UTStarcom F1000 - WLAN connection unreliable
Hi list,
I bought two UTStarcom F1000 phones, pre-equipped with the latest
firmware, including WPA support. Those are configured to register to an
asterisk server on the internet (not LAN), and registration works.
Calling and being called also, with transfer and all bells and whistles.
After a few minutes up to 5 hours (varies widely), the display tells me
that an Accesspoint is not available

WiFi phones and WDS (Wireless Distribution System)
I'm about to start working with WiFi phones on my Asterisk
installations.
Can anyone tell me if they are using WiFi phones on wireless network
that is extended with WDS and how well the phone handles jumping from
access point to access point while on a call?
Do any WiFi phones support WPA encryption or are they all still under
the impression they are only being used on public hot spots?

Wifi Phones
Hello list, I was going to buy this weekend a Wisip from
http://www.pulverinnovations.com/, but jeff got out of stock and he wont
have Wisip for the next 3 to 4 weeks. So I start searching for other
wifi phones because I was really upset about it and I found IPC5000 from
http://www.fahdtel.com/sip_phones.htm, I liked so much the pic that I
email the guy and he send me the PDF with all the details

use the value of variable to quote certain elements in matrix
Hi, I want to use the value of variable to quote elements in matrix.
For example, I have a matrix like:
y1 y2m1 1 2m2 3 4
where y1,y2,m1,m2 are column and row names. I have two random character variable, say x, that could be either y1 or y2 and y that could be either m1 or m2. So can I do like Matrix[y,x] to quote elements? I've tried this

Recommendations on a WiFi phone for *?
We're getting our feet more and more wet with VOIP at work. We want to
experiment with a good wireless (as in WiFi) phone. What would be a
good phone to impress my boss with?
I'm personally drooling over the UTStarcom F3000, but compatibility and
shipping ETA info is a bit sketchy.

WiFi IP Phones
Guys.
I know there are wifi sip phones out there but I have a question, are any of
these phones "anti explosive"? By that I mean, there are certain regulations
about phones or cel phones that are not recommended to operate in
environments like gas stations due to sparks and the chance of ingiting gas
fumes.
Are there any wifi sip phones out here that have complaince with regulations

Centos 5.4 DNS resolution issue
I can ping the google.com ip addresses (209.85.231.104) but can't ping the
FQDN, obviously DNS is broken.
I can also ping the nameserver ip addresses specified in /etc/resolv.conf.

WiFi SIP phones
Greetings list,
What are people's experiences with WiFi SIP phones?
When I last looked into them about 18 months ago, they were incredibly expensive, had very limited range and poor battery life. In the end, it worked out much more cost effective to simply use ATAs + DECT cordless phones where there was a requirement for portable devices.
I assume things must have moved on somewhat since

Shorewall''s bogon file needs updating
As far as I can tell from <http://shorewall.net/errata.htm> the current
shorewall bogons file is
<http://shorewall.net/pub/shorewall/errata/2.0.8/bogons> which contains
the line:
58.0.0.0/7 logdrop # Reserved
This is incorrect. These two /8s were allocated to APNIC as of April
2004. See also
