I've rummaged through the archives and documentation and have yet to find references to nbsd or mention of how to implement overhead paging using chan_oss as mentioned in the list previously. I suspect that one would use a soundcard in the PBX system and feed the output to speakers and/or PA system. Would someone please point me to some procedures or documentation to acomplish overhead paging?

Does anyone know if its possible to have more than one sound card in an Asterisk box and use each one as a paging zone? How about left and right channels of a single sound card? I'm looking to have 2 paging outputs if possible - I've read about using a Grandstream phone on autoanswer but I'd prefer to have the feeds come directly from the * box and go into a stereo amp feeding 2

There was a thread a few months ago that tossed around some ideas for using a cisco phone for intercom or paging. I don't have any ip phones, and wondered if anyone had any luck getting intercom or paging to work on the cisco units. Do any of the (cheaper) ip phones have a way to support intercom or paging? They do work with asterisk - and are good value for money, but as somebody commented: they are not yet perfect. Maybe I'm loosing my mind but I've just noticed that if I put a call on speakerphone and I press speakerphone again it hangs up the call, you would expect it to take the call off speaker back on to the hand piece. Hi, I just moved many Polycom phones from firmware v3 to 4.0.1b. Anto-Answer simply stopped functioning. I can downgrade and make it work, upgrading kills it again. There obviously is a difference in how the newer firmware is treating this auto answer sip header. Can anybody tell me if they have Polycom firmware 4.x.x working with auto-answer/paging?
