Has anyone tried using a Sipura-3000 as an FXO device for *?
I am considering using Sipura-3000s as FXO devices for my * system. Has anyone tried them in that configuration? They interest me because they need no PCI slots and therefore no drivers. I would much prefer not to have any special kernel requirements for my system. /carmi

Comparisons between * and sipXpbx (PingTel's open source product)
Has anyone compared * to sipXpbx? From a cursory look, this open source version of PingTel's PBX has many features that make it more suitable as a replacement for a traditional PBX, including the ability for users to tell if a phone/trunk is in use. What I am trying to figure out is what I'd give up using sipX instead of * (and vice versa). /carmi

DID VoIP trunk provider for metro Chicago, LA and/or Orlando.
I am looking for a provider that will provide an equivalent of DID/DOD trunks via IAX, IAX2 or SIP using numbers in Metro Chicago (prefer Skokie), LA (prefer West Hollywood or Venice), and/or Orlando (prefer Winter Garden). If I can migrate some of my existing numbers using LNP, that would be even better, but it is not a requirement. While I know that there are several companies that will

drive space for voice mail
Drive space for voice mail I've looked in the dimensioning information on voip-info.org but can't find any hard information on the amount of drive space the various codecs use. Since we would eventually like to support web-based voice mail retrieval, I'm thinking of the wav format. I've specced out 2x160GB drives in RAID-1 (software RAID via Linux) for the box. It will be

Having * show lines in use on hard phones.
I am trying to figure out is * can be configured so that users would have a similar experience to what they receive on a legacy PBX. For example, on a merlin legend (or similar PBX), I have phones that have shared call appearances so that my assistant can answer my calls or see that I am on the phone, or so that I can have one phone on my desk and one at my conference table. This means that

I'm replacing a Merlin for a client and they have a PagePal Intercom that I would like to reuse. Here is what I know about it: It has a screw-down wires that goto rj-11 (This was told to me over the phone) that went into one of the Merlin ports. I tried bring it up with fxo_ks and fxo_ls (assuming it was analog and autoanswered) but no luck. I would be happy to replace if anyone knows of

Merlin Legend
I have a legacy pbx that I know nothing about. The PBX is a merlin legend system (now owned by avaya). I have found information on the list that I can use a 100D T1 card to bridge the PBX to an asterisk system. We are looking to head this route as well as replacing are AUDIX VM system with Asterisk. Has anyone done this that wouldn't mind sharing some of the merlin specific setup?

asterisk T100P to Merlin Legend
Management just approved purchase of a Digium T100P and a T1 card for our Merlin Legend Switch. I will appreciate comments from anyone performing this installation before: - Which T1 card did you use in the Merlin Legend? - Did you require any special interface? (CSU/DSU, etc) - Any items to watch during installation. Also we will need to remove one of our old analog Trunk cards to accomodate

Migration to Asterisk - Running off of Merlin Legend system
We currently have a Merlin Legend system. The voicemail is falling apart (with the transition to a 10 digit timestamp on Sept. 8, 2001, the system locked up and refused to take calls; the official solution is to change the system time back to a year with a matching calendar). We are in the process of preparing the network infrastructure to support a VoIP system with Asterisk, but won't be

Merlin Magix Integration
Hi List, Merlin Magix hardware v02 I'm trying to get asterisk to act as a voicemail server for a lucent merlin magix PBX that we purchased used. We have 4 FXO channels between the two PBXs on a Sangoma A200 card. The 770 dialgroup is working properly, in that calls to 770 are answered by Asterisk. The magix is sending mode codes in the format #XX#XXX#, where the 2nd block of digits

Merlin Legend integration not routing calls back to PSTN.
Folks, I have a Merlin Legend R7 V10.0 with a 2 100D cards. I have 1 card in slot 4 going to CenturyTel, and the card in slot 10 going to a flip cable to a TE110P card in a Asterisk 1.6.x box. I have routing setup on the Merlin to send a block of numbers to the Asterisk. Currently the PSTN can dial the Asterisk Extensions. The Asterisk can dial Merlin Extensions. The Merlin can Dial Asterisk

Applications used in the Rails video?
Hi all, I just watched the rail video: http://www.rubyonrails.org/media/video/rails_take2_with_sound.mov I am just curious. I can tell that the video was done on a Mac, but I cannot tell which applications were used for editing the code, and for interfacing with MySQL database. As far as editing source code, I normally use BBEdit (I''ve used it since 1994), but the editor used in

I am trying to install R in Linux 8.0 and I downloaded "R-1.7.1-1.i386.rpm" and did rpm -hiv R-1.7.1-1.i386.rpm and I am getting the following message: warning: R-1.7.1-1.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 97d3544e error: Failed dependencies: libblas.so.3 is needed by R-1.7.1-1 Then I went and look for libblas (which is a linear algebra library) that I found in
