Voice from one call carried on to next call
I have set up asterisk with an ISDN card using i4l. When I place a call from ISDN to a SIP client, there is about a one-second delay from a word is spoken to it is heard at the other end. The funny thing, is that the last second or so of each call is saved somewhere in the depths of Asterisk and then played back at the beginning of the next call. I have read it is a known problem, can

Unblocking incoming SIP
I have just set up my first Asterisk, and I have the basics up an running. I have set it up with two SIP phones only. I can call between them, and I can call out to FWD phones. However, on receiving calls from FWD, my Asterisk blocks the calls with the following message: May 30 20:19:24 NOTICE[180236]: chan_sip.c:6397 handle_request: Failed to authenticate user <user>

i4l --> capi move - how?
I have * with i4l installed and working - on a dumb eicon card. It seems in order to get DTMF out of the BRI (for business banking - etc) - I should change from i4l drivers to capi drivers. wiki help seems to be for the Fritz card only...??? I have ticked the suggested boxes in 'menuconfig', explored the capi4linux websites - etc... but am missing some magic. I've "modprobe

cheap HFC card on Bristuff vs cheap HFC card on i4l vs Fritz ISDN BRI card on CAPI
Hello I have asterisk running in Red Hat 9 with a cheap HFC card on i4l. I have choppy sound problems sometimes, and echo problems often. I am using a 2 port Grandstream ATA, Grandstream BT and a Grandstream GPX-2000 I read that changing to BriStuff will fix the echo problems, but have also read other users say that the only way they solved the echo/choppy sound problems was using a Fritz ISDN

can't install 1.0.3
Hello list, I have been running Asterisk CVS for a good while. When I try to install 1.0.3, asterisk won't start. Below are the last few lines of output before Asterisk crashes. I ran "make samples" to start with a fresh setup. [app_read.so] => (Read Variable Application) == Registered application 'Read' [app_alarmreceiver.so] => (Alarm Receiver for Asterisk) ==

chan_capi won't compile
I am trying to compile chan_capi 3.3.4a, but I end up with lots of gibberish. Near the top it states that capi20.h doesn't exist. Searching for the file, several show up: # find / -name capi20.h -print /usr/src/linux-2.4.21-144/include/config/isdn/capi/capi20.h /usr/src/linux-2.4.21-231-include/smp/include/config/isdn/capi/capi20.h

asterisk + i4l problems
Hello! Im pretty new of asterisk world: my goal would be using iaxcomm to call ppl over POTN. Yesterday i configured asterisk to be able to hear a song (with Playback() command) with iaxcomm, and it was wonderful. Now, today i tried to configure asterisk to use my ISDN4Linux supported card (a plain HFC card) with asterisk. i configured modem.conf this way, after reading

(euro)ISDN: complete silence / can't hear a word.
Hello, I just got my isdn-card working together with i4l and asterisk. Everything seems to be working fine: I can accept calls coming from the outside and I can dial out. Even setting the msn works like charm but my problem is that I cannot hear a word. There's complete silence in both directions. Any idea what could be the cause? Thanks for your help, Gunther Lspci: 0000:01:07.0 Network

ISDN connection problem (i4l, not asterisk)
Sorry for a slightly off-topic question, but I'm getting desperate. I tried to use asterisk to talk w/ ISDN line and tracked the problem to i4l. I have a Diva PCI 2.02 (S/T) card and am running RH8 w/ 2.4.20 kernel (first version that supports the 2.02 w/ hisax driver). The switch is a 5ESS running NI-1 protocol. The card sync's up and reports other traffic on the line, but fails to

Floating point exception help
Hi Manfred, I applied the patch and recompiled and reinstalled and I got the folowing warning during my first test call: Aug 19 12:26:51 WARNING[294927]: dsp.c:1234 __ast_dsp_silence: zero length packet It looks like that could be the problem... and the fix! I'll let you know if the problem reoccurs. Might it be an idea to submit the patch to the bugtracker? Thanks, Gary ----- Original

chan_capi or chan_mISDN vs bristuff
Hi list! I'm currently using a HFC-S card for my ISDN BRI line with bristuff. The instability is driving me crazy however. I'm having continuous problems where inbound calls will not work after some time of operation (the number then appears as not in use to the caller) or also outbound calls do not work. The solution is to unload the modules, stop asterisk, re-load the modules and

Unable to call some numbers with I4L
Hi all, I have an EICON DIVA PCI 2.02 with I4L. I'm unable to call some numbers, in general numbers with automatic responders that do not rings. It's seems asterisk does not understand that the other party has answered, so after a timeout it reports 'busy', but in real the other end has answered. Any other call to a "normal" number works fine. Did somebody experience
