SpanDSP - Still can't send
I have googled until blie in the face, WiKi'd until physically exhausted and searched through every Asterisk repository that I can find, all to no avail... No matter which version of SpanDSP I use, with which version of libtiff, Asterisk, ... I simply cannot send faxes. I can receive faxes *perfectly* (sending from standard fax macine on POTS) into tiff file (via Digium analogue card),

SpanDSP issues (oh fun!)
I am having classic "frame slip" symptoms on 4 different systems with 4 different providers (all full PRIs, Qwest, XO, Xspedius, and First Digital are the providers). By classic I mean pages cut short. I do not hear clicks on calls however, and faxing from a fax machine plugged into the asterisk box via an fxs port (no VoIP) faxes just fine through the PRI. Also, faxing directly from

Hi all, I'm trying to setup an asterisk based fax receiving machine. i'm using asterisk 1.2.18 and app_rxfax with spandsp 0.0.4pre9 I have no problems with a modem-fax, but with the fax machines i have tried almost every fax fails, both in sending and receive. the machines are sending a receiving a lot of faxes every day and working well, so i think the problem is on the spandsp side. i

libtiff 3.6.1 and Asterisk spandsp
Per: http://soft-switch.org/spandsp_faq/ar01s07.html FAXing with spandsp keeps giving me core dumps. Its crap, isn't it? Actually the crap in this case is probably libtiff. Versions 3.5.7 and 3.6.0 seem reliable. The FAX image handling in version 3.6.1 is broken. All the core dump problems I have investigated turned out to be due to a very old version of libtiff, or version 3.6.1. I am

recieve fax from PRI using spandsp 65% failure rate
Hi, On one of our servers, we're having problems with incoming faxes. The connections come in through a PRI into a Digium TE820 card. 'fax show stats' yields the following: FAX Statistics: --------------- Current Sessions : 0 Reserved Sessions : 0 Transmit Attempts : 0 Receive Attempts : 740 Completed FAXes : 740 Failed FAXes : 486 Spandsp G.711

SpanDSP and analog Digium channels (TDM400P)
Hi I am trying to use Asterisk as a backend to send and receive faxes over analog channels connected to a Siemens HiPath 3550 switch and a TDM400P card. Receiving faxes, including multipage ones, works really fine, we have no issues at all. But when it comes to send faxes using the app_txfax application, spandsp can't send multipage TIFF files for some reason, it stops sending in the

Receiving faxes with spandsp question
Hello! I?m trying to add fax functionality to my asterisk installation. Right now I?m focusing on receiving faxes. This is not explained in a book, but I assume that I can use same context, add ?fax? extension and if someone calls to send fax - it will autodetect. Right? Per book, I made following setup additions: 1. In sip.conf [general] I added: ;FAX stuff faxdetect=yes t38pt_udptl=yes 2.

[OT] spandsp hylafax asterisk and confusion
This really only seems practical in a corporate environment however, I would suggest decoupling the creation of faxable material from the act of transmitting it. First use CUPS/Samba to create a 'print to PDF' printer (http://www.google.ca/search?q=samba+pdf+printer) Second use an LDAP to look up to return the email address of the submitter of the job and send them the resulting PDF

spandsp 0.0.2
Hi all, There is a test version for the next release of spandsp at ftp://ftp.opencall.org/pub/spandsp/spandsp-0.0.2pre2 Only use this if you wish to experiment. In general, using spandsp-0.0.1 is probably more stable right now. If you have had problems with Canon FAX machines not accepting FAXes from spandsp-0.0.1 you might like to try this version. I have had at least one report from

spandsp, rxfax, TDM400/zaptel, missed frames, any help?
Sorry in advance if this is a FAQ... I've got a working Asterisk setup based on A@H 2.2. I have a TDM400 card with 2 FXS and 2 FXO ports; PSTN connections come in via the TDM card. I haven't been able to get inbound fax with spandsp and rxfax to work. Occasionally an all-text fax will come in, though it's usually badly corrupted, but in most cases, it would appear that the call is

spandsp bug
Hi, I 'm using spandsp-0.0.2pre26<http://www.soft-switch.org/downloads/spandsp/spandsp-0.0.2pre26/>, and thereis a bug adding headers: LOCALHEADERINFO and LOCALSTATIONID (I can't see them ). But faxes goes using rxfax and txfax fine. I also have tried development versions, the bug is fixed, but I get bad faxes (I get one page, but my tiff consists of three pages, and I get just

Shawn, you ever get a fix for this problem? > samples are at > http://tumtum.no-ip.com/faxes/1128432831.3.tif > http://tumtum.no-ip.com/faxes/853107320051004-150908.tif > Both of these were faxed from a Brother intellifax 750 through a ring-it > single-line simulator into my asterisk box (through an X100P clone) > both were normal 8.5X11 pages in portrait style (the map

Max concurrent faxes with txfax/spandsp?
Hi, I tried to use txfax to send several faxes at the same time. It seams, that one can't send more than 3 faxes at once, or one risks to get 50% and more aborted faxes due to errors. The CPU usage is below 97%. I tried with Opteron and IntelP4: same result. Ok, I know, that faxing via a digital line is complicate, and I shouldn't complain, but I would like to know, whether these are

spandsp on FC3
I've got spanDSP and Asterisk Stable using an X100p running on Fedora Core 3 but there is a curious phenomenon when I receive faxes. If I start Asterisk from the command line (usually, asterisk -c or asterisk -vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvcp ) I can receive faxes and mailtofax sends them to me OK. If I start the asterisk service (service asterisk start) that uses safe_asterisk, faxes appear to be

spandsp + HFC poor fax quality?
I've been trying to set up incoming faxes using spandsp with a HFC card. Unfortunately, incoming faxes are of very poor quality, the pages are not transferred wholly (sometimes only a bit of a page is transferred etc.). From what I've read, I may have troubles with correct "timing" (and need to set up ztdummy etc.). On the other hand, it is impossible to set ztdummy if one

Wrong caller id in CDR
I posted something on this a week ago, at which time I was told that this was an 'old' issue. Since then, I've spent hours looking, but can't find the answer. For some reason, some of my CDRs (both to CSV and MySQL) are being written with the wrong callerid. As best as I can determine, they are being written with the CLID of the _last_ caller to access the specific ZAP channel

Fax with spandsp + zaphfc
Hi all, I'm trying to enable faxes on my asterisk box using spandsp version pre10. The outgoing and incomiong calls work great, but i have problem with faxes. The fax detection works, the RxFax application is called, but i only receive the beginning of the faxes (variable between 3 to 5 first inches of the fax). The output .tif file generated is then cut off. My setup is : asterisk

Re: SpanDSP TXFax and multipage faxes problems (aditional info)
Thanks for the information Lee ! Still, something is still strange to me, since this two Panasonic Fax machines are receiving at least 20 multi-paged faxes a day (they are in same office as both Asterisk boxes, and me :) ). Beside that, POTS lines in those two faxes are from same PSTN switch as line in X100P in one of Asterisk boxes, and the ISDN PRI lines in other Asterisk box is from same PSTN
