Friends, After listening to Mark Summer's keynote at Astricon (hopefully soon on the Astricon web site) I think we should come back to the discussion he started. Mark talked about using Open Source in general and Asterisk in particular in third world projects as well as in emergencies in other countries. He and Inveneo help groups of people to get a better understanding of how to build

Has anyone really looked at the costs for Astricon. But the hotel costs. $111.00 USD per night.. come on guys give me a break. I will not be staying at that hotel. I can rent a car and stay near the air port for almost half that. In addition from what I have been told their will be no shuttle service from the Airport to the hotel. Anyone else have any input on this? bkw_ PS: I'm going

Who is going to AstriCon (TheAsteriskConference)?
Well I'm stunned no one has suggested a webcast option. I mean we aren't talking a bunch of people unable to grasp the concepts of chat/voice/vision sessions with a log in/remote display capability. If you think this is an option let me know I have someone who has some software they wouldn't mind stress testing as a trial. Cheers, Dean > -----Original Message----- > From:

AstriCon offers a most sincere and humble apology for the barage of mail...
Dear Asterisk Community, I would like to offer my most humble apology for the enormous stream of mail messages currently battering at your mailboxes. I was honestly trying to help a worthy cause. Please blame me and only me. Neither Russell nor Josh are at all to blame for this. Nor, for that matter, is Olle. I am the guilty party. Please direct all anger/outrage/hatred/etc. towards

[Asterisk-Dev] RE: [Asterisk-biz] Asterisk training andcertification :: AstriconTraining
I feel this is a slap in the face for those of us that have been here and I don't feel I should HAVE to pay to be certified... I think me and MANY others are about to walk out of the project over this. I have already spoken with many people that are close to the project. You're hurting US and our ability to make money. I still know the code better than most of the people that will be

Asterisk GUIs at Astricon * REMINDER *
I'm working with the final details of the Astricon agenda. I haven't got anything so far on Asterisk GUI's and there are plenty of projects out there. I would like to invite developer's of Asterisk GUI's, both open source and commercial, to participate. What I'm thinking of is giving each GUI a slot of 10-15 minutes for a presentation and then a panel discussion on the GUI

Astricon Conference Call?????????
I know this is probably way out there but............ Would it be possible to set up a (Asterisk based) conference call (per se) with the presentations at the upcoming Astricon conference via IAXtel (or something similar) so that people who are not able to attend could join a Meetme conference (listen only) and listen to the content. There maybe bandwidth issues but this would certainly be an
