Newie Questions
Hello, I'm new to asterisk. My company is opening a new office and I'm
seriously considering using Asterisk for the phone system.
A couple of questions:
How does Asterisk compete with the Avaya IP Office or the Nortel BCM
systems?
I have purchased a Polycom 500 phone but I'm having trouble getting it
setup and talking to Asterisk. Is there somewhere that has SIP phone
setup

Web based Asterisk management tool
Hi there
I am new to Asterisk and am looking for a web based management tool, for
managers to manage hunt groups, extensions etc and for user to have access
to there own phone features. I have seen there are a number of commercial
tools available for this, but I presume there are some freeware options too
I noticed one that I like at http://www.thirdlane.com/screenshots.htm but I

Asterisk@Home
I have started to receive a lot of positive response
for the Asterisk@Home project. For those of you
unfamiliar with this project the goal of Asterisk@Home
is to make a full featured version of Asterisk very
easy to install.
We have created a 1 step .iso that installs RHEL
(RedHat Enterprise Linux) and Asterisk. It includes a
web GUI that allows easy editing of the Asterisk
Config files.

Re: X100P problems
Yes - the problem was a missing signalling line in zapata.conf. Now in
and out work.
Also, it was news that "reload" from the console doesn't reflect changes
made in zaptel and zapata.conf entries. Any other config files that it
doesn't reload?

[Asterisk-Dev] Asterisk 1.2 Release Plans
As previously mentioned on the lists by Olle Johannson, we are actively
trying to get Asterisk in shape for a 1.2 release within the next 60
days. To accomplish this, we need a few things to happen:
1) A feature freeze - This will occur at the end of this month, with no
new feature submissions accepted after July 31st. Any _pending_ feature
patches in Mantis that have passed architecture

Asterisk@home .05 release questions on setup.
Hello,
Great job on the Asterisk@home project. Looks great this new version is really nicer looking. But I have a few questions.
1) For the new web access http://localIP/maint how and where do I change the password.
2) Since I don't use the Amp section for setup the .conf files I use my own. How do I get the asterisk server running status up. I have it running and works but shows up as not

Operating AAH v1.1
Hi,
Just set up AAH 1.1 using an HFC BRI line and 5 IP phones as per
http://voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=ACT+P104+IP+Phone
The dialplan was configured through AMP and has nothing fancy in it.
As a first time user of not only Asterisk, but also a PBX, there are
some operator teething problems.
After much googling & searching of voip-info.org, I cannot find any
answers to these

Asterisk@Home 1.1b1 has been released
We have replaced the simple contact management system
in Asterisk@Home with SugarCRM a full CRM system. This
might seem like over kill for a home PBX but Sugar has
the best contact management we have seen. With click
to dial functionality and the ability to import data
from other contact managers it’s a great fit for
Asterisk@Home.
We have also added new version of the usual Asterisk
software AMP

Am I missing something really basic here?????helpwith Asterisk@home {Scanned}
Ok, I thought the point of asterisk@home was that it automatically
detected the X100P board and configured it correctly.
Is this incorrect? You still need to modify /etc/zaptel files? And not
just using the AMP configurator.
There is no mention of this on the Asterisk@home webpage.
Can anyone who has actually used ast6erisk@home confirm this one way or
the other?
Thanks,
Dean

Hi,
Question...
Is there a way to receive two phone calls on the same phone, or, for
example to receive a phone call, put the call in stand-by and then make
another call and finally, why not put them all together in conference...
Thanks
