Asterisk on MS Virtual Server
Hi,
This might not be a very popular question, but I was just wondering if
anyone have ever tried to run Asterisk on a Windows computer using Microsoft
Virtual Server
(http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/virtualserver/default.mspx).
I am told that you can run Linux on a virtual server using this software, so
in theory it should be possible.
I run a windows based domain, but am also

yet another Asterisk and VMware question
I looked through this forum and other lists trying to get a definitive
answer to the VMware question...
I have a Windows 2003 Server box that is my development machine. It is fully
loaded with many s/w packages, dev tools, etc. It's not very feasible to
convert this box to Linux without losing an awful lot of stuff.
On it, I'm running VMware GSX 3.1.0. Under VMware, I have a

First time class problems
Hi,
I''ve just had my very first attempt of making a JavaScript class,
"prototype" style, so please bare with me, for any disastrous errors :-)
Anyway, I''ve made this class, which is called on an input field on focus:

It works fine in FireFox, but causes some problems in IE. My question is
regarding line 69 in the paste. What is

TE405P w/ Intel SE7210TP1_E Motherboard
Hello,
I'm looking at building a couple new PRI Gateway boxes using
TE405P cards, and was wondering if anyone has had any experiences (good or
bad) with the Intel SE7210TP1_E motherboards from Intel. General Technics
builds some really nice (and cost effective) 1U servers based on the
board:

Grandstream Early Dial
I have upgraded my grandstream phone from firmware 1.0.3.78 to 10.0.4.30 and now I am having problems with early dial. On the older firmware earlydial worked fine with my asterisk server, but now as soon as I have dialed the number I get a congested tone, and the number 4 flashes up on the LCD screen.
Has anyone had this problem, and if so, how do I fix it?

WinPcap Installer is invisible!
I'm trying to install WinPcap for a program, but when I try to run the installer, the window is invisible. I know it's there cause a shadow momentarily pops up and it shows up on the taskbar, but there is nothing there.
I also tried to install Cain and Abel, but an error popped up saying something about not being able to access a temp file... I eventually just installed it on my Windows

fractional factorial design in R
Hi,
i need to create a fractional factorial design sufficient to estimate the
main effects.
The factors may have any number of levels, let's say any number from 2 to 6.
I've tried to use the library conf.design , but i cannot figure out how to
write the code.
For example, what is the code for a design with 5 factors (2x3x3x5x2) and
only main effects not confounded?
thanks in advance!

Comedian Mail User Guide
Is there a user guide for Comedian Mail? I need to give some training
materials to my end users.
So far, I have been unable to find anything through google or the Digium
site.
THanks,

Shapley Values
Hi,
I am trying to compute the Shapley Values between a set of p independent
variables (x1, ..., xp) and the dependent variable y to study the
relationships.
I believe that the package "kappalab" could be an appropriate choice.
Is anybody able to give me some hints about the code I should write?
Any better package?
thanks in advance!

extraction - subsets
Hi everybody,
let us assume i have the following matrixX and vectorY
matrixX <- runif(100)
dim(matrixX) <- c(10,10)
vectorY <- as.matrix(as.character(seq(1,10)))
if I define:
subsample<-c("2")
i can extract the rows from matriX based on the elements in vectorY which
are listed in subsample
matrixX[vectorY==subsample]
if I define subsample with more than 1 element, such

Debian Unstable Claims Asterisk 1.0-1
Howdy,
I just did an "apt-get dist-upgrade" on my Debian unstable box,
and noticed that the Asterisk version appears to be 1.0-1 in the unstable
tree. I KNOW that 1.0 hasn't been released yet, so I am wondering who is
responsible for the Debian packages? This will be VERY VERY confusing for
people and it should be corrected ASAP.

Nat Traversal help!
Hello All,
I have a number of X-Lite users in countries where the incumbent Telco will
do anything to block VOIP traffic.
For some reason neither the X-Lite broadband or dialup clients would
register with my server unless we configure them to use the Xten Xtunnels
demo server. Once the Client has registered the call quality is great! The
problem is the Xtunnels does not support other IP Hard

2 HD, same PC
Hello,
I have two hard drives on one PC. One is a Windows XP drive and the
other is a Linux (redhat 9.0) drive. I want Linux to recognize and
share files on the XP drive. Where is there documentation addressing
this situation? Because now I work mostly with my Linux environment, I
wanted to access the XP drive from Linux.

Choosing a VoIP Phone
Greetings all,
My next step is to purchase a nice VoIP phone for my desk. I have a grandstream, and the sound is great, but I'm looking for more of an office style phone, preferably that can handle multiple lines, has a more flexible display (i.e. name as well as number). SIP would be preferable.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Eric
