Interface analogue exchange line to VOIP phone?
I have a potential customer who has an existing PBX with analogue FXS ports connected to phones. He wants to allow a single remote worker to be connected to one of the analogue extension ports using VOIP. I know I could do it using Asterisk with an X100P card, but that seems a bit overkill. Does anyone know of an analogue->VOIP adapter that has an FXO port in it instead of just an FXS port?

Wiki Voip Phone reviews
Hi, We have a page on the wiki just for phone reviews, but I think it needs a bit of format change. Instead of individual reviews for each phone, I think each person should review all phones they have worked with and list the phones they have had access to and rank them in relation to each other. Also each review should have a date so the reader can see how fresh the data is to current.

Phone attached to Sipura SPA-1001 has no ring
I hooked up a SPA-1001 with asterisk yesterday and all works well except the phone doesn't ring. The phone I'm using has a LCD display so I can see the call come in. (with caller id info) I can answer and complete the call but it's just not ringing. The phone rings if pluged into a POTS line so it's not the phone that's the problem. I've used the SPA-1001's web

How to hookup to cell phone for outbound calls?
Hi I need a small PBX for use on the move. This means that outbound calls will need to be made over the cell phone network. Assuming a small hardware PBX with a spare mini-PCI slot or a USB slot then what hardware options do I have to get an outbound cellular channel? Options need to be rock solid, so no bluetooth to a cell phone kind of solutions need apply. Can any of the 3G usb

Spa3k and ISDN
Hello all, I have an ISDN termination box (TR1) that converts ISDN(Bri) to 2 normal analogue lines. The same number is assigned to these lines. These lines are connected to 2 spa3k registered to my asterisk box. When calls arrive, TR1 try to pass call to the first spa. If spa not takes the call immediately then try to pass to the other spa. The only configuration I found works is to put the

Fax->Email for Hosted PBX
I'm proposing to install an Asterisk PBX at a collocation facility for a remote customer. Each of the customer locations will have an SPA-3000 with the FXO port connecting a POTS circuit and the FXS port connecting a fax machine or red phone. In addition to voice traffic, the customer has a high volume of incoming and outgoing faxes. Would it be possible, using g711 between the SPA-3000

Fax with SPA-2000's?
I've been trying to get fax reception to work using an SPA-2000 to ring the fax machine or modem that's taking fax calls. I was curious if anyone else had tried something similar, and if so, had any luck getting it to work reliably. I've been able to get it to work, but it isn't reliable. (Pages/lines of black dots result more frequently than not.) The incoming lines are FXO

Australian Caller ID with Sipura SPA-3000
Hi All, I am using a Sipura SPA-3000 as an FXO gateway to bring calls in and out of Asterisk. I am using "PSTN Ring Thru Line 1" (on the "PSTN Line" tab) so Asterisk answers the call rather than the SPA-3000. It is all working perfectly except I can't get the SPA-3000 to pass caller ID to Asterisk. It passes "Display Name", "User ID" and any "PSTN

PSTN to VoIP
I'm about to purchase an adaptor for a POTS data modem and was looking at the Sipura line of adaptors (SPA-1000, SPA-1001, SPA-2000, SPA-3000). Do these work well? Anyone have a suggestion on which model of the Sipura I should get? Does one work better with * than the others? Are there other adaptors that work better that I should get? Thanks, -Dave -------------- next part

Asterisk, VoIP and Samsung iDCS100
Hi, Firstly, I'm new to Asterisk and am a system admin rather than a phone engineer. I've googled and read around but haven't been able to answer my questions sufficiently to buy hardware and get this thing set up. Secondly, if I've missed vital information from what is below, please let me know what. Onward...: So, what I'm trying to solve us remote working. We're a

SPA-3000 VOIP-PSTN gateway - long delay between answering and ringing
Greetings, We are currently testing a Sipura SPA-3000 as a gateway from our Asterisk system to a PSTN line for 911 access. We have a number of locations and want to place an SPA-3000 in each, connected to a PSTN line that will provide the correct ANI/ALI information to 911 for each location. It all works great, except for a reasonably significant (4 seconds) delay between when the SPA-3000

SPA-3000 VOIP-PSTN gateway - longdelaybetweenanswering and ringing
You can even set it to zero. Mine works well when in zero. Sipura 2100 and Asterisk and Fax
I've just made an interesting observation that I'd like to share with you all: the popular Sipura SPA-2100 just doesn't seem to be as great as I'd hoped. I've been trying to get inbound AND outbound faxing working via Asterisk and at least one of my termination services: Voicepulse or Sixtel. In general, inbound has been working flawlessly but outbound has been pretty

SPA3000 -- PSTN to VoIP
Hi, all I am trying to figure out how to forward incoming PSTN call on SPA3000 to VoIP extension(s). Basically, I have converted my home to VoIP. I have normal phone (connected to SPA3000) and couple of IP phones. All call coming from VoIP DID do ring all phones (analogue via SPA3000 and IP ones). Now I need to do same thing for incoming PSTN calls. I have enabled gateway function in SPA3000 and

Bunch of set-up/usage questions (SLA, MWI, SMS proxy's, crypto, Fax, etc)
Howdy, Excuse the neophyte questions... I was wondering: (1) what's involved in setting up a call with encrypted media (I'm on a cable network and don't want my calls snooped); (2) is there a cheat-sheet for configuring Sipura handsets/hardphones like the SPA-942, and in particular for message-waiting indicator and shared-line appearances? (3) my PSTN service provider that I

FAX Machine Testing ...
Not FAX over VoIP, but testing 2 FAX machines back to back ... The scenario is that a client has one of my asterisk VoIP only systems which they're happy with, but need to test FAX machines, so rather than plug in a TDM card with FXS ports, I'm suggesting something like a PAP2T device with 2 analogue ports registering to their asterisk box to use to send test faxes from one fax

DTMF via SIP not working for certain phone systems
I really hope that someone can help me with this one. DTMF tones are not working for certain places that I call, specifically 1-800-882-8880 which is the AA advantage line. It works for almost everyplace else. If I bypass asterisk, the call works fine. Network looks like: <SPA-2000> --SIP-- ASTERISK --SIP-- <AS5350> --PRI-- PSTN sip.conf entries [VGW01] (this is the AS5350)

I recently installed RedHat 8.0 on my computer but i discovered that i also needed to install windows for several programs that I still needed. I have two HDs, the RedHat install is on an 80Gb drive and the windows install is on an 8gb hard drive (which is the slave). I attempted to install windows on the slave but that is a no go so I powered down the computer and unhooked the ide cables

Sipura 3000 Analog Line No Answer, No Audio
Problem 1 - Outgoing: I am able to call out of the * box using the analog line attached to the sipura 3000 but when the person being called answers there is no audio from either end. * registers that the call was answered but passes no audio. Problem 2 - Incoming: When calling into the 3000 attached to * it never seems to pickup the line. The phones don't ring on the asterisk side. I used
