Asterisk and Cisco 7905G or Cisco 7912G
Hi,
How well to the Cisco 7905G or Cisco 7912G phone work with Asterisk? Cisco
claims both phones do SIP.
I was strongly considering Polycom phones. However, it appears to be quite
difficult to obtain support or firmware for Polycom phones. On the other
hand, I find Cisco is very well supported.
Thanks,
Adi

Cisco 7940/7960 and voicemailmain not able to press keys after a hold.
I have noticed a problem with the Cisco 7940/7960 phones where if
you put your voice-mail box on hold using soft keys and come back
you can no longer navigate. I am curious if anyone else can
duplicate this problem. Happens reliably for me with the 7940
phones.
I use rfc2833 for DTMF. I would think it was a Cisco bug, but
for the fact that this did not happen with older version of

Fwd:[Vocal] Question about Cisco IP hard phones
Interesting notes on the 79xx series.
The 7920 is the wireless phone; not mentioned here.
For a more complete guide to Cisco's phones, see:

The 7902 is the "very inexpensive" Cisco phone, and it looks like it
will be SCCP (Skinny) only. Twiddling my thumbs here waiting for the

RFC3389 support issue with DG104S
I am getting (with older image):
RFC3389 support incomplete. Turn off on client if possible
How do I turn that off for the DG104s? Or if I can't how do I tweak
asterisk?
I see posts about ATA-186's having an audiomode, but the closet I came
to was inbanddtmf. I tried =0 and =1, no effect.
Thanks!

Is anyone using Cisco 7905G phones?
I have a few Cisco 7905G phones and I having a little trouble configuring
them. They are working with Asterisk. I'm able to get the sip image
loaded, but I can't get the phones to blind transfer.
Does the Cisco 7905G Phone use XML Services?
If you are using the 7905G phone, would you post any of your configuration
files so I can try and figure out where I'm going wrong?
Thanks for

Cisco 7905G vs ATA186
Hi All,
I'm looking at getting some Cisco VoIP hardware to play with in
combination with a Asterisk server.
I've heard that there is beta software available to do SIP on the 7905G.
So, I'm thinking of either getting a 7905G or a ATA186.
My dillema is, which one to buy?
I can get both for about the same price, has anyone had any experience
with using a 7905G with Asterisk?

Cisco 7905G SIP firmware needed
To get the SIP firmware for these phones, you need to buy a Cisco
SmartNet support contract (about $75 USD in the USA, though I've heard
rumors a Europe-only contract exists for about $10 USD.) You can
purchase one through most Cisco resellers. That will give you access to
Cisco's download site. Configuration of these phones under SIP is not
quite as straight forward as it is with SCCP,

Cisco 7905G Firmware
I have had a 7905G lying around for the past 8 months and have just had
time to start setting it up with asterisk. I started following the
links on the wiki about where to download the firmware from cisco. I
signed up to cisco so I could apparently download the new firmware for
the phone, but it now seems I must purchase a support contract. Is this
correct? Is there any other way to get the

Cisco 7960 says "Protocol Application Invalid?"
I have been able to upgrade my Cisco 7905G phones to the SIP Image without
any problems, but I just got a 7960, and I can't seem to get to the settings
so I can upgrade to a SIP Image.
When the phone boots up, it says Configuring VLAN, Configuring IP, TFTP
????..., then Protocol Application Invalid.
I noticed on the wiki page "Firmware issues on 7940 - 7960"

Skinny and CISCO 7905G
Hello,
I tried to configure a cisco 7905 IP phone using the skinny channel but

7912G via SIP, looking for comments
Hello,
I'm looking for any comments or user experiences from anyone who is
using 7912G phones with SIP. Any installation issues? Usability
problems? Do the features seem to work, etc...In short, I'm looking for
your opinions on how suitable this phone is for an asterisk
implementation for approx. 10 users. Next logical question: what other
phones would you recommend for a situation

ATA-186 pass-through Flash
Hello all!
I have an FXO port on a cisco router that is directly connected to our PBX.
Our ATA-186 (firmware version 3) registers with asterisk, which connects to our cisco router's fxo port to give me a dialtone on our PBX from the ATA.
How do I pass the flash button to the PBX? It seems the ATA-186 wants to control the flash by putting my first call on hold and prompts me to dial another

miserable time with Cisco ATA186
I'm having a horrible experience getting a Cisco ATA-186 to work with *.
I can make calls from the ATA with no problems. However, incoming calls
make the ATA ring once, and then the call is disconnected. I have no
problems with my Sipura 2000 or my Grandstream phones.
I am running 2.16.1 sip code on the ATA 186. Neither * nor the ATA is
behind a NAT. They are both on public IP addresses

Cisco 7905G
Hi All
Just received my first 7905G from a distributer here in Sweden. According to the spec this phone should be able to use SIP. Now I been looking on Ciscos home pages for several hours trying to find a "SIP image" for this phone.
No luck at all, need special access to be able to download software to this phone. Is it the fact, that I have to pay for a contract of some kind to be
