sip extension logon failed problem
Hi All,
Now I configured a linux box as a router. And I
installed Asterisk on it.
My problem is whenever the WAN is offline all the
sip extensions will logon failed. My sip extensions
are connected to Asterisk through LAN. Why the LAN
side sip phones cannot logon when WAN is offline.
Who knows the reason and solution?
Thank you so much.
I really appreciate.
Be Well.

Asterisk failover solution
If your phones are setup to connect to the asterisk box by name, then a
smart DNS server can just point phones to the backup box after failure.
However, since asterisk running on the backup box doesn't know about the
phones, this is only half the solution

UK SIP Provider
Hi,
I'm looking for a reliable provider to use mainly for outgoing calls in the
UK, incoming isn't so much of a worry as I think I'm going to accept them
over ISDN.
Cheers!

What's the best ztdummy?
I have several servers using ztdummy as the timing source, some CentOS
4.x, some CentOS 5.x, some Asterisk 1.2.x, some Asterisk 1.4.x.
"zap show status" differs between the servers:
ZTDUMMY/1 (source: Linux26) 1 UNCONFIGUR 0 0 0
ZTDUMMY/1 (source: RTC) 1 UNCONFIGUR 0 0 0
ZTDUMMY/1 1 UNCONFIGUR 0

Anybody having issues with ztdummy under the current 2.6 RC7? I get the
following errors when trying to modprobe ztdummy:

Doing a Google on the error shows reference to a message from 2004 that
said you might not have RTC compiled into the kernel. Checking via:
cd /usr/src/linux-2.6.13-rc7
grep -i rtc .config

ztdummy does not load properly at server startup
Hi
I run asterisk 1.4.2 with zaptel 1.4.1.
Zaptel is only needed for the ztdummy driver to get the Meetme()
application to work. I don't have any specific hardware.
And it does work nicely. When I reboot the machine however I have to
manually load the driver like this:
[root@vink ~]# modprobe ztdummy
Notice: Configuration file is /etc/zaptel.conf

modprobe ztdummy failed
Hello-
I've been trying to scour both * and linux user group
archives for a solution to this particular problem, but I am
just plan stuck. I got the latest zaptel sources from cvs,
uncommented ztdummy.o in Makefile, ran make; make install
then, did depmod -a. All is well up until now.
When i do modprobe ztdummy, i get this error:
dv@sidetrack:/usr/local/src/zaptel# depmod -a

Ztdummy not loaded
I was having problems with conferencing when I found a list which
suggested that ztdummy might not be loaded. I checked using lsmod and
sure enough it was not loaded. When trying to load ztdummy I get an
error saying "Can't locate module ztdummy".
I am using Asterisk CVS-09/13/03-23:21:19
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Chad

ztdummy compile under 2.6.28 ?
It looks like something has changed in the HPET kernel code in 2.6.28
(maybe .27 too) that's stopped ztdummy.c compiling (in 1.2 and 1.4
versions of zapata) A kernel structure member has been renamed with some
crypic comments in the lkml about it.
Anyone know the right thing to do - I'm not up on the linux kernel guts,
nor how ztdummy might interact with it, so simply renaming the
