Serial console with pxelinux on Soekris net4501
Hello,
I have a Soekris net4501, which I'm PXE booting using pxelinux. Everything
seems to be working splendidly, except for the fact that I can't seem to make
pxelinux understand use the net4501's serial console port correctly.
The net4501 uses the serial console as its primary interface; I'm using a null
modem cable and minicom to operate with it. At boot, its startup

Recent (6.02) PXELINUX on Soekris net4501
Dear all,
I'm trying to boot a recent PXELINUX on a brand new Soekris net4501
(comBIOS 1.33). This combination appears to not work out of the box...
I see much advice floating around from a few years ago, hinting that
earlier versions of PXELINUX might have worked. However before resorting
to archaeology I'd be interested in feedback from others who might have
got through this.

[PATCH] drm/nv50/graph: add more trap names to print on error
Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu>
---
I made the assumption that showing the address is generally useful. Worst
case, it won't make sense but still be displayed. Seems simpler than
special-casing things.

Asterisk network architecture
Hello,
I'm currently working on a new installation and wondering which
architecture and protocol I should use...
I want to share my Asterisk server between users on my internal LAN and
a user connecting via Internet...
So, my server has to be reachable from outside and also from inside...
For the external user, I'll use a softphone and probably IAX2 ? What

writing MBR onto the flash.has anybody successfully booted flash?

Prioritizing traffic
I don''t know whether this is the right place to ask, but kindly point me to
an FM that I can R if it isn''t.
My wife is creating lots of Kazaa traffic, and I am using rsync to create a
full mirror of Red Hat''s FTP site, Aurora Linux FTP site, the LDP site, and
some other stuff. Clearly, when one is moving well over 100GB over a 128
Kbps link, this is going to take a

SIP NAT + m0n0wall 1:1 mapping
I know a SIP client behind a NAT trying to peer with Asterisk behind
another NAT is troublesome. Has anyone had any luck doing this by
interfacing Asterisk to the WAN using 1:1 NAT translation to give it a
public IP while still firewalled?
In my instance I'm using m0n0wall, but this is a hardware-neutral
question.
Thanks.

wondershaper
Hi,
I just installed wondershapper 1.1a on my ipcop firewall box. I have
roadrunner cable with a ftp server setup. My download speed is 2mbit (I get
225 KBytes) and my upload is 384kbit (I send at 43 KBytes).
What should the settings in wshaper?
I can ping yahoo.com at 90msec with little traffic.....and at around 220msec
with full upload traffic.

System Design
Hey Everyone,
We are in the works of planning a new * installation for our company.
We have 20 users in our main office and 5 users in a remote office a
couple of states away. Our call volume for the main office will be
anywhere from 5-10 concurrent calls. The remote office will have about
3 heavy users with two users making calls occasionally.
Right now we have an existing PBX. We have a

Wondershaper
Season Greetings to all
Tom, in your faq, u have this noted:
While I am currently using the HTB version of The Wonder Shaper (I just
copied wshaper.htb to /etc/shorewall/tcstart and modified it as shown in
the Wondershaper README),
I treid this with wondershaper, using Bearing Leaf 1.0 stable
i even changed the tc command to run_tc, and tried it in both angles,
and i receive the following..

wondershaper with ssh on a non-standard port
greetings all,
i''ve searched high and low for this, but can''t seem to find an answer
anywhere..
having read the docs and the wondershaper script itself, it occurred to
me that the documentation promises an immediate drop in interactive app
latency, specifically mentioning SSH as a big winner.
however, looking through the script i can''t really tell just *how*

tcrules ignored? wondershaper integration?
Hi,
first of all, let me thank you for your great Shoreline Firewall. I use
it with great success at home (protecting my WiFi connection).
And now if I could have a question about traffic shaping. I did read
everything I could find but I still have two problems: first, the MARK
from tcrules is not working in HTB based simple tc filter line ("handle
$MARK fw classid 1:20"). If I switch

Wondershaper breaks IPSec tunnels

Hello, been awhile since I''ve written.
I now have a situation where I get to use traffic shaping for a client.
~ We implemented the WonderShaper script on our own firewall and
experienced no problems. I made some modifications to it to add IPSec
protocol packets into the 1:10 high priority class using the u32 filter.

wondershaper under Debian
Hi everybody! I know this discussion list isn´t just about wondershaper, but i think someone can help me.
I used to have a linux box running red hat 8, as firewall on my lan. I upgraded to debian 3.0 and tried to use the same wondershaper files under debian, but, when i run wondershaper on ppp0 device, it just stops transfering. Remember: its the same files i used with success under red hat 8.

Running Shorewall with WonderShaper on a dual-ISP setup.
I''m currently building a firewall for a network with 2 ISP links.
Unfortunately, one of the ISP''s doesn''t support BGP yet, otherwise I
would be doing load balancing at the router, instead of the firewall.
I''ve been trying to find information on how to get WonderShaper working,
but everything I''ve found talks about setting it up for a firewall with

Wondershaper
Hi !
I´ve been using the wonderful wondershaper from chapter 15.8 of the
LARTC Howto for some time. It´s really wonderful.
Actually, I use the version from
http://freshmeat.net/projects/wshaper/?topic_id=87
Now I tried to put some hosts to low priority, and it doesn´t work. The
traffic is splitted equally between the noprio and the other hosts.
Is this because I use ip masquerading, and all
