Cisco 7960 and Voice Mail
I search Google to find how to get the message light to flash on my
Cisco 7960 running (Application Load ID POS3-06-3-00) (Boot Load ID
PC03M030) (DSP Load ID PS03AT38)
All I see is about the sip.conf file witch mine has the mailbox=XXXX but
still no light. Also the messages button does not work.
Any ideas?

OT: MWI on Treo 600/650
My cell vm goes to asterisk, not the carrier. Apparently MWI is turned
on/off with specially formatted SMS messages. Anyone know how to do this
on a Treo 600? Having the phone light from Asterisk would be HUGE ...
not to mention extremely cool.

Fwd: Re: Asterisk as a Condo door opener/intercom
Asterisk as a phone system makes perfect sense in a condo. You can get
all the DID's you want and eliminate costs for the owners. You can offer
standard FXO for people who don't care and IP sets for people who want
to "upgrade" to feature sets.
Your door openner is a piece of cake.

Cisco 7960 / SIP & tftp configs
I have three questions about my 7960 phone that I can't discern from the
docs/wiki.
1st - If I change the SIPxxxxxx.cnf file to change registrations it sets
up new lines as expected. If I delete a line it doesn't get removed when
I reboot the phone. I have to go to the phone, unlock it, and reset the
SIP parameters. How do I make it "forget" what it has programmed and

SPA-2000 and time of day
Kevin Walsh noted that his SPA-2000 takes time from his local NTP server
in a post back on Fri June 25.
Q: Where do you tell it to use NTP?
I'm a bit confused as to where my SPA-2000 is currently getting its
time. I told it GMT-5 in the misc section but it doesn't really tell me
where its going for this. Is it just broadcasting looking for ntp?
The net of my problem is that it is 1 hour

SPA-3000 and distinctive ring
I'm looking to give the SPA-3000 a whirl as I'm having too much
difficulty with the irq sharing thing inside the box.
I'm reading the book but without having one in-hand to play with it
appears a little obtuse at this time. Before I drop down my money can
someone with some hands-on with one of these confirm if the SPA-3000
can:
a) detect inbound distinctive ring (this looks to me like

Re: Toronto
It looks like this meetup group is becoming the venue for contact as
most "Toronto" respondents have signed up here. Can I request that the
remainder who responded to the "Toronto" call signup?
Shidan is the organizer and has proposed a date. I'd hate to confirm it
without the remainder having input - especially those with travel times
like Andrew K. out in Listowel.

SPA3000 as a replacement for X100P
I am still haveing problems (echo) with my X100P but I'm thinking it has
more to do with the server it is in which is not a negotiable item at
this time. My question then is to the use of SPA3000's as a replacement
from the FXO standpoint.
1. Can you setup the FXO port to recognize distinctinve ring and call a
different context like you can do with Zap channels? Being able to call

Help with upgrading 7960 SCCP to SIP
I've got a Cisco 7960 that I'm trying to convert to SIP. Here's what
"Firmware Versions" says:
App Load ID:
P00305000300
Boot Load ID:
PC03M030
Version:
5.0(3.0)
The files that I have are:

P003-07-1-00.bin
P0S3-07-1-00.loads
P0S3-07-1-00.sb2
If I put "P003-07-1-00" in OS79XX.TXT, the phone tries to tftp

Problems about implementing a customized overlay network via Tinc
Hi guys:
I am using Tinc to build an overlay network, but I want to control the
network topology by myself. So how can I disable the automatic full mash
feature of Tinc? Besides, my overlay network is supposed to support anycast
and I have a routing algorithm for it. I wonder if it is convenient to
implement it in Tinc, and do you have any suggestions for achieving this?
Looking forward to your

Cisco 7960 Beating a Dead Horse
Hi all,
So I have been reading through the docs available online and the
different threads on this list, but I cannot seem to get this phone to work.
I have configured the OS79XX.TXT and SIP/SEP*.cnf files (see attached),
when I configure the phone to point to my tftp server and reboot it I
get this message:
Connection received from 10.6.0.224 on port 50608 [09/02 12:16:11.750]

dovecot proxy/director and high availability design
I think RR DNS is the only viable solution under these circumstances. If
you can cope with the fact that failovers won't be seamless, I don't
think there's anything wrong with that though.

Problems about implementing a customized overlay network via Tinc
Hi Johnson,
You might want to take a look at the IndirectData option, which will
prevent tinc from trying to directly reach nodes it doesn't have a direct
metaconnection to, using other nodes as intermediaries instead.
