phone into the
TDM40B card and setup a ZAP extension, the phone rings in and you can answer
just fine. The weird part is when you try to get dialtone from the cordless
handset it rings all of the other extensions... One other thing to mention is
that the

Asterisk @ Home Voicemail
OK, here's the setup, AAH 0.8, Grandview 2000 phone, Digium TDM04B interface to
POTS lines. Everything seems to be working just fine, but I have some
questions on how to access voicemail options. I can leave a message for an
extension, but when I try to retrieve it by using *97 it asks for the password
and even though I type in the same password I gave the extension for vmail, it

FXS static and noise problem
Hi:
I have one TDM40B and one TDM04B on my Asterisk box.
Both were working fine. Then, all of the FXS ports
started to make echo sounds when I make FXS to IAX or
SIP connection. All of the FXS ports fail to make
bridging to the FXO channels. And when I try to make a
call from the console to the FXO ports, I only hear
static noise.
Any suggestions about the source of the sudden change

Placing Asterisk between existing PBX and PSTN
Hi,
I've read through the Asterisk handbook and I'd just like clarification
from someone that's implemented the above before. Lets imagine I want to
use the CallingCard application and don't want to tell a client to buy a
channelbank (the analog extensions are too many to connect to FXS cards),
I figure I could set them up as below:

TDM04B
Hi,
I recently got a TDM04B and after installing and getting asterisk up and
running I connected a handset to one of the ports. Unfortunately I don't
get a dial tone when I lift the handset.
What could be the cause of this?
Could someone point me in the direction of a proper config for a TDM04B?
Thanks.

Random dropped calls...
I have a customer running Asterisk 1.2.13 with Zaptel 1.2.11 that is
having calls dropped. Sometimes you can stay on the phone for a long
time and sometimes the call is dropped within a minute.
There are 9 lines connected to 3 TDM04B cards. The Panasonic Pbx we
replaced did not have this problem. There are 8 SIP phones and 16
analog phones connected to two Astribank-8 units and everyone

*@Home/Grandstream Call Transfer
OK, now this should be really simple, but I am a bit of a newbie so please bear
with me. I have an *@Home box setup with TDM04B and two POTS lines. On the
SIP side, I have GXP2000 phones. Most things seem to work, but the users
cannot figure out how to transfer incoming calls from one extension to
another. Now I am not sure that I have things setup correctly, but is there

Asterisk voicemail problem with isdn avm fritz!card
Hello everyone,
I have Asterisk SVN-trunk-r7498 installed on a server (celeron 2.4 Ghz,
256MB) with a TDM40b a TDM04b and an avm fritz!card pci.
I experience a problem with voicemail: my messages are good unless the
incoming call comes from isdn, which means via the avm fritz!card. In
this case (and in this case only) the message is disjointed and I can
hear at most 1 second out of a 1 minute

US CallerID and TDM04B
Hello All,
I have new TDM04B installed and working fine with Asterisk 1.0.5 built on RedHat 9.
All is working fine except CallerID that bothers me big time.
I have several Panasonic and Sony phones and CallerID works fine with it (when I plug in the line into phone instead into Asterisk I get CallerID) but fails with Asterisk.
I am based in California (San Francisco) and my Telco is SBC

Zaptel configuration for Argentina
I'm having some trouble dialing phone numbers in Argentina with Digium Zaptel
cards. Does anyone have some sample configuration that works with Digium
TDM04B cards in Argentina? I'm mainly referring to the /etc/zaptel.conf
and /etc/asterisk/zapata.conf.
I have two Zaptel cards: the first one has 1 FXS port and 3 FXO ports; the
second one has 4 FXO ports.
My current configuration is

TDM400P GroundStart Problems
Hello,
I am having problems configuring a TDM400P 4 Port FXO card with
groundstart signalling. The box has 2 X100P's, 1 TDM04B and 1 TDM40B. I
can configure it for loopstart and it works, just not groundstart, which I
need for this installation. What am I missing?
Thanks!

Upgrade 4 to 8 Analog Lines Question
Hello
I have an office with a T1 that provides 4 (out of 8) analog PSTN
lines thru an adtran board. I want to add 4 more analog lines.
Currently I have a Digium TDM40B. I'm wondering what the best
upgrade path is, where I define 'best' as the solution that
is most likely to work without problems (like interupt conflicts)
and work with my current echo tuning .

how to manage Digium TDM04B outgoing calls correctly
I'm installing my first Asterisk server. I have a TDM04B card installed
in my asterisk server (4x FXO ports). I have 5 Cisco IP phone 7960
working fine on asterisk using SIP. My configuration to receive call is
working as expected meaning anyone calling on one of the 4 FXO ports is
answer by asterisk and asked to enter the extension of the person to
reach and then it is transfer on the

Weird Echo Problem
Ok I know I'm not the only one having echo problem with asterisk but the
weird thing is that when I receive a call from a PSTN line on my TDM04B
card I don't have any echo problem at the beginning of the call then
after a few minutes I start having echo on my side only (the person
calling from a regular phone doesn't have any echo), then it stop and
come back all the way until the

Digital Line Distortion
Firstly, the problem...
Ever since I installed and setup asterisk, I have had various problems,
initially it was echo caused by the ISDN (isdn4linux) card I was using.
So, I upgraded to the X101P from digium. I still had echo, so I figured
it was also caused by the ATA186 (cisco) I was using. So, I upgraded
again to the TDM40B quad FXS card. This solved pretty much all my
problems, except
