Is Linux based Router feasible
Hi,
I''ve a local LAN consisting of about 150 machines. I''m using a Linux
machine as the gateway machine which inturn connects to two different
ISPs. My question is can a Linux based machine match the performance of
a hardware based routers provided by Cisco,... OR is my decision to go
for a Linux based solution is a wrong one?.
Is there so much difference between these

grandstream budgetone 101
Maybe I'm loosing my mind but I've just noticed that if I put a call on
speakerphone and I press speakerphone again it hangs up the call, you
would expect it to take the call off speaker back on to the hand piece.
I'm using V 1.0.5.22 firmware.
Is there any other way to turn off speakerphone I'm missing?
Cheers,
Dean

UPS for Asterisk
I have several Linux machines some running on really old hardware and
some on brand new, some run old distros (RedHat 6) and some new (FC3 or
CentOS).
All of them experienced power failure more then once, none of them has
failed to load after a reboot.
BUT,
Asterisk is running your PBX. Your PBX isn't your proxy server, it isn't
your web server, mail server, firewall, or whatever

Out of 5 Grandstream BudgeTone 101 THREE are defect !!! (from Pulverstore)
I bought three plus two Grandstream BudgeTone 101 phones.
The shipping cost more than the phone itself from Pulver store.
The first shipping had one phone defect. Nothing on the display. (Can
happen!)
The second shipment had one phone with a defect display, but it still
worked.
The second phone's handset was defect too (microphone did not work).
Changing the handset from this one to the

Dead Budgetone-101?
Hi Folks,
Since there isn't a grandstream forum AFAIK I guess someone here may be able to shed some light on this. Apologies if this is viewed as offtopic..
I think I may have killed the firmware on my Grandstream Budgetone 101. I found a source for the 1.0.5.30 firmware and made the files available over tftp. The phone downloaded the files but now doesn't boot and hangs with a blank

Grandstream Budgetone 101 channels don't disappear on hangup.
Hi there,
I'm having problems with the Grandstream Budgetone 101 on hangup -
"show channels"/"show channels concise" output is still showing the
call's channels as active.
The problem does not exist when I use SJPhone, so I'm assuming it isn't
an Asterisk configuration issue. Has anyone seen this, or better, does
anyone have a fix? :)
Thanks,
David.

budgetone 101 and buttons
I just got a Budgetone 101 and I have it hooked to my * box. I thought I'd
read somewhere that we can program the buttons on these phones to send DTMF
tones, thereby effectively programming them.
However, according to the user's manual, they have predefined SIP
functionality. My dialplan implements the festures I want (transfer, message,
stuff like that), so for uniformity, I'd just

Asterisk/Grandstream Budgetone disconnect issue
I am setting up a small Asterisk system for use at home. I have one Budgetone 101, one Cisco 7960 and two Xten lite softphones. So far everything is working expect for an issue with the Budgetone. When a call is placed between the Budgetone and any other phone, the call is setup and sounds good. If I hang-up on the Budgetone, everything is ok. If I hang up on the other phone, the Budgetone

Hello guys,

I have plugged my BudgeTone into my home network because I want to be

I succeed to register my X-Lite with Asterisk from home but I can't do

BudgeTone 100 Woes
I'm using 1 BudgeTone 100 IP Phone and a Sipura 2000 for all my old analog
phones. The analog phones with the Sipura seem to work great. Voice
quality is fine on both ends on the Sipura. I'm using the Teliax service
and I use the Ulaw codec for all phones.
However, I'm struggling with the BudgeTone 100. On my end, I find there is
lot's of voice cut outs. I'm told my

MusicOnHold (MOH) silent on BudgeTone-100 only.
I have the MusicOnHold feature working great when called from ATA-186
extensions. It's pretty cool.
However, when I call from a BudgeTone-100 phone, no music is heard --
instead it continues the ringing feedback and acts like the call is
unanswered. At the same time, I can call from (multiple) ATA-186
extensions and hear music as long as I like. How can I debug this?
As far as I can tell,

BudgeTone NAT issues
Just for the record and to possibly help with others who get BudgeTone
phones.
My asterisk box is behind NAT, and I use Vonage, NuFone, and
iconnecthere for my "POTS backhaul."
On the front end I have an ATA186, a Digium TDM20, and now a BudgeTone 102.
The BudgeTone definitely has issues wrt the RTP stream and NATting,
although unfortunately I haven't yet been able to dig

BudgeTone-102 MWI&CID with Asterisk
Hi,
I'm considering giving the Grandstream BudgeTone-102 phones a try. I've been using Cisco 7960's to date, but the low cost of the Grandstream phones are hard to ignore. I have two questions:
1) Does the message waiting indicator on the BudgeTone's work with Asterisk?
2) The one line 12-digit LDC concerns me a bit. Is the LCD able to display both the CID number and name on

Grandstream Budgetone mass deployment?
Hello!
I am considering mass deployment of Budgetones 102. According to their

Anyone has experience with this? Is this really working?

Budgetone 102 and voicemail problem
Hi,
Just playing with a couple of Budgetone 102 phones and they are pretty
good for the price.
The only problem i'm having at the moment is when I get a voicemail on

Budgetone and Voicemail
I have a problem with using voicemail on the Budgetone phones. When
entering the mailbox and password, sometimes some keys will register
multiple times (as shown on console when it says no such user in config
file) and sometimes some keys won't even register at all. It seems
totally random. Has anyone seen this problem? Any recommendations
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
