Hi, I have an 8-port Grandstream GXW-4008 V1.2A ATA converter with analog phones connected to it. They work fine except for just one "feature" I would like to modify. Somehow, each time the ATA re-registers the SIP clients or each time the device has to be rebooted for maintenance, the phones ring once. This feature can be useful as it notifies the user of the re-registration.

Is it just me or do others have a problem with the ATA-186 de-registering? Every couple of hours, if I don't make use of the ATA connected line, I find that I have to unplug and let the ATA reboot. After that it is good to go for awhile, but eventually I have to repeat the process. My ATA sits behind a NATd firewall, any ideas what might cause the de-registration? Kim C. Callis

Hello, I have installed sacesfully Asterisk. I connected to that two ATA'a 186. I can call between them wihout a problem. Everything works fine. I' ve installed X-Lite on couple PC's and registered with Asterisk SIP proxy. Problem is now that I cannot call between ATA 186 and X-Lite. I can call from X-Lite to X-Lite and also ATA to ATA. Has anyone come across the Cisco ata 186 not passing *70? When I press *70, the ata just goes back to a dial tone. The strange thing is, its only *70 and not the reset of the 70's. *71, *72, etc all go through fine. I've tried removing the the dialplan all together from the ata to try and let it pass, but no go??? If I setup an IP phone to its extension, *70 goes through fine, so i know
