Cannot transfer after queue agent picks up c all
I had the same problem with snom 190 phones.
Using the transfer with # instead of "Transfer Button on the phone" worked
for me.
In my configuration "REFER" was not send, so the transfer with the button on
the phone did not work.

LiveVoip is Bankrupt - Why this thread
I agree with that fact the same questions get posted, but that problem
is compounded by the fact the archives are not really searchable. If the
were as lease some users would search.
The archives need to be fully indexed.

list Searchability
Great points Steve. I think the best we can do is all throw the newbies
a bone ounce in a while. Redirection to the content that is relevant is
enough to get most people on the path. Like you said, the hardest part
is not seeing the trees for the forest.
This is the whole "teach a man to fish" parable.
It is pretty easy to tell someone

Hmm,
My music on hold has always worked fine. But I discovered that under incoming
IAX2 calls they don't get any MOH! All I could find was a comment saying let
me know if you find a solution... Nor does the debugger does say:
	Started music on hold
So it's not starting the MOH, why? I do have it configured and it does play

Mailing to the list
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi,
A friendly reminder;
Many people have email software which is thread capable. This means that email
is sorted according to an email header, not the subject line.
When you press reply to an email it is then added to the thread of that email,
even if you type in a new subject. Thus we end up with multiple "threads" in
some threads.

I know I'm missing something obvious, but I cannot wrap my wits around this

So a call comes in and my snom ends up with this entry:

Now I want to just click OK and

Correct way to update Asterisk
Pardon the newbie post. I installed Asterisk on a "test" system using
the Asterisk@home cd image. When you boot from Asterisk@home is installs
an O/S and Asterisk on your PC. How cool is that. But I was wondering if
someone could point me in the right direction for updating the version
that I have.
I'm new to CVS, how do I determine what version to build? Is there a
primer on how to

VoIP experiences with Cable and DSL

Hi,
A thought occurred to  me;
Background;
In the early days of cable, the cable people seemed clueless to things like
over selling bandwidth. But as time went along they got it better and better
under control.
Of course their natural competitor, DSL, created a bigger demand for them to
get things under control.
Today cable is often giving

Cannot transfer with Cisco or Snom
I am having a hell of a time with transfers.
First the Snom issues:
The transfer button on the Snom 220 does not work. I have read about
setting break key off in the advanced page of the web config but the Snom
220 has no such option. At the moment I am having to use the # transfer
hack which makes this phone look really stupid to have buttons on it that
cannot be used. Anyone know how to

cluster analysis and supervised classification: an alternative to knn1?
Hi,
I have a 1.000 observations with 10 attributes (of different types: numeric,
dicotomic, categorical ecc..) and a measure M.
I need to cluster these observations in order to assign a new observation
(with the same 10 attributes but not the measure) to a cluster.
I want to calculate for the new observation a measure as the average of the
meausures M of the observations in the cluster

- New Security List -
I wanted to let everyone know that we have a new security list covering,
Security, of all things.
You can sign up at:

The idea here is to have a less busy list for security issues, as the -users
is hard to keep up with already. Fortunately there's already data known about
security and Asterisk. My interest is in being able to

I'm sure that this question gets asked frequently, but a quick perusal

What is the current state of asterisk on linux 2.6?
I ask, because I spent yesterday giving it a whirl, and everything

Asterisk Box as a Router, Firewall and DHCP Server
Hi,
I'm planning to get my Asterisk box out of the LAN,
get rid of my router and make the box acts as a
Router, Firewall, DHCP Server (with Shorewall).
I'll do that to be able to use some SIP clients
remotely.
Does anyone doing the same with the Asterisk box, is
it a good idea, is there any other solution for the
SIP emote Clients.
Regards.

Cluster Analysis:build a classifier?
Dear All,
I'm currently doing a project about unsupervised learning, and I'll be using
R to analyse a few network traffic datasets downloaded off Andrew Moore's
website
(http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/Research/SRG/netos/nprobe/data/papers/sigmetrics/index.html).
Could anyone shed some light on how to build a classifier from the training
set A, and then use a validation set B to assess the
