PoE VOIP phones in Australia
Hi, Are there any resellers of phones that can take power over ethernet in Australia? All I can find for sale online is the BT-10[12], which is cheap but not featureful enough, and the Snom 190, which is about right, but neither of them support PoE. I'm particularly intereseted in the Snom 220 with the keypad expansion for our receptionist. Although, could you make a PoE split-out cable

polycom custom ring tones (slightly OT)
Hi all, Has anyone made up custom ring tones for the Polycom SIP phones? We use different rings for different lines, but the ones it comes with are all very similar. In the interesting of sharing, here's one I made up for paging: <PAGE_BEEP se.pat.ringer.13.name="Page Beep" se.pat.ringer.13.inst.1.type="chord" se.pat.ringer.13.inst.1.value="12"

polycom repair
Hi all, Has anyone had any experience getting Polycom phones repaired? The screen on one of our IP600s got smashed, and I'm wondering if it's worth the effort to get it repaired, or if it'd just be cheaper to buy a new phone. Thanks, -- James Andrewartha Systems Administrator Data Analysis Australia Pty Ltd

Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8
Bouncing a thread from the device drivers list: http://opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=357176 Does anybody know if OpenSolaris will support this new Supermicro card, based on the Marvell 88SE6480 chipset? It''s a true PCI Express 8 port JBOD SAS/SATA controller with pricing apparently around $125. If it works with OpenSolaris it sounds pretty much perfect. --------------

OT Provisioning http-server-enabled devices (Was: Siemens Gigaset DECT base provisioning)
hello, I would to define and unattended process to configure devices which are http-server-enabled, use DHCP but do not use TFTP-DCHP to configure themselves during boot. Has anyone worked on such subject ? I was thinking of something like : populating configuration file from device web pages (rendering this as generic and flexible as possible) writing a script which reads this file and set

PXE client does not honor "hostname" parameter passed by DHCP server
Hello all, I would like to seek advise on the following; I have configured linux NFSroot images for a bunch of servers and am able to boot and run stuff happily; one nuance that bothers me is that, for instance, my Fedora6 (x64) (kernel 2.6.22), (and noticed also in some other distros - Fedora8, Ubuntu710), the client boots but DOES NOT seem to pick up the hostname I pass it through the DCHP

please help a WINE noob...
I hope someone can help with this problem. I am a new linux user - just installed Ubuntu 6.06 and WINE to play games. As a test I downloaded a small Dora the Exlporer game for my daughter, just so I could see if I could get it to run. Right-clicking the installer gave the option to run the programme with WINE and it installed OK, but when I typed wine dora.exe in a terminal screen I got the

(no subject)
Hi everyone :) Trying this for the first time..... My problem: I'm trying to get PXELinux to use the parameters 208,209,210 and 211 (for having a common config file and separate default values) I've set up a tftp server (as suggested on the pxelinux site), and pxe booting works as it should. I'm stuck using a Windows 2003 DHCP server, and can't get it to send the options

Setting up Polycom IP 500 with *
I am in the process of setting up an * system using Polycom IP 500's. I don't want to spend time setting a ftp server for application and configuration files at the moment, just want to use the web interface to the Polycoms. DCHP works OK and IP is obtained correctly. Polycom fails to load .cfg file and holts. I have read the 143 page admin user guide a couple of times...and I missing

When to use WINS server in a home network?
Hi. All, I've been reading the docs but I'm not too sure when I should run a WINS server. Just to confirm, I only need a WINS server if I have more than one workgroup? or more than one subnet? Otherwise the DNS server should be sufficient, right? (My router uses static dchp to keep track of hostnames for each machine.) My home network: * User-level security * 3 linux boxes with 2 windows

zfs send and recordsize
Hi Everyone, I perform a snapshot and a zfs send on a filesystem with a recordsize of 16k, and redirect the output to a plain file. Later, I use cat sentfs | zfs receive otherpool/filesystem. In this case the new filesystem''s recordsize will be the default 128k again. The other filesystem attributes (for example atime) are reverted to defaults too. Okay, I can set these later,

Macbook DHCP issue.
Hi folks, A while ago I setup my macbook pro to run TINC to my linux box. It's worked just swell since April. The other day it just stopped working. The connection comes up and everything seems fine but I can't DHCP a correct address. I followed the old setup instructions that were located here: http://www.tinc-vpn.org/examples/macbook-install/ They seem to be gone now. When I try and

I have '/var/log/deamon.log' > and it contains lines in the format above, they all start with the date. I used a grep to find the lines with "denied" and posted. If I get the logs directly from syslog, it usually

CentOS 6 dhcpd custom log issues
Hi all, I've got an issue with C6's dhcpd custom logging that I cannot figure out. Hopefully someone has an idea, or has seen a similar issue. We have dhcpd logging to /var/log/messages a custom header (DHCPUSER:) with MAC, IP and Circuit-ID. I'll not bore you with the guts, so here's the beginning of that line in dhcpd.conf: if exists agent.circuit-id { log (info,

rename(2), atomicity, crashes and fsync()
Hi all, Recently there''s been discussion [1] in the Linux community about how filesystems should deal with rename(2), particularly in the case of a crash. ext4 was found to truncate files after a crash, that had been written with open("foo.tmp"), write(), close() and then rename("foo.tmp", "foo"). This is because ext4 uses delayed allocation and may not
