RxFAX generates no tiff file
Hi, I am trying to receive a fax with the spandsp library. The sending fax says "success" but there is no tiff file generated. I use "exten => 7000,1,rxfax(/tmp/testfax.tif)" in my extensions.conf. The connection is via SIP/G.711 as I have read on the list that this can sometimes work (I know Fax over IP is troublesome without T.38). I think the transmission should not

Can't receive Faxes with Asterisk (help)
Hi, I have an Asterisk CVS-HEAD-08/29/05-13:21:43 built on a Redhat 9. I have problems to receive faxes with spandsp-0.0.2pre11 and libtiff-3.5.7-11. I'm trying with a fax machine Panasonic KX-FT25, 14.4Kbps modem speed. I have tested sending a Fax document from Asterisk to the fax machine, it is working fine, but when I try to receive with asterisk, I receive transmission error on the fax

Fax Detection
I am attempting to get fax detection to work. I am using a NETjet-s card under ISDN4Linux. Asterisk does not seem to be detecting the fax tone. I have tried following as a test: [MainMenu] exten => s,1,Answer exten => s,2,DigitTimeout(3) exten => s,3,ResponseTimeout(5) exten => s,4,Background(Welcome) exten => s,5,Background(MainMenu) exten => fax,1,Dial(Zap/1,,d) [FaxTest]

Softfax/spandsp
Hi all, After a long time having no time, I have finally done some fresh work on my software fax machine. I have replaced the original carrier tracking with something more robust. I have also added 4800, and 2400 bits per second modes, and cleaned up a few bugs in areas like superfine mode operation. I apologise for this update taking so long. At ftp://ftp.opencall.org/pub/spandsp you will

how to send fax using Spandsp
Hi, I've been trying to get fax going for the last few days. I can receive fax with Spandsp 0.0.2pre19 on Asterisk 1.0.9 with rxfax, but when I tried sending the received fax file to a fax machine, I either get "line error" or just a blank page. Is anyone using Spandsp to send fax to fax machines on PSTN? I've run out of things to try now, and I'd really appreciate if

Receiving faxes and then sending them on
Hi, I'm trying to setup a system where incoming faxes are received using SpanDSP and then send on to another (remote) fax machine. The SpanDSP part is working excellently, however I dont seem to be able to get the forwarding part to work. Heres what I put into my extensions.conf: exten => s,4,Answer() exten => s,5,Set(FAXFILE=/tmp/fax-${UNIQUEID}.tif) exten =>

Software FAX Modem--One Last Request For Help
Here's one last plea for help from the list before I give up on the totally cool software FAX modem concept in complete despair (for now, at least, until I have more time to dig into it).... I am simply not able to successfully receive a FAX no matter what device I transmit from or how I bring the call into Asterisk. My lastest effort was a call from a Pitney-Bowes FAX machine into an X100P

spandsp and certain (e.g. Canon) fax machines
Hi, Several people have reported problems sending faxes from spandsp-0.0.1k to Canon FAX machines. A spandsp user had the same problem with another make of FAX machine, and traced the problem to a bug in the file t30.c of spandsp. Line 542 says s->t4.rx_file[0] where it should say s->t4.tx_file[0]. This fixes his problem, and I suspect it will also fix the Canon fax machine problem.

spandsp 0.0.2
Hi all, There is a test version for the next release of spandsp at ftp://ftp.opencall.org/pub/spandsp/spandsp-0.0.2pre2 Only use this if you wish to experiment. In general, using spandsp-0.0.1 is probably more stable right now. If you have had problems with Canon FAX machines not accepting FAXes from spandsp-0.0.1 you might like to try this version. I have had at least one report from

FAX CNG detected but no fax extension
Hello, I have a question regarding incoming fax to local file (on the Asterisk server). While the fax is received properly (I have the tiff file generated as expected) I get the warning 'FAX CNG detected but no fax extension' on the consol. If the fax is received ok then what 'fax extension' does it expect and what should I do there? My Setup: Sender -> Public PSTN ->

How can I debug spandsp?
Hi, I'm trying to use the spandsp fax-back facility and despite I can send and receive faxes, this is not working fine. I would like to get a debug of what is going on. I am using the flag debug, but I don't know if txfax is generating any log information or where it is saving it. I just don't find anything. My line in extensions.conf is: exten =>

meetme conference latency degrades...
We have recently started making more frequent use of the meetme conference of our * system. We are using v1.0.8 with a 2.6.11 kernel on our system. We generally have 4 callers in it: two with the gsm codec and 2 with g729. Initially, the conference works fine and there is little latency. After about 15min., though, the latency is very noticable and by 25min it's unbearable. If we all leave
