Mdk 9.1, samba-LDAP 2.2.8a/3.0b3 (LDAP) can't print to z53
I've not been able to get Samba to print to a Lexmark Z53. If I call it a Z52, the driver uploads (to where, I have no idea so I can't check it) but I still can't get anything out of the printer.

Letter instead of A4 with driver installed via Samba's Point'n'Print
Hello everyone, I have already asked for this the cups list/newsgroup, but it seems to me that this might be more a question about Samba. According (hopefully) to these howtos I have setup printers and prepared their cups postscript drivers to be installed automatically via Samba and the so called Point'n'Print method: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-456501-highlight-.html

Printing problem with CUPS and lp/lpr
I know that printing on Linux is somewhat of an art form, but I have a fairly simple problem. I used the following command to configure a networked printer (HP LaserJet 8150): lpadmin -p name -E -v socket://name -m laserjet.ppd -u allow:all - u deny:none This added and enabled the printer, and I can print to it using the print command from within a GUI application and PostScript

Samba + Cups + Filter Access
Hi, I'm trying to use Cups + Samba to make a print server for many purpouses. The main one is to account how many pages where printed by whom and centralize all printers in one server. If I configure samba and cups in the RAW mode using windows original drivers of the printers, everything works fine, but this way I can't use cups accounting. So I reinstaled all my printers

cups printing
I have searched around the samba documentation, including the smb.conf man page, and have found nothing regarding the cups printing system except change printcap to cups. Now, I have done that, but printing still does not work. I need some types of details and a sample smb.conf and/or any other relevant documentation. Thanks much, George D. Plymale

"Additional Drivers" and Print Window Refresh
I have RTFM'd, so excuse me if I missed something in the manual. :) 1) When I attempt to add additional drivers (the inital driver worked just fine, when using the instructions in John's HOWTO), I get the following error: "The printer driver you selected is either not compatible with your current version of Windows, or it may not be available. Select a compatible driver from the

Hi there, I'm newbie in Samba, so I beg for your excuse if my questions are stupid. Is it possible to use Samba as a "paid-for-print" server? If U know something about another free "paid-for-print" software, please let me know. 10x in advance, -- Julian

Why I can't set some default printer options for my HP 1015 + CUPS printer ??
Hi, Everyone! I've installed samba + print$ driver + cups successfully on my Debian Box, and I've made a simple page count program for the printed PCL and postscript files, it runs nicesly, but one problem I encountered is that I can't check the "Advanced " option on for the samba printer (I've tried to check them, but it does not take effect), while I can do it well

Setting up CUPS for Samba on 390
I've scoured the newsgroups and asked MANY people, does anyone out there have any ideas ? I'm new to the CUPS arena and I'm trying to figure out what to do from the separate docs. I'm using SLES7 (2.4.7 kernel). The files I'm using are: 4368072 May 22 06:22 cups-1.1.19rc5-source.tar.gz 197341 May 22 06:22 cups-samba-1.1.19rc2.tar.gz 4961128 May 22 07:58

more Updates to the Printing Chapter of HOWTO Collection
Hi, I have updated the Draft for the Printing Chapter of the new Samba 3.0 HOWTO-Collection. The version now is 0.94beta9. (That means I regard it as 94% finished.... hmmm, the last 6% seem to be harder than the first 60 ;-) It is available at http://www.linuxprinting.org/kpfeifle/SambaPrintHOWTO/ A PDF version (for convenient printing) is also there. What am I missing here?!
OK, I've tried changing my printcap name from printcap to cups. Printing works fine locally using CUPS on the Samba box. What am I missing here? Why can't I print to the Samba box via the Windows and linux clients? Shared directories work fine. I am really frustrated here and have exhausted Google and all other resources I have. Here's my smb.conf for what it's worth.

Samba+CUPS+Driver autodownload
Hi, I'm trying to get Samba to offer the Adobe driver automatically for the two printers I have set up with CUPS. I have all of the necessary files plucked out of the Adobe Postscript Windows driver package, but I'm hitting the problem when I come to run "cupsaddsmb -v ..." that the "rpcclient adddrivers" command always fails with NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL. The drivers
