Re: Problem converting a Cisco 7960 to SIP
Hello all, I've got myself into a bizzare situation that I can't seem to get myself out of... Was wondering if anyone had some advice that might get me 'over the hill' on this... Some background: PBX consists of an Asterisk box (running TrixBox), 4 Cisco 7960's, 2 Polycom IP500's, and now an additional Cisco 7960. The phones are all on a separate LAN. There is

FreeBSD 100% cpu
Compiled Asterisk from FreeBSD port (0.9.0_2) When I start asterisk it uses 100% cpu. Searches on Google say to comment the noload => chan_oss.so in modules.conf But this is already commented. Make.conf contains some optimizations. modules.conf: ; Asterisk configuration file ; ; Module Loader configuration file ; [modules] autoload=yes ; ; If you want, load the GTK console right away. ;

Cisco 7960 upgrades
Hi, I got a problem of having to upgrade 35 Cisco 7960 phones from default firmware of 3.1 to 7.5. The problem I get is that when trying to upgrade I see on the tftplog that it can't seem to find the file (8 character issue). So I renamed the files to suit what is supposed to be in them. I am trying incremental upgrades from 3.1 -> 5.3 -> 7.5, with no luck. It goes to

Cisco 7940 Configuration
Hello all, I recently purchased a Cisco 7940 IP phone to do some testing with (to validate a migration to asterisk for our internal PBX needs). I understand that I need to update the phone for it to support SIP, so I configured the phone with an IP address and pointed it at my tftp server. Cisco 7940g Firmware load problems
I have a Cisco 7940G IP Phone. I am trying to load the firmware to SIP 3.2. The Phone just hangs in Defaulting CM to TFTP Server. It doesn't do anything else after that. I also have two other 7940g's that are the Universal Application Loader mode and say Protocol Application Invalid. I need to know what I can do to fix both these problems. I am running Asterisk@Home version 1.0. I have to

Upgrade cisco SIP phone 7940
Hi All, My current 7940 phones use P0S3-06-3-00. I'd like to upgrade them so they're not massively out of date. I found a page at http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+phone+cisco+79xx that gives some info, and using the cisco links there have tried to upgrade. According to the procedures, I should be able to upgrade, but once the phones loaded and reboots it says it downgrades

Dear All, I'm trying to configure my new phone Cisco 7960 to work with asterisk. I followed http://www.asteriskguru.com/tutorials/cisco_7960_ip_phone_configuration.html and I got into the point where I can see on the the display line indication showing "55 <phone icon with x>" so it looks like the phone is not registered. The phone and the asterisk are in the same local
