Wanted: free DID number and provider feedback
Ok, I see there's alot out there of voip providers.
Curious what to watch out for ? charges and fee's, etc ?
If anyone has feedback as to a GOOD voip provider experience (one that
gave FREE DID) Please share.
Again, I am doing this to learn about asterisk, I'm currently testing
it at home.
thanks,

delivery of the signal, and route the signal around internally digitally,
if you have ISDN. This means, for example, that our USR Courier I-Modem,
which can terminate a 56K call *digitally*, results in my being able to
make a 56K connection from most modern cities here in the US, without
wasting an ILEC ISDN BRI line dedicated to that purpose, by having the

BRI in the US?
OK, I asked this about a week back and met with no repsonse at all. But
perhaps its worth trying again.
Does anyone on-list have * running BRI to their local telco? I'm
considering this as an alternative to my TDM400p card.

Asterisk SIP attacks and sshguard
Hello,
We had been seeing SIP-guessing attacks on our Asterisk server here.
While it wasn't that hard to write a once-a-minute cron job to spank
the lusers, that runs once a minute and creates little spikes in the
usage and I/O graphs, and is slower to respond than I'd really prefer.
I felt that it'd be much cooler to get something more comprehensive
put together. We don't use

Asterisk BRI in the USA
Hey all,
It such a shame that BRI technology is such a flop in the USA. For a
small office such as mine it would be a great product. So her goes my
question.... What is a known asterisk working BRI card that will
operate in the USA. I need to weigh price/quality. I need to do
DID/DDI (or what ever you want to call it). Asterisk will do everything
else I need. The ILEC has at the other

General help for a function I'm attempting to write
Hello,
I have written a small function ('JostD' based upon a recent molecular
ecology paper) to calculate genetic distance between populations (columns in
my data set). As I have it now I have to tell it which 2 columns to use (X,
Y). I would like it to automatically calculate 'JostD' for all combinations
of columns, perhaps returning a matrix of distances. Thanks for any help

PRI Lines not being answered (No User Responding)
Hello! Continuing my PRI saga - I have a PRI setup and appears to be
answering calls OK, but my carrier is cutting all the calls after 15
seconds. For example, when I call from my cell phone, it goes
straight to a busy signal - however the CLI shows the call coming in
and being answered. Additionally, when I call from another ground
line, it will ring once or twice, again show as answered, but

BRI and E1 in same system
Hi-
Anyone using the Junghann's quad BRI card and the Digium E100P in the same
system?
I'm having a configuration problem where I can configure the cards one at a
time (with the appropriate drivers loaded) in a system, but when I try them
both together, neither will work. They both work fine one at a time.
Probably has something to do with the channel numbering.

External BRI - is there such thing?
Hello folks!
I wonder if, the same way we've got external FXO's (SIPURA's and the
like), there is the possibility of having external BRI's so ISDN lines
could be connected to Asterisk via LAN.
I am considering running Asterisk on a MacOS X machine, and, even if I
opt for Linux on an i486 machine, I'd still like to go external.
Any comments on this would be higly appreciated.

[PRI] TE110P
We are in the process of installing a PRI line and we are going to connect
it to an Asterisk Box.
Verizon called us today to find out some information. I am surprised that
they have never heard of Asterisk or Digium. But anyways, they needed some
information in order to set up the circuit.
Does the TE110P support NI1 or NI2? (I think the answer is both)

Best dahdi switchtype to emulate (network side)?
We are connecting a new device to our voice system, and the vendor has
a whole list of "supported" network devices and associated parameters
for the Telco to adjust... Yes, it's the telcos issue... Anyway, out
of all of the swtich types that dahdi can emulate, what is the most
complete/tunable solution?
The premise for those interested is a PRI connection to a Dialogic

best ISDN BRI solution for DID
I want to test asterisk with its DID functions on a smaller scale without the expense of a PRI. I am in the US, and want the most reliable/stable, and feature rich solution that I can have.
What ISDN card would be reccommended?
My clec switch operator says he can/will send DID info to my BRI's if I wish. Can Asterisk, or one of its addons support this?
What BRI solution would be

Xyratex disk units
I am wondering if any one knows of a way to manage Xyratex disk shelves from CentOS (in particular CentOS 4).
More details:
Some years ago I installed a NAS unit from Exanet which consists of 2 rebadged IBM x3650 head nodes and a couple of Xyratex disk shelves with a total of 96 TB of raw disk, connected by fibre channel. The operating system is based on CentOS 4.4, but is modified, and runs a

I can only presume some form of precedence overrides the group configuration
in the recent asterisk installs and not for the servers set up earlier.

HP/Compaq T700H UPS cable pinout
Hello all,
I have obtained a Compaq T700 H UPS sans-cable. My research indicates it
would've come with a HP #201092-001 cable, and from previous posts on
this list, it speaks upscode2, possibly being a rebadged Eaton unit.
Any suggestions for cable pinouts I can try?

Dlink dph-140s/ACT P104SLD
I'm still a learning but I purchased a dph-140s to test with AAH 1.5. I
think this is a rebadged ACT P104SLD which others seem to have working with
*. It seems to be configured and registered similarly to the softphones I've
been using just fine, but it does not receive or send audio (it will send
audio to vm), or perform the loopback test. It seems to signal and receive
calls fine. The

HP T/R2200 G2
Has anyone had any success with the HP T/R2200 G2? I have used the
T/R2200 with nut a few times before and it works great, but the G2
doesn't want to talk to me.
I have tried bcmxcp from 2.0.4, 2.2.2, and svn, as well as the usb
drivers. Maybe the G2 isn't a rebadged powerware unit?
Thanks

IAX2 - providers discontinuing support
What is wrong with IAX2 protocol?
If IAX2 is so much better than SIP so why providers discontinuing support for IAX2
I was with provider "callwithus" but they discontinue IAX2
I switched to "checkbox.cc" but they discontinued it as well.
What is wrong with IAX2?
