doublehash patch doesn't work in asterisk 0.7.1
Hello, I was using the doublehash.patch that Iain Stevenson had created back in August to change the transfer key from a single hash "#" to a double-hash "#". It always patches properly, but when I went from CVS 2004-01-12 to Asterisk 0.7.1 it doesn't seem to work anymore. I've attached the patch to this email and I use the following command to patch it: patch -p1

# Transfers.
So I have read and read and read... google is my friend and the wiki is by brother... However, I am still unclear on what the preferred method of using the pound sign is. If the Pound sign is set aside for Transfer.. Then when I make an outbound call to my bank I can not "Enter my PIN followed by Pound" Likewise if I turn off the ability to transfer when initiating a call, my bank pin

transfers with zap channel
Ok, I've seen discussion before on doing transfers (attended and unattended), there seems to be much confusion over it. As things sit, I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to do transfers with a zap channel (analog phone attached to TDM400). I have no idea what I'm missing. My current understanding is that I need to have transfer=yes in zapata.conf, do a flash hook, dial the 2nd

Patch - transfer with two rather than one #
Here's a patch that changes the behaviour of # transfers in asterisk. A single # is transferred to the remote phone/system. Two # in quick succession will trigger a transfer. This is very useful for users who have basic analogue phones connected to an ATA 186. For example, when calling a remote conference or IVR system you often want a single # to be sent to the remote system - not to

Call parking/transfer not working on IAX2 connections
Hi there, Maybe this has been cared about before but I could not find any solution to this problem either in the wikis or in the list archived. If someone has found a solution before please just tell me where I can find that info..thanks :) I am using iaxComm to call other people who are either using SIP or also IAX clients, like me. All of us are connected to the same asterisk server.

VoiceMailMain dumps user back into my incoming context after leaving a message
I have a dial plan that includes a company phone directory as a main menu option. If they just sit at the main menu, after 20 seconds, they are transferred to the operator. If the user picks an extension from the directory, they are transferred to the proper extension. If the called number is not available, they are transferred into VoiceMailMain. They leave a message, and hang up. The hang

Call Parking
Anyone having trouble parking calls? I haven't tried it in a while, but it seems to have stopped working. If I dial 700, I get a invalid extension. I have "include => parkedcalls" in the correct context, and I can dial 701, which tells me no call is parked there. Any ideas? Parking.conf is stock.

how to escape #
Hi, This morning I found myself stumped when a remote interactive system asked me to enter some identification followed by the # key, and my local Asterisk interrupted with "Transfer?". Is there a way to escape the pound key, short of disabling transfers? Cheers, -- "Make it idiot proof, and somebody will make a better idiot."

Excessive CLOSE_WAIT sockets, pound
Hello, I''m experiencing a strange, but very bad behavior with Mongrel 0.3.13.4 and Pound 1.8. Every 6 hours or so one of our nine (not consistent on which one) application servers ( each one running several mongrel processes ) will start leaving lots of socket connections with pound open. This leads to "Too many open files" errors. I''ve set pound to close connections

Sessions on Rails with Pound and Mongrel
Hi All, I''m experiencing a problem when using pound with Rails. My set up is I have a machine acting as a load balancer running Pound. This listens on port 80 and directs requests with a particular URL to two backend servers both of which are serving my rails app using mongrel cluster on ports 9000,9001 and 9002. There is a problem with sessions even though I am storing the session data

Mongrel HTTP Header Problem
Hi, I''ve recently been trying to setup Mongrel behind Pound so that I can do mutual SSL authentication. I''ve had a few problems with Pound (documented at [1]), but now have it working correctly. However, I think there is a problem with Mongrel and how it deals with the headers Pound adds to the HTTP header block. One of the extra headers Pound adds is

Parking extension not working
I have the standard parking.conf but extension 700 doesn't show up in my dialplan.... Why? I can dial 701 which tells me that I don't have any calls parked there. 700 just gives me invalid extension noise.... Should I have extension 700 defined elsewhere? Thanks parking.conf [general] parkext =a 700 ; What ext. to dial to park parkpos => 701-705

sample configs / load module failure
Hi List, I am trying to locate some detailed documentation and sample configs. I downloaded and compiled Asterisk, and I haven't been able to find much detailed docs on the config files. The distribution I compiled and installed doesn't have any config files, and the handbook is good but doesn't cover all of the configs. Here's my specific problem, when launching Asterisk for the

https load balancer for windows?
Hello, I noticed that mongrel would work very nicely with something called Pound to get https access to a rails app. However, I think Pound isn''t available for the windows platform? Is there any other nice lightweight load balancer like Pound that I could take a look at to get https with mongrel and rails? Cheers, /Erik -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

mongrel upload progress and nginx
Does anyone know whether the mongrel upload progress plugin works with nginx? It works fine for my app under pound, but not with nginx. I am using DRb to handle the uploads as detailed at http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/docs/upload_progress.html . If I am using pound I can see the uploads with irb -r lib/upload_client.rb , but cannot if I am using nginx. Does anyone know anything more about this

pound key tone generated after call answered?
Hello, I've been working on an * dialer application, whereby a requirement is that if no one answers the call, a message must be left on voicemail. I've been using the record(tmp.gsm) function with silence detection enabled to wait for the greeting to finish before speaking. However, on voicemail systems where you can interrupt the greeting with a pound (#) key to access your voicemail

OT: Problems with Pound Signs and Apache
Hi list, I have 2 Centos 4 servers running the Horde system, apparently identical in configuration, but they are behaving differently... On one, when emails containing a Pound Sign (?) are displayed it shows as ?? (not sure if this will come through right, but it's a capital A with a 'hat' accent over it followed by the pound sign). On the other, the Pound sign displays
