[Asterisk-Users] [Asterisk-Dev] RE: [Asterisk-biz] Asterisk training andcertification :: AstriconTraining
I feel this is a slap in the face for those of us that have been here and I don't feel I should HAVE to pay to be certified... I think me and MANY others are about to walk out of the project over this. I have already spoken with many people that are close to the project. You're hurting US and our ability to make money. I still know the code better than most of the people that will be paying to be certified. You're pushing it here. I REFUSE TO PAY!!! I know you guys mean well but you didn't take any of us into account that know this software and know it well. bkw> -----Original Message----- > From: asterisk-biz-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-biz- > bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Olle E. Might have been an idea to come up with a Testing course first for those who think they are good enough and if they are they can pass and become the support/trainers for * in the future. Just my thoughts. And as I said above Please don't leave you guys are way to mucch support for us newbies! [Asterisk-Users] [Asterisk-Dev] RE: [Asterisk-biz] Asterisk training andcertification :: AstriconTraining
I'm in agree with Brian for the following reasons: - By principle I'm against the certification: it is not a proof of knowledge. - Certification is discriminatory: only the people from the "first world" should be certificated, USD $ 3.275,00 is one year salary for many engineers in developing countries. If you add travel, hotel, etc. it can reach 2 year salary. Why they do not post the 150 question exam in the web and provide certification for peoples who answer correctly? Free of course. Get out your wallets boys if you want to get sucked in by this line Microsoft did it and sucked in a bunch. that certification and a 3.50 will get you a coffee at starbucks. IT jobs are in the dumper anyway, so again why? do you honestly think you are going to be asked for your asterisk certification when you go for a job???? Maybe if you want to work at digium. I think they (digium) should spend more time on making cards that work, read truth in advertising, not stretch the truth in advertising, and support the things they advertise, let's see I think not supporting hdlc after they say the card supports is comes to mind. this one's free
