Wildcard X100P or TDM400P?
I'm looking to add a single FXO port to my Asterisk box. It looks like my options are a Digium Wildcard X100P off eBay for $6.99, or a Wildcard TDM400P with an FXO Module from Digium for $125. Can anyone explain the tradeoffs (other than the ability to put 4 FXO/FSO modules on the TDM400P). What about RTC for the system - I know the TDM400P provides it. Does the X100P? Thanks!

Moving up... T1 with 50 extensions
OK, I think I'm ready for the next step from the X100P. Splitting a T1 with a T100P and a channel bank/s ~ 50 extensions. I think the existing system uses NEC phones for ~34 extensions, I don't know the specific model yet of the phones or the channel bank. If the channel bank is not compatible with Asterisk/digium what brand should I be looking at to interface best with Asterisk and

Is my card bad?
Hi, I have a 1 port T1 card in an asus p4p800-vm board with a 2.0g Celeron, and 512m of 266mhz ram (256 on each channel). This board has video, Ethernet, and serial ata all on-board, I got it because of that, there wouldn't be anything else on the pci bus that would mess with the zaptel card(s). So, here's my problem. I'm running redhat 9 with kernel 2.4.20-20.9. I can load the

2 4-port T1 cards
Are there any known issues with putting 2 4-port T1 cards in a single box and having all ports and all channels in use at the same time? Planning on 4 of these boxes, dual AMD cpu MB from MSI, 512m, redhat 9, agp video, on board NICs, serial ata raid. Any input would be appreciated. -Joe

SS7 E1 cards
Hi, I'm looking into support for SS7 and I found an article (http://www.openss7.com/news13022002.html) which says that OpenSS7 supports Linux Support Inc's T400P-SS7 Quad T1 and E400P-SS7 Quad E1 PCI interface cards. It also says that Linux Support Inc is the primary sponsor of Asterisk. However I cannot find these cards on the Asterisk hardware page

X100P & T100P knock-off boards
Do they fall under FCC certification if they're built to the same specifications as the ones from Digium? If I build my own T100Ps from the schematics and board layouts that are available, are they legal to plug into the PSTN?

four wildcards in a single pc
Hi. Please excuse me asking this again. But it really puzzles me. We're installing asterisk at a branch office at NJ (HQ is at Petach-Tikva) It'll need to support 5 POTS lines, 11 analog extensions and four VOIP phones. I wanted to go with a T1 card from digium and a channel bank, but we have a dead line. It has to be up and running by January 1st. I don't have the time to start

Quick Question on Wildcard T100P
Guys, This is probably a stupid question, but I've got a client ordering service from a CLEC and they're going with a fractional T1. Only 6 channels are going to be voice. Is this a problem with the Wildcard T100P? We've only worked with a full PRI before. Thanks for any insight. -Corey ********************************************* This message has been scanned for viruses

Accurate Billing

hi everyone,

I know this issue has been raised many times before, i think still the problem remains. When a call is made through a Zap channel, whether it is actually made or not (irrespective of whether, engaged, busy, or actually answered), asterisk logs it in CDRs as a call made. This makes it impossible to do an accurate billing. Has anybody found a way to overcome

5 Channel / Trunk ??
To all Asterisk guru's... Here is my question. 1. Asterisk PBX - 5 Trunks / Incoming lines 2. 1 Building - 3 Companies (sharing phone system) Ok that's the basic layout. Here's the low down - Each company will have one dedicated channel for there company. The other 2 channels they want to be set aside as rollover's (rotary). That is not an issue. Where my concern is, how

how scalable is digium cards?
This might be a newbie question but I'm just wondering how would it be possible to have 30 analog lines using asterisk for PBX by just using TDM40B and X100P (or are there any device>), if an ordinary PC support just 4 PCI slots? the maximum scale i guess would just be 2 x 8. Adding a new PC just for this purpose would be costly. I would appreciate your comments. Thanks.

The Phantom Call.. T1 card too
I've had the same thing happen, only on the single port T1 card and a channel bank, and one of the FXO channels also having a phone attached elsewhere... I just wound up putting that channel in a different context and running Exten => s,1,Hangup (I'm just using the line for outbound dialing) -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com

Wildcard TE405P and TDM400 - TDM not working
Im having a problem getting the 2 cards working together. I added the TDM with 3 FXO and 1 FXS board. The TE405p is working fine. THe TDM registers and identifies the FXO's and FXS but cant get them to go off hook. I hope someone can help. Asterisk seems to THINK its dialing it sends manager status as dialing, and it just sits there with no tones, on the phone dialing out. If I dial,

Can isdn data calls routed through 2 t100p's
I have a pri comming into a t100p in my asterisk box. I have a second t100p configured as pri_net connected to a nas server. I can route modem calls to the NAS with no problem, but I am concerned about isdn data connections. Will asterisk route 64k isdn calls between 2 t100p's? Also, should I expect worse modem connections than normal? Chad Sawyer -------------- next part --------------

Has anyone thought about an ISO file that could be used to make a CD for a bootable install for a "basic" Linux/Asterisk system? Just re-boot and config. -- James Taylor jltaylor@metrotel.net 903-793-1953 --
