Polycom IP500 problem updating bootrom
I've had an IP300 for a while now and it's been working fine. I just got an IP500 and when it connects to the FTP server it downloads the new bootrom and says error loading. The bootrom is fine and works on the 300... In addition, I downloaded a new copy to be sure and it still doesn't work. Can anyone give me some advice?

Polycom IP600 - Worth the extra $$
Hello, I am looking at the Polycom phones. The ip600 has a very nice screen, is that the only real advantage over the ip500 and ip300.. Is it worth the extra dollars? MWI not working on Polycom Phones
Hi All - I'm running version SIP version 1.3.4 on various IP300, IP500, and IP600 Polycom phones. I'm having a tough time with MWI. I thought I remembered somebody on the list saying that they had it working, but I can't find it in the archives now. I have all the phones configured for MWI as specified in the WIKI: ipdmid.cfg: up.oneTouchVoiceMail="1"

hints and polycom IP 300 phones
Hi all, I've just updated to current CVS, and have 2 polycom IP phones, one is a IP600 and the other is a IP300. The IP600 shows the status of the IP300 and a ZAP line quite nicely, but the IP300 won't show the status of the IP600.... Is there any additional debug apart from "show hints" to see why this might not be working ?? -= Registered Asterisk Dial Plan Hints =-

Asterisk , ISA Firewall/VPN , STUN and other issues
I have just finished compiling and installing Asterisk on a test Debian system. All is working well. We are now attempting to get remote offices to test the system I have installed both a SIP and an IAX client at a remote office. Then I connect to our office via Microsoft ISA firewall and the Windows XP VPN client. Neither of the softphones will connect. On the IAX softphone I just get a ringtone

Polycom Buddies in 1.6.6
All, Slightly off topic. Polycom released their SIP software version 1.6.6 for their phones recently. I was under the impression that this release fixed a previous limitation where the phones would only watch 7 buddies, ie send 7 sip subscriptions to Asterisk. I have configured a phone directory to watch 30 or so appearances, and it still seems to only be sending 7 subscriptions to Asterisk.

Users handbook
At the most recent project I completed I have to post a intranet web page with instructions on using the system and phones. Asterisk is 1.07 stable and the phones are Polycom IP300, IP500, and IP600. Has anyone done an Astersik users guide? Something non-technical but covering most of the features an office worker would use. If nothing exists, should we develop this as a documentation project?

Polycom phones
I have a couple of Polycom phones, bootrom 2.5.0, SIP 1.3.1.0056. Works great with Asterisk when I power on the phone. However, after some time, say an hour, I cannot receive calls on this phone. On Asterisk, when I do "database show", it does show the phone in there, but it cannot reach the phone. Is there a way to keep alive the connection with Polycom? Any suggestions? Thanks, --

SIP ringback problem with Polycom phones and CVS HEAD
For the past week or two, our customers who have Polycom phones have been experiencing a problem... but our customers with Cisco phones do not have this problem. The phones in question are: Polycom SoundPoint IP300 (firmware 1.3.1 or 1.3.4) Polycom SoundPoint IP500 (firmware 1.3.1 or 1.3.4) Cisco 7960 (firmware 7.2 or 7.3) The problem is this: when our Polycom users dial _some_ PSTN numbers,

Polycom gain settings
Hi All, I have some Polycom IP300's and I'm interested in increasing the max volume for the headset (not handset), I'm wondering if anyone has experience adjusting these values: <gains voice.gain.rx.analog.handset="0" voice.gain.rx.analog.headset="0" voice.gain.rx.analog.chassis="3" voice.gain.rx.analog.chassis.obs="-12"

Where to get latest SIP bootrom/firmware for Polycom IP500 phones?
I have these phones working well with Asterisk, thanks to http://www.freedomphones.net/polycom/files The code there is not the most current (and my Polycom Extranet login hasn't gotten updated yet to allow downloads). Been waiting a while for their support folks to update the access. If you know where I can get the 2.5.0 BootROM and 1.3.1 SIP code? Thanks, L.

VPN's
Hi All, I'm using Asterisk for my PBX, I have a remote office that is connected by a VPN link. I am using Openswan on my side and a Linksys box on the remote side. I have a Polycom IP300 on the remote side configured with a static IP address. When I call the phone on the remote side, it rings and establishes the call fine. The problem I am having is that the remote side can hear the call

Polycom 501 power over ethernet
When I bought two Polycom 501 SIP phones, I naively thought they were Power-over-Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) because they were "powered over ethernet." Silly me. Polycom must have some odd voltage or funny way of injecting the power, because the POE switch I bought for them (Netgear F@510P) won't power them, though if I use the Polycom-supplied AC adapter and ethernet power

Opinions on Cisco 7960G, Polycom IP-600, and Snom 360
Hello, We are planning to replace our current PBX with an Asterisk / SIP solution, and are now trying to decide which phones to get. My first thought was the Cisco 7960G, but the Cisco licensing scheme irritates me enough that I'll probably end up going with either the Polycom IP-600 or Snom 360. If anyone has any opinions of these phones, especially in comparison to each other, I would

FWD IAX Problem
Hi All, I am having trouble with receiving calls from FWD via IAX. I know this isn't a FWD support forum, but I suspect the problem is my asterisk setup. The problem is that I can dial out to fwd subscribers, even myself but they can't dial me using my FWD number. I don't know much about IAX, but it would seem to me like a registration problem, but I get no errors or warnings in

Polycom 500, asterisk user opinions?
Hi all, I'm researching IP phones for a new office setup. We will need 30 phones. I have read the wiki and the polycom site for the phones, but I still had some questions about real world experience with these phones. -According to the documentation, the 500 series ( and 600, according to a polycom rep ) have built in hubs. Has anybody noticed performance issues in this setup, when

Polycom 500 bootrom.ld problem
Received two new Polycom 500 phones. Dhcp and ftp configured properly to load the various files including v2.5.0 bootrom.ld, etc. One of the phones loaded all firmware and config files properly, registers with *, and is usable. The second phone loads bootrom.ld (from the same ftp server on the same wire as the phone), but towards the end of the bootrom.ld load process (about 430 pkts as seen by
