FXS Solutions for modems and other non jitter tolerant devices
In the past we have used Adtran Atlas 550's to break out FXS ports for devices like modems. The great thing about the 550 is that internally it is all TDM so there is absolutely zero latency. We are able to use ATA's for faxes and analog phones but devices that use modems, they fail 99.99% of the time when using an ATA. We tried to migrate to TA908 devices; they have FXS ports built

3.3p1 on Immunix (RH) 6.2
Just compiled the SRPM for 3.3p1 on my Immunix 6.2 box (Redhat 6.2 + Stackguard compiler), fired up the server, and tried to connect to it. No joy. In the spec file I changed the following options: # Is this build for RHL 6.x? %define build6x 1 # Disable IPv6 (avoids DNS hangs on some glibc versions) %define noip6 1 This appears in the system log: Jun 24 16:11:51 johnh sshd[27774]: fatal:

OT Astricon/Digium Beach Ball Mailing
Just an FYI for Digium. I received a mailing today from you guys which was nice. The price of mailing was ~$1.60 and inside was an inflatable beach ball. Cool, but I tried to blow up the beach ball and the the seam where the part opens to inflate the ball was not connected to the ball whatsoever, so it went right in the trash. I wonder if the sick heat had anything to do with it, was mine just

array indexes in C
I am passing (numeric) arrays to a C function, called with .C. To the best of my knowledge, I can do this in R by passing it as a vector (with as.vector) to the .C call. However, it would be useful to access the array as an array inside C, ie not have to calculate how array indices (i,j,k) map to the vector elements. What is the right way to do this? Are there convenience functions to do the

Send flash through zap channel
Hi everyone, our setup includes a NEC PBX connected to our asterisk via bri lines. The NEC has a doorphone feature, which is just an extension that calls you when someone rings. When connected to this extensions, a 'flash' signalling opens the door. So now, i'd like to trigger this from asterisk, too, but unfortunately wasn't able to do so. Setup: asterisk

AW: Integrating an old PBX with Asterisk

You didn't mention the number of lines your PBX uses, but think of a third scenario: Install an asterisk with twice the number of BRI/PRI-Ports your current PBX has. Connect half of them to your carrier, the other ones to your old PBX (Some sort of

Asterisk overheating on VIA Epia MSeriesmoth erboard
Is that a bios setting (I don't recall seeing it) or an OS setting? I run a lot of Via C3 machines (they are so nifty) but don't remember seeing this. -----Original Message----- From: Technical Support [mailto:support@ocg.ca] Sent: Tuesday, September 06, 2005 10:43 AM To: 'Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion'; shmaltz@gmail.com Subject: RE: [Asterisk-Users]

SFTP support for subsecond times
using "synchronized" subsecond timestamps imho only makes sense with synchronized time (ntp) through that ssh tunnel, too. and with this assumption a "full VPN ssh usage" instead of "only filesystem timestamps" [maybe trying with target systems without subsecond timestamps?] seems impractical to me. or at least "... ISDN X-Over
Hi all, I have just been reading an article on the asterisk-doc site about ISDN X-Over cables. The article mentioned the converting of an NT1 to make this possible, has anybody got the information required to modify a BT NT1? Or any information on the BT NT1. Thanks in advance. Regards Dave
