TeleVantage Client 8
Hello. I am trying to run TeleVantage Client 8.00.5556 on Wine but it doesn't work all the way. I have done the following, after some tips here and there: Wine 1.2 under Ubuntu 10.04 in a VMware Player as I am testing. OS version set to Windows 7 Server is running on Windows 2003 on the LAN workgroup and has windows clients today (something I had hoped to change) Client installed through

Legacy Toshiba Phones
I found some postings from Google (notably from Mark Spencer) about successful integration of a legacy Toshiba Strata system and Asterisk. I am also facing that current dilemma. The general legacy solutions that I can come up with is very easy -- either making Asterisk a "proxy" (or frontdoor) to the Toshiba system, or have it operate behind the Toshiba via regular extensions. I'm

TeleVantage client on Wine
I am attempting to install the TeleVantage Client into wine. I have compiled Wine-20041019 from source. Upon running the installer, I get way too many errors: alexander@reservations:~$ wine .wine/drive_c/AppsPatches/netsetup/setup.exe fixme:msi:MsiGetProductInfoA "{8715D03E-39E4-4260-BB83-C63CA64D7660}"

Televantage 4
Hello, I'm not sure if anyone can help, but I figured I'd ask anyway. I am attempting to run the Televantage 4 Client under Wine 20041019 with WineTools 2.1.2. It installs fine, but it does not run. If I make Wine emulate win98, I get this error: fixme:vxd:VXD_Open Unknown/unsupported VxD L"secprov.vxd". Try setting Windows version to 'nt40' or 'win31'.

TE110P - Asterisk@Home Install Problems - Televantage 3 T1
I figured it out. The old system (Televantage 3 and 4 I think) has limited specifications on the T1. After setting up the system, I was able to send and recieve calls. I still have some work to do like figuring out faxing and a floating receptionist, but this is a nice start. ----------------------------------------------------Televantage T1 Requirements: Framing: D4 Superframe or Extended

TeleVantage Call Monitor & Asterisk
Hello, Have any of you had the chance to see what TeleVantage call monitor is? It basically shows queues, other extensions, calls in waiting, voicemail, etc. Does anyone have if there is something out there like it, so each and every agent can have one of those? And not just a manager? I'll be putting in a screenshot if someone wants to see. Thank you, Mark --------------

Inbound call handling in Asterisk
I'm new to asterisk but I've been managing an Artisoft Televantage server for about 2 years. My question is, does Asterisk has the capability to 'classify calls' based on the dialed number? This is called 'Call Classifier' in Televantage jargon wherein it lets call center agents identify callers, the company they are calling, intelligently route calls and prepare call

Remote Agents
Hi, First a little background: the company that I work at have currently been using a Windows-based PBX solution called Televantage. We are primarily a linux-based development shop but originally went with Televantage on the recomendation of someone who no longer works with us. Suffice to say, we have not been happy with that solution and I have been investigating Asterisk as a replacement to

On-Hook ADSI
Hello list, I have reason to believe that ADSI can be spoken to phones even when they're onhook. Is this true? Does anyone know? Right now, I'm having trouble figuring out how to do anything to an onhook channel other than ring it. Does this require a magic application and some serious voodoo? Any pointers? I got onto this idea because I noticed that whenever I got voice mail on a

A unique 'click to call' project - Could use some advice
Hello List, I work for an IP communication provider in upstate NY as the engineer assisting our technical support team. We provide a number of different Telco systems to residential subscribers; and in an effort to more effectively trouble shoot termination problems I came up with the idea of creating a click to call system that will allow our agents to effortlessly place test calls. A unique 'click to call' project - Could usesome advice
Colin, Thanks for your assistance. Reading over your advice I seem to still be a bit confused. My agents are not on the Asterisk server; it appears in your advice that my the call will travel this path: WWW interface --> agent enters their DID, platform to use, and termination DID --> AST calls agent --> Agent calls termination DID If my agents are not on the Asterisk server

problem with * and Howlink CL-100 ip phone
I'm trying to use a Howlink CL-100 ip phone with * It's h323 phone with very limited protocol support. But it's enough that I can use it to dial netmeeting client and artisoft pbx just fine. When I try to dial my * with it using either chan_h323 or oh323, it seems to fail on negotiating H245. Maybe this phone doesn't support it? I've used all different versions of

My contribution to the issue of code- reversal
Four years ago, I faced a real dilemma in my business: the Visual Voice PRI dll had a bug that considered unanswered any call after ringing for 20 seconds. This bug was in fact killing my business, because for international calling, the setup of the call was already close to 20 seconds on many cases. Furthermore, the vendor, Artisoft, had cowardly sold the software to Dialogic, and Intel-Dialogic

A unique 'click to call' project - Could use some advice <--one thing I forgot
In the example I posted previous, there is an obvious gaping security hole, it would be trivial for someone to read the querystring and exploit it to make free phone calls, spoof caller ID (if you allow the CallerID to be set with a QueryString value), etc. You want to make damn sure that the URL is not publicly accessible or somehow obsfucate the querystring, or use POST. In my case, I
