Hi, I've got an IAXy, and provided it with connection data - unfortunately didn't provide a fixed ip address, but left with dhcp. Everthing went fine, and I could work a while with it. After a restart of IAXy, it didn't negotiate a new IP address, nor used the old one. I even restarted the DHCP server and cleared its cache. No success. I went to another office with a different

I've heard comments about the instability of the IAXy (loosing IP, locking up, etc) . I want to deploy some, in a remote site. The comments on the instability suggest that the simplest approach is to power-cycle them when you have problems. The IAXy would only be in use from 3PM to 8 PM. My potential simple solution is to have a timed power brick (like what you would use for a block heater)

Hi everyone, We are using the IAXy boxes and Asterisk over the internet and I was wondering if Asterisk can do a codec translation during a call in order to lower the bandwidth that the comunications consumes? I mean, the IAXy boxes only support the ADPCM and uLAW codecs, but for a certain number of calls our bandwidth runs out, then I think if Asterisk can convert the signal that comes in ADPCM

I place a call from an IAXY to an IAXY device. INitially the calls show in the output of "show channels". Then after a few seconds the "show channels" command shows 0 active channels even though I am still talking on the channels. Any ideas on this? THanks, Jerry

At a couple of locations, the IAXy's have just stopped working after 1 or 2 days use. Hi all, getting a server going wiht a few TDM400's and some phones, and some IAXys too I haven't heard any issues about AU phones being able to RING in Australia, like the problem in the UK with ring capacitors on the BT system. Digium has discontinued their ATA iaxy adapter; don't blame them, too expensive so they can not compete. The adapter is upgraded automaticaly when it is connected to new asterisk version; since this adapter is discontinued will it still work with asterisk 1.6 and beyond or will it be\ just a "door stopper"? -- Joseph

Hi All; I need to buy one IAXy device, but I discovered that it supports only g711 and ADPCM codec, so I was wonder that it does not support g729 or GSM?! I have a brand new IAXy I'm playing with. I do not get a dialtone on the phone, or any response at ll on the phone. No sound, no dialing, no ringing.
