Public switches (AXE10) not capable of handling sustained call setup bursts on E100P
Hi, I'm running a simple test from asterisk towards a public telco switch (AXE10) over E100P. Here is the test case: 1) 30 calls are setup simultainously, 20 sec ringing time. 2) no calls answers (just calling a vacant public tax office :=) 3) Each channel will continue on its own with the same proceedure: ring for 20 sec, then hangup, ring for 20 sec, and so on. Of course this leads to

ColourDialog
The ColourDialog (Darn Brits messing up the spellings of perfectly good words!) has a weird behavior. When you first open it you can''t select a color from the ''rainbow'' on the right side until you select a basic color on the left. I don''t think this was the case before we did the big inheritance change. Does anyone else remember if it worked properly

Asterisk, VoiceTronix & UK Caller ID
Hi All, Just a quick question, but I could really use some help on this one. I've got the CVS-Head of * installed and running, and am using a VoiceTronix OpenSwitch12 to connect to 12 analouge lines. I've got callerid activated by the Telco, and can get callerid using a std phone. However, using *, I always get an error 'Cannot decode callerid'. Does anyone know if I need to

detecting 1-900 and like exchanges
Is there a list somewhere that enumerates all known exchanges that charge for the call. I'm not even sure what this kind of thing is called so I've been kind of limited in knowing what to search for with Google. Thanks, Mike

All call between * boxes are rejected with "NO SUCH EXTENSION or CONTEXT" message, I've checked my

PRI integration with Marconi switch
Hello- Has anyone had experience connecting to a Marconi switch (in the UK) using E1-PRI connections (TE410P)? In a new installation, my customer is getting yellow alarms on every channel about every 30 seconds. These alarms clear themselves immediately and then re-occur in another 30 seconds, ad infinitum. I used the same configuration that I've used successfully in the past while talking

TDM400P > BT
Hi folks, Any Brits on the list got experience of hooking devices with standard BT plugs to the TDM400P? The TDM400P has the RJ11/RJ45 socket but I'm not sure if a standard adapter will do the trick or if we need to consider ring capacitors etc. Any links to buy the stuff would also be appreciated. Patch: Inbound-only busydetect
Hi there, I got really tired of false hangups, specially when someone calls from SIP/IAX/whatever to PSTN, which makes no sense in using busydetect in the zap channel, as the caller will eventually hear the busy tones and hangup, causing the zap channel to be "freed" as well... After suggesting that the busy detect be enabled only for inbound calls, and finding other people that think

[Fwd: Re: Adit 600 channel bank in UK setting]
Peter - 40 phones and only 3 PSTN trunks?. I would recommend at least 2 BRIs for this. If you have ISDN you can also get DDI to the extensions.I would strongly recommend abandoning the analogue PSTN lines and using ISDN. The setup pain you will go through will be significantly less, combined with better audio, more features (like DDI numbers!) and much more robust connections. You should look

RE: Samba locking problems
Hi Bernd, For now, we have backed down to 2.2.4. This seems to have solved our problems. This is frustrating, though, since we wanted to upgrade to at least 2.2.5+patches to possibly improve our situation with downloadable printer drivers. In my last post to the Samba mailing list, I mentioned that downgrading to 2.2.4 fixed my problems and asked for suggestions, but yours has been the only

It is due to nssldap

Problems with ISDN (NT-Mode) - Error Messages inside
Hello everyone, I try to connect the Asterisk PBX Server on my NTBA (NT1) - actually its "hard"-connected on the box, but I've tried a crosslink-ISDN cable, too. My ISDN-Phone is connected on one port (of two) S0-Ports on NTBA. When I start Asterisk and want to make a call I'll geht a lot of this messages --> 040827-034639 WARNING[213005]: chan_zap.c:6902 zt_pri_error:

Wow. I wasn't expecting such a voluminous reply -- some I agree with and some I don't. My apologies for an equally voluminous reply. IAX not binding to the right port
First, I am surprised at IAX... My asterisk server is behind a firewall, I am behind a firewall, and my iax client connected... Voodoo??? :) But, the firewall has one unblocked port, which I think I should set to the IAX, so the magic won't be necessary, and it makes sense to think that there will be less latency without the "magic layer". But, when I set port=myport in the

VPB Driver Question
Hi, I hope some can help me out, as I have a problem with the vpb driver in *, and I am hoping someone has hit these issues and can offer some advice. First off, I'm connected to a British Telecom SystemX exhange with the local Tel Co. I can ring out fine, but when the callee on POTS answers, the vpb driver detects a loop drop and immediantly disconnects the call. I have currently set

Hi there, I was looking for a GSM gateway, but I didn't find any prices... Anybody knows how much one of these costs? And, is it possible to use an amateur radio with asterisk? Thanks, Marconi.

UK experts only. BT Outgoing caller ID not showing
Hi Just moved offices in the UK and moved our Asterisk box from old one to new one. Using idefisk softphones, Junghanns quadbri card for ISDN 2e interfaces. At both offices we had one standard number and a DDI range, routed with Asterisk. We'd set up the configuration so each idefisk set its own caller ID which then got sent by the extensions.conf script. Worked fine at old place but in
