Spandsp loading via asterisk app_rxfax.c broken pipe.
I have compiled Spandsp without any problems. I got no errors I have also done the patch without getting any error. I have tried pre4 and pre6 version with same problem. I got no errors with the ./configure make make install. After I add the directory for /var/local/lib into the /etc/ld.so.conf I have ran ldconfig. I am running asterisk as user asterisk on a RH 9 Linux distro. This system has

Softfax/spandsp Makefile.patch rxfax/txfax
I followed the instructions at http://www.opencall.org/instructions.html
and
http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2003-October/025094.html
I was able to compile spandsp (./configure ; make ; make install),
"manually" patched asterisk apps/Makefile (/usr/src/asterisk/apps), as the
supplied patch does not fit the actual CVS apps/Makefile
After make clean ; make install, I

spandsp 0.0.2
Hi all,
There is a test version for the next release of spandsp at
ftp://ftp.opencall.org/pub/spandsp/spandsp-0.0.2pre2 Only use this if
you wish to experiment. In general, using spandsp-0.0.1 is probably more
stable right now. If you have had problems with Canon FAX machines not
accepting FAXes from spandsp-0.0.1 you might like to try this version. I
have had at least one report from

I've installed spandsp-0.0.1k on a RHv9 box with CVS-HEAD-09/19/04 and
compiled the libraries just fine. Having a problem with patching the

Problem: Compiling error for SpanDSP app_rxfax
After resolving my earlier problem in updating the apps Makefile with the
patch for SpanDSP, I encountered another problem when I executed the "Make"
utility from /usr/src/asterisk. I obtained an error as shown below. Not
sure on how to resolve the problem.
gcc -pipe -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -Wmissing-prototypes

spandsp, app_rxfax: apps_Makefile.patch v1.2 > v1.4 = No Workie!
Hi Guys,
Looked at lotsa places on the Web/archives already.
Does anyone have a Makefile for Asterisk 1.4 that
integrates spandsp, app_rxfax, & app_txfax?
This patch sure doesn't work with the Asterisk 1.4
Makefile:

spandsp app_rxfax - the sending software loops
Hi,
After a hiatus of several months, I decided to try spandsp again
because it is such an excellent addition to asterisk. Using 1.0.3 and
spandsp 0.0.1k.
When I send a fax from a laptop software fax that works with every
machine I've ever had to fax to, I get something like this as staus
return from the fax sending software:
- Getting Local ID
- Getting Parameters
and it loops like this

spandsp and app_rxfax (alternative topic: t38modem)
Dear gods of the PBX (flattery works here, right?) -
I've been pulling my hair out trying to get Asterisk to receive and
decode a fax using spandsp and app_rxfax. It seems like it should be
working. The fax machine on the other end connects and Asterisk reports
a fax coming in. But when it's done all I have is a 2 or 3 KB TIF (see
attachment).
The console activity looks completely

Crashes with Spandsp, app_rxfax.c, and asterisk 1.4.4
Hi everybody,
I have a Fedora Core 4 x86 32 bit install, which I recently
upgraded from asterisk 1.2 to the office 1.4.4 tarball.
In the process of doing that I had to upgrade some
autoconf/automake stuff, but it worked fine, and my new asterisk
works fine.
Except that anytime I receive a fax with spandsp and app_rxfax,
asterisk seg faults.
I have applied the spandsp

spandsp Makefile.patch
OK...I pulled down spandsp 0.0.1k today and followed the instructions.
However, I'm not seeing a Makefile.patch anywhere. I've looked through
the last few months of messages and haven't found any reference to it
missing for anyone else either...so...what am I messing up here?
Thanks.

opencall.org is changing to soft-switch.org
Hi,
Anyone using my spandsp or unicall software please note that
opencall.org is shifting to soft-switch.org. HP have a line of telephony
products called Opencall, which were very obscure in 1999, when I
registered opencall.org. A search for "opencall" on Google back then
returned only references to theatrical agents. opencall.com and
opencll.net were theatrical sites. Now a search

asterisk 1.2.7.1 and app_rxfax
Hi!
After upgrading to asterisk 1.2.7.1 (from 1.2.4) it seems that app_rxfax
doesnt work any more.
I've installed spandsp-0.0.2pre25 (the same problem with
spandsp-0.0.3pre6.tgz ) app_rxfax.c, app_txfax.c and made the Makefile
patch from the same directory.
When starting asterisk I always get the follwing error message:

Softfax/spandsp
Hi all,
After a long time having no time, I have finally done some fresh work on
my software fax machine. I have replaced the original carrier tracking
with something more robust. I have also added 4800, and 2400 bits per
second modes, and cleaned up a few bugs in areas like superfine mode
operation. I apologise for this update taking so long.
At ftp://ftp.opencall.org/pub/spandsp you will

app_rxfax.c and app_txxfax.c where?
Hi All,
Where can I find copies of the app_rxfax.c, app_txfax.c and
apps_Makefile.patch. They don't seem to be located at soft-switch.org
anymore.
I am currently trying to compile Asterisk 1.2.26.1 and need the fax
components.
Thanks.
