What is happening here - rsync can't copy where cp can, Input/Output errors
I am using rsync version 2.6.9 protocol version 29 on a Fedora 7 system to backup files to a network drive. rsync is getting I/O errors when copying maildir files (I'm not sure if the error is happening with other files but these are the only ones I have found so far). I have done some tests on one particular directory, "cp -R" succeeds but "rsync -r" fails:- home#

Problem with filenames with commas in them
This is a continuation of my previous problem where cp could copy files whereas rsync couldn't. It turns out that the problem is with files which have commas in their names, rsync can write the initial version of the file but it can't check/rewrite them. Here is the error I get from rsync when trying to overwrite the files (using --inplace) :- home# rsync -r --inplace .in

more than one repo with --disablerepo
What's the correct syntax for something like the following: yum check-update --disablerepo=dag ivazquez Extras Misc this runs "dead" and doesn't do a check-update. Use kommas? Something else? man just tells to use glob exp, but what about multiple repo's? Kai -- Kai Sch?tzl, Berlin, Germany Get your web at Conactive Internet Services: http://www.conactive.com

CentOS 4.2 Mouse Tracking Unstable
Just installed CentOS 4.2 on a system that was running RedHat-9. The system is connected to the keyboard, video and mouse through a Belkin OmniView Pro KVM switch. After bootup, the the system tracks movement by the mouse just fine. The unstable behavior can be characterized as follows: 1. Console is switched to a different system for a time and then switched back to the Centos system. 2.

Trouble mounting a second drive
I am tying to mount a second hard drive to my server with CentOS installed on the primary hard drive. I need to get some data off of the drive. It also has Linux installed on it. It was the primary hard drive on the system it was installed on. When I set it up as the second disk it will not boot the drive because it has /boot partition on it. So it conflicts with the /boot partition on the primary

Shrinking a ext3 filesystem ?
I installed CentOS on my home-server with 2 IDE 160GB MAXTOR HDD / RAID-1, LVM and ext3 partitions. Previous OS on this machine was FC2. I often "play" with LVM and, sometimes, have to extand or reduce some volumes size. I was surprised to see that resize2fs isn''t included anymore ! The replacing tool is ext2online but this one seems to only be able to grow a filesystem (not

1.0.beta7
Sorry, the authentication problem still wasn't actually fixed in beta6. Now, this time I tested every possible authentication case that it really works. I'll soon create a CVS branch which is going to stabilize into the 1.0 release. I won't add new features there so it shouldn't really get broken anymore, at least because of new features.. So, two changes in this release:

Installing on Abit BE7-RAID
I have RH 8 running on a Abit BE7-RAID motherboard. My task is installing Centos 4.1 with limited knowledge on installing with hardware RAID. Will the drivers work with Centos 4.1? Since I used Windows to
