SpanDSP: Training failed (sequence failed)
Hello All ~
Having problems sending and receiving faxes with SpanDSP. I am testing on a
simple 2 analog POTS to 2x X100p set up, connecting one line to a Konica 720
fax machine to test, or with other remote fax machines. Voice calls are
working pretty well now. Platform is P3/800MHz/256MB/FC1.
* recognizes faxes, and passes calls to RxFax and TxFax OK, but 99.9% of the
time no fax content is sent

spandsp Makefile.patch
OK...I pulled down spandsp 0.0.1k today and followed the instructions.
However, I'm not seeing a Makefile.patch anywhere. I've looked through
the last few months of messages and haven't found any reference to it
missing for anyone else either...so...what am I messing up here?
Thanks.

spandsp and certain (e.g. Canon) fax machines
Hi,
Several people have reported problems sending faxes from spandsp-0.0.1k
to Canon FAX machines. A spandsp user had the same problem with another
make of FAX machine, and traced the problem to a bug in the file t30.c
of spandsp. Line 542 says s->t4.rx_file[0] where it should say
s->t4.tx_file[0]. This fixes his problem, and I suspect it will also fix
the Canon fax machine problem.

New rpm, same name, how to update
I have to build my own rpms for the HIPL project. I update my copy of
the code and make rpm.
Thing is the rpm name never changes from patch to patch.
Is there a way to have yum apply the new code as an update and not have
to erase then install?

relative euclidean distance
Hi,
I would like to calculate the RELATIVE euclidean distance. Is there a
function in R which does it ?
(I calculated the abundance of 94 chemical compounds in secretion of
several individuals, and I would like to have the chemical distance
between 2 individuals as expressed by the relative euclidean distance.
Some compounds are in very low abundance whereas others are in high
abundance,

spandsp app_rxfax - the sending software loops
Hi,
After a hiatus of several months, I decided to try spandsp again
because it is such an excellent addition to asterisk. Using 1.0.3 and
spandsp 0.0.1k.
When I send a fax from a laptop software fax that works with every
machine I've ever had to fax to, I get something like this as staus
return from the fax sending software:
- Getting Local ID
- Getting Parameters
and it loops like this

SpanDSP/RxFax help...
I've seen people mention that they have fax reception working with
Asterisk, spandsp, and app_rxfax.
I'm using the latest Asterisk from CVS, SpanDSP 0.0.1k, and the latest
app_rxfax.c (as mirrored by friendly list members recently), and libtiff
3.5.7. Asterisk is detecting the fax signal properly, and executing
the fax extension in the dialplan.
The fax part of the dialplan is pretty

SpanDSP/RxFax anomalies...
I've recently started playing with the RxFax application on my
Asterisk box. I've had success, mostly, but I've had some failures,
too...
The most recent failure is specific to receiving from a particular fax
machine -- a "Canon Laser Class 9000S". The TIF images received are
readable, but the aspect ratio is stretched horizonatlly (or squished
vertically).

No debugging informations on the CLI after patching with ast_data 1.0.2
Hi to everybody,
I have the problem that nearly no information are displayed on the
Asterisk CLI (asterisk -r). In former times (before patching Asterisk
1.0.2 with ast_data 1.0.2) it looks e.g. like this:
--- snip ---
-- Registered '96' (AUTHENTICATED) at 212.202.169.118:4569
-- Accepting AUTHENTICATED call from 212.202.169.118, requested

rxfax/spandsp fails to decode
Hi,
I just sent this to Steve Underwood, but then found a bunch of posts on the
mailing list about similar issues.. does anyone have the fix?
I'm running asterisk CVS-HEAD-06/28/04-18:13:13, spandsp 0.0.1k, libtif 3.5.7
one thing i just noticed is that calls come in with format '72' which is
G711A-law or LinearPCM.. it uses PCM for the call, i assume this is ok

Re: RE: RxFax/spandsp: not disconnecting
Hi Steve,
You are a legend !!! It is properly disconnecting now.
Although I am having problem with the fax detection. Somehow fax will only
be detected if NO CLI was sent from the PSTN line but if the line received
the CLI, fax tone is ignored. Does anyone had the same experience? Is there
any workaround or fixed for it?

Spandsp garbage
Good evening all,
to complete test that I made in august (and which where discussed here)
about garbage when receiving fax, I went more down in my tests.
At first, my setup is an * CVS-HEAD-09/08/04, spandsp-0.0.1k, X100P
(Tiger Jet Network Model 300 128k), kernel 2.4.26 on an SMP SoftRaid
machine (2x400Celeron 400) and 448 MB RAM. I tried the same kernel
without SMP.
I tested with a HP

spandsp / I get only garbage in my faxes
I am trying to use spandsp 0.0.1k-whole.
I have 2 X100P working well for inbound/outbound calls.
I have tried libtiff 3.6.1 and 3.5.7
With 3.6.1 I get only faxes all black, and 3.5.7, I get blank vertical
lines and the rest all black also.
During the transmittion, apparently there is nothing that can indicate any
error except some "Training errors".
The sender fax thinks that the fax
