TDM400P FXO channel hookstate always "Offhook" & outbound digits sent before provider dialtone
I have an Asterisk@Home 1.3 server (Asterisk 1.0.9) and recently added a
TDM400P with (1) FXO card on port 4. Inbound calls are always successful
but outbound calls fail 75% of the time with intercept messages from my
dial tone provider that include "we're sorry, your call did not go
through", and "we're sorry, when placing a local call it is now
necessary to dial an area

Sipura 841 and headset
Hi folks !
I bought two sipura 841 phones. I used to have GN Netcom headset which
I connect instead of the handset. The problem is that I don't have any
sound coming out the headset and I can't speak neither !
I'am located in France and I was wondering if the cabling in the sipura
and in the headset is the same (I mean the order of the cables) or maybe
is there something else to

Sipura 3000 PSTN disconnect in the UK
Anyone else got a Sipura 3000 in the UK? Apart from CID not working it also
seems to not notice any of the line state changes on the PSTN when the
remote party terminates the call. It only recognises the offhook signal
which gets sent much later.

How do you put someone on hold on a zap channel?
Ok, this is probably a stupid question, but I can't seem to find
anywhere where it tells how to put someone on hold on a zap channel.
Flash gives me a dialtone and # tells me to enter a new
extension, how can i just put the caller on hold. Pressing # then
hanging up drops the call. Is there a simple way of doing this
without transfering the user to a parking lot?
Thanks,
Jon.

Crash Hard, Crash Often
I've been using asterisk for 3+ years now, I love it, but it doesnt love
me back. :-)
It was crashing frequently and seemingly randomly prior to this latest
upgrade. Not sure what version it was running prior to upgrade (it was
probably an old CVS HEAD from 2+ years go.) Anyway, currently running
1.4.21.2.

Redirect two channels to each other?
I've been scratching my head trying to think of a way to do this, but
without success yet.
I'm using the Manager API. If I have two channels linked to each other
(i.e. direct connection), or even if they are independent channels,
I can transfer them both to the same extension by using Action: Redirect
and using Channel: for one and ExtraChannel: for the other. This is most
useful for

FXO ATA?
Is the Sipura 3000 the only way to interface a remote pstn line and connect
incoming calls to Asterisk? I have a location connected by network that has
a phone line, when the room is occupied I want the line ti ring there as
normal, but when the employee is travelling I want the line to be conencted
to a ATA that then feeds it as an incoming pstn line to the pbx located at
my office so it can

Having problems with S100U
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

I've tested the S100U unit in two different computers both with
different USB subsystems. The one it worked the best in used the
usb-uhci USB driver. The other system uses the usb-ohci USB driver. To
make sure it was not the installation, I used the same hard drive that
had asterisk in both systems. And I moved the X101P and S100U between

Cisco ATA and a PayPhone
I have an interesting problem. I am attempting to install a payphone
utilizing a Cisco ATA-188. The payphone actually works, but there are
some timing issues. What happens is you pick up the payphone and the
ATA grabs a line and goes offhook. While you monkey with putting money
in and dialing the number, you are eating up the time before you get the
offhook reorder tones (or howler tones

echo cancellation for analog lines
Hi,
I am currently working on a thin-client "low-cpu" usage telephone
application.
The current setup is that you can make phonecalls using an alsa
supported usb headset and a smartlink based usb modem (a sweex
usb modem, which -in large quantities- goes for 17.95 euro's)
for analog lines.
Unfortunately, it is really made as a modem and not for audio
purposes, so, there is a pretty

adit 600 fxo ports immediately "answers" outgoing calls (even if not connected to line)
I have an adit 600 with an fxo card connected to a digium T1 card.
If I try to make an outgoing call and the T1 cable is disconnected,
asterisks returns congested like it should.
But, if the adit 600 is connected to the T1 card, the adit 600
immediately "answers" the call even if there are no physical
lines attached. I even removed the fxo card and the adit
600 still

Sipura-3000 - silent dial out on FXO port
I am trying to configure the FXO port on a Sipura-3000 for use with Asterisk.
When I connect to the Sipura to dial out on the PSTN line connected to
the Sipura's FXO port, it gives me the dialtone of the PSTN line and
then I can hear the DTMF for the number I dialled beforehand.
It does work but the customer perceives this delayed second DTMF
feedback as "unprofessional" and the

X100P keeping PSTN line Offhook
Happens quite often. X100P FXO card puts the PSTN line offhook, so that no
calls go out or come in. The outside callers get a busy siganl while inside
callers cant dial PSTN.
Its a DELL optiplex P3 128MB ram 500MHz processor.
Here is some more info: (see the zapata.conf in the end)
Please direct me where to look for problem.
Thanks!!!

Well, a bit of a newbie using Asterisk and trying to get some Sipura SPA-841
phones to talk to the Asterisk server. Not doing something right
apparently....
If I turn on debug for the extension in the CLI (sip debug ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)
I see frequent 5 packet attempts by the server to contact the phone, but
seems to always be failing. The status

Has anyone tried using a Sipura-3000 as an FXO device for *?
I am considering using Sipura-3000s as FXO devices for my * system. Has
anyone tried them in that configuration? They interest me because they
need no PCI slots and therefore no drivers. I would much prefer not to
have any special kernel requirements for my system.
