Rotary phones? (No, I'm serious)
Will the FXS cards that work with asterisk handle rotary? Are there any
channel banks that can convert rotary to touch tone (like some sorta
bridge)?
The goal is to be able to log input from rotary phones. Full PBX
functionality would be nice but...
(It's for a project, not for serious production).

Rotary phone on Asterisk
I'm trying to use a couple of old Western Electric type 500 phones (desk
model, rotary dial). These phones work fine, as tested with telco lines
(they dial, receiver/transmitter works fine, etc).
I'm running Asterisk 1.6.2.11.
I can't get them to dial through Asterisk. They are connected to a Rhino
channel bank which is connected to Asterisk via a Sangnoma card (T1 with

1950's UK rotary dial phone
Folks,
I've got one of those GPO 1950's rotary dial phones that I'm trying to
get working in the UK. I've got pretty much everything working with my
TDM400, the phone rings and I can receive calls but I cannot dial with
the rotary dialer. I have set pulsedial=true or whatever the exact
setting is and I can dial from the phone by lifting the receiver and
tapping out the number on

Really Old Rotary Phone
Ok... I am not a telephone guy... I was born after rotary phones, so
forgive my ignorance in this matter. I am trying to get a really old
rotary phone up and running with an ATA. Why? Who knows... just
thought it would be cool. The problem is that it does not have an RJ11
connector, instead it has three wires (green, yellow, red). Does anyone
know what that type of connector is called? Or

Tormenta 2 Card number rotary switch
Hello,
I had two quad-E1 Tormenta2 cards in my system and yesterday i had to
replace the CPU. I noticed the rotary switch on each card that sets the
card number or ID...
Both switches were set up on 0 and everything worked fine. Should i set
one card to 0 and the other one to 1, or... "if it works, don't fix
it!" ?
I had some nightmares with IDs on Dialogic hardware with Bayonne

VoipSupply.com
I am going to buy some IP phones from them but I sent them an email couple
of weeks ago and got no reply. Has anyone ordered anything from them? Any
other places that I can buy from? Sorry if it's a wrong post.

Is Voice Pulse Connect good ?
Hi,
I am thinking of signing up with voice pulse connect to connect to my
asterisk server and using it as a regular line. Is it good? Or should I go
with vonage or others ?

8+ line receptionist only setup
Hi,
We are looking towards a 8+ CO line setup (20 extensions) in our office
but we do not want an IVR(auto-attendant) feature. All incoming will be
answered by a receptionist. I have read the multi-line configuration for
cisco 7960 thread in this list but that way I believe we could only display
6 incoming lines. What will happen to the rest? Does the expansion module
for the cisco 7960 work

E911 Testing !
I believe the 911 is a serious issue if one does an asterisk installation in
an office. How do you test 911? Won't they arrest you or something for
dialing 911 for no reason and talking to one of their agents who could have
taken a more important call?
On the other hand what an emergency comes up (like someone got seriously
injured) and on top of that asterisk crashed all of a sudden

Voicemail systems- flow charts, digit/key cards, etc
Does anyone have flow charts or digit/key cards for some of the more popular voicemail systems out there?
(shows which digits/keys to press, where it takes you, etc.)
I need to create some of the new voicemail system.
Send 'em my way if you have them.

Hi LLVM-dev!
As you know, I'm involved with the PyPy Python compiler effort
and have been wroking on the LLVM backend. The LLVM backend will
be one of the topics of the upcoming PyPy sprint (see
link below), which will take place in Heidelberg, Germany. See sprint
announcement below or on

[LLVMdev] PyPy sprint announcement: Gothenburg 7th - 11th December 2005
[The first part of the announcement did not make it into the previous
mail]
Hello LLVM-ers,
Most of you know of the LLVM backend in PyPy. We would like to use
LLVM JIT
for the next phase of PyPy. If any of you would like to help us,
please come to Gothenburg
next december. We have not put an LLVM track on the todo-list below
mainly because
no one will be there dedicated to LLVM. If

Practical limit on dial prefixes for a route
Colleagues,
We're in the process of standardizing on Sprint PCS and Cingular phones on a
national basis (~ 50 properties, 1000's of lines). I manage an Asterisk
install at one location.
I've been looking at the Multitech CellFinder CDMA for Sprint as a dial
backup solution. Basically, it's a CDMA to POTS gateway, tied to a PCS
account. We would see it as a trunk line and I

[LLVMdev] PyPy sprint announcement: PyCon 2006, Texas, Feb 27st - March 2nd
Hello LLVM-ers,
The next sprint of PyPy will be held in Dallas, Texas, at the PyCon
conference. Most of you know about the LLVM back-end of PyPy. So far,
we use mostly the static compilation features of LLVM, but as we are
progressing on the JIT side we are considering starting sometime soon
working on just-in-time machine code generation backends. Clearly, LLVM
might prove to be a good target

Hello LLVM,
During this sprint we will also look at using LLVM JIT for our project.
What exactly we will do in Tokyo very much depends on who will

can make sure everyone will have a fun and productive time.
