PRI/Zap premature dialing problem
The originating PRI system passes the entire dialed number in the d-channel
setup frame, thus the concept of a wait time for additional digits is
meaningless. Progressive digit gathering implies that the signalling is
occuring 'in-band' as would be the case with DTMF signalling on analog
lines.
You need to look in the Ascom and find the configuration table that lays out
the dialplan for

Ascom Ascotel 2050 & Fritz PCI Card (Capi)
Hello,
We have been trying to add asterisk to our Ascom Ascotel 2050 PBX. We have
a AVM Fritz!PCI Card connected to an S0 bus extension from the PBX. The
fritz card is configured to use chan_capi, and we can make calls SIP->SIP
SIP->PBX extension PBX extension->SIP all successfully, we have assigned
more than one PBX extension number to the S0 port in the Ascom PBX (it has
8 positions)

It's quiet. TOO quiet.
Whatever became of Ogg Theora?
There seems to be still almost no news from Xiph or its
developers regarding Ogg Theora. None at all since Mid-December,
when the release of Alpha 2 was pushed back to a month ago...
No news on plans for the second Alpha? No news of development
"roadmaps"? No news on current developments or challenges that
are stalling development? No CVS updates

* > Mobile Phone > Mobile Network
Ok I have a question. Seen it come and go around the mailling list for a
while but never really seen an answer that seems to sort it out.
What is needed is some interface from * > Mobile Phone > Mobile Network
Service.
At this point all the providers in AUS that I have found are charging a
Premium Rate for Land Line > Mobile Network services.
What I would like to do is be able to

IDEA support
hello!
one thing i'd like to see in OpenSSH is (optional) IDEA algorith support.
this would be useful especially in an environment which has a mix of old
ssh v1.2.x and OpenSSH installations. according to Ascom non commercial
use of IDEA is free (http://www.ascom.com/infosec/idea.html). also, there
are countries (e.g. Finland) where IDEA is not patented. here's a patch
suggestion for IDEA

OPUS implementation with FPGA
Hi,
We would like to use the OPUS codec @ 16 kHz sampling rate and max 32 kbps.
What about implementing an OPUS coder and decoder in an FPGA? Has this been done? Would either coder or decoder more suitable for FPGA implementation?
Best regards
Fredrik Bonde

RFC: Improving license & patent issues in the LLVM community
I really really do not like armchair lawyer discussions and this is
just flamebait if I've ever seen it...
---------------
#1 Is the submarine patent risk really that bad? (What's driving this)
#2 Pragmatically have "you" even considered how to execute on this
relicense plan?
a. What if one of the copyright holders doesn't agree?
b. What audit procedure do you plan to use

Voicemail timeouts after 30sec's everytime.
Ok I have a challange that I can't seem to find a way to fix it.
My Voicemail in * timesout after 30secs without fail everytime no matter
what I do.
I have incomming calls comming in through Freshtel IAX2, if it goes to
SIP extension when it is online it can hang on for what ever time the
call goes for.
If however it goes to the Voicemail it will timeout at 30sec and I can't
seem to

OPUS implementation with FPGA
Just to make sure, what's the goal here? Is the goal 1) to have a fast
Opus implementation or are you 2) looking for an interesting FPGA
implementation project? If 1), then an FPGA is most likely not necessary
since Opus is not computationally expensive. If 2), then it depends on
the desired size of the project and the desired quality. The simplest
encoder possible is indeed simpler than the

Hmm something strange.
I have been tring to send email to the List for the last day or so and
have not seen it come back on the list and have not seen any reponse's
to my email so I am unsure if it is making it to the list.
And I have also been seeing some of the same emails over and over again.
The list does not seem to have got back to 100% since it was down :(
My mail server works fine I am not having those

How to negotiate 'Opus/Celt only'?
Hi,
Since our device can only handle the Celt part of Opus (due to a MIPS limitation), we have two questions:
1. Is it possible to via SDP force the remote party to send a specific mode of the 32 different possible modes or to force the remote side to use CELT only?
2. In the reference implementation of Opus it looks like the only way to force the encoder to use CELT only

Couple of Questions for Australian Users!
Just a couple of questions for Aussie users/resellers!
I have only just started to look at asterisk a couple of weeks ago and
have found some very intresting discussions and some useful info on what
can and can?t be done with it and technology.
The questions i have is,
Are there people using it is Aussie?( I would say yes so prob answered
my own question ) :)
Hardware, is the digium

Asterisk VS. Skype
This might have been talked about before, but I'm posting anyhow.
I've got down to testing Asterisk yesterday, and I couldn't help but
compare it with Skype (a Windoze only product, yet, but extremely
efficient for some reason).
Skype has almost unperceptible delay (LAN), while there is almost half a
second of delay regardless of the codec on Asterisk.
An even if we were to

Swarm (win95 game) leaving fragments
Hi all,
installed the old space shooter Swarm and it is running fine pleased to
say except artefacts of lasers and rockets that have been fired staying on
screen for up to another 6 seconds.
This is as you can imagine a bit irritating as they move with and stay on
the screen.
Wine x.19. Have set the game to 'unmanaged' by the window manager as was
suggested here in another thread, but

[LLVMdev] /llvm/include/ADT/Trie.h?
In a discussion on IRC, Micheal was complaining about the semantics of StringSet, specifically how the iterators work.
DannyB mentioned that we have a Trie class, so I decided to check it out.
Lo and behold, I couldn't find _any_ uses of it, and when I deleted it from my system and did a clean rebuild, everything was fine.
Looking at the log, the last substantial change to this class was in

Purging /var/mail/username ?
Dovecot is delivering mail to my ~/.mail directory wonderfully. But
/var/mail/michael is growing steadily.
Is it the job of Dovecot to purge this file regularly? Is there a setting
somewhere for this?
Thanks,
Michael

Bug repository awakening
Looks like reports from the last month are trickling in. 170 of them in
incoming, but there's a lot of spam. I hope Martin's spamfilters are
less leaky that ours, so that they get killed en route to r-devel....

steadily increasing/high loadavg without i/o wait or cpu utilization
Hi all,
I just installed centos 5.4 xen-kernel on intel core i5 machine as dom0.
After some hours of syncing a raid10 array (8 sata disk) I noticed a
steadily increasing loadavg. I think without reasonable i/o wait or cpu
utilization the loadavg on this system should be very lower. If this
loadavg is normal I would be greatful if somone could explain why. The
screenshots below show that there is

Strategy for penalising IPs with too many simultaneous sessions
Hi all,
I have been trying to investigate traffic shaping in an effort to solve
the "unfriendly network apps" problem on a test network.
I have a basis by which I''d like to shape traffic, but studying the
howto doesn''t uncover and existing qdisc that seems to fit what I would
like to do.
The problem I would like to address is to prevent an IP address opening
