AVM Fritz crash
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Not strictly Asterisk related, but I'm trying to get an AVM Fritz! card to
work with Asterisk on a Fedora Core 3 box. I've grabbed the official AVM
Fritz CAPI driver from the AVM website and compiled against the current
kernel. However, as soon as I modprobe it I get:

ATrpms/Fritz FCPCI CAPI/Fedora 7
HI all,
Has anyone succesfully installed an AVM Fritz! card on Fedora 7 using the
drivers at ATrpms recently? http://atrpms.net/dist/f7/fcpci/
I tried with a clean F7 build on my EPIA 5000 yesterday, after modifying
/etc/capi.conf (removing the coment # in front of fcpci line) I received the
following error when executing 'capiinit' -
FATAL: Error inserting fcpci

Kernel panic loading second fritz card
Hi Everyone,
Long time reader, first time poster.
FINALLY got my First AVM Fritz Card up and running under Centos 3.4
Installed the second....modified the drivers etc as per the instructions
found at the wiki
System boots
Modprobe capi
all good
modprobe fcpci
all good
modprobe f2pci
the kernel then goes into Panic
If Modprobe f2pci before fcpci the kernel still goes into panic.

Réf. : Re: Fritz ISDN PCI v2 and CAPI
I tried that but it still doesn't work... I think I don't have the correct
approach. Have I to install any ISDN drivers (=modules ?) BEFORE dealing
with CAPI ?
If yes, why shouldn't I use the hisax drivers (which are kernel ones)
instead of fcpci drivers (which doesn't seems to work, by the way...)
And finally, how is it possible to link the two modules together?
As you can see,

I have some fritz cards now, followed instructions from stuart hirsts email of Jun 28:

Thanks for your info but I think I have it working at last. Below are
the steps I took which might help others.
1) Download the PCI AVM drivers from ftp://ftp.avm.de/cardware
2) Download the Chan_capi from http://www.junghanns.net/asterisk/
3) tar -xvzf fcpci-suse8.0-03.09.10.tar.gz which

Crossed lines - a worrying problem.
Hi all,
I have just received the following e-mail from an Asterisk user:
"I just made a call via BT to a mobile. Then an incoming call came in and
Ann else answered it - it made my call go completely fuzzy and I could hear
what the woman on the other line was saying to Ann but I couldn't hear my
conversation! When Ann's call finished - mine went even fuzzier and all I

2 x Fritz!pci card
Hello,
Has anybody installed 2 Fritz pci cards in an asterisk box ?
I can't make them work : each card is working fine when installed alone
(with chan_capi), but I get a kernel freeze when doing 'insmod' with
both cards installed.
I am using Mandrake 10.1 with kernel 2.6, so the hack described at
http://www.quiss.org/caiviar/Two-Fritzcards-HOWTO cannot be used (the
hack requires

fcpci from atrpm-repop and CentOS5-Plus-kernel
Hi Folks,
I have to setup a new server with a fritz-pci-ISDN-card inside.
For it the fcpci-Packages from atrpm-repo is needed.
Trying to install this package on a machine with the newest CentOS5-Plus
Kernel I get an error message
Missing Dependency: /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-8.1.14.el5 is needed by package
fcpci-kmdl-2.6.18-8.1.14.el5
Okay -I have a vmlinuz-2.6.18-8.1.14.el5.centos.plus.

Réf. : Re: Fritz ISDN PCI v2 and CAPI
If I do that, the modprobe doesn't find any module called fcpci and is
looking for any module called hisax_fcpcipnp as it's the one install for
the isdn fritz card.
# capiinit
modprobe: Can't locate module fcpci
ERROR: failed to load driver fcpci
Maybe, I should reinstall the fritz card drivers itselves? (however, I
don't think so...)

AVM Fritz! mISDN with Kernel 2.6.32 - Any experiences?
Hi to all asterisk-users ;)
As some of you may know, Kernel 2.6.32 includes a module for the
infamous Fritz passive ISDN cards in conjunction with mISDN.
I just would like to know if anybody has tried to use a Fritz card as a
BRI adapter for Asterisk with the new module. If so, i would be grateful
for some hints or howtos.
I am willing to try this myself, but i am quite reluctant as i have

chan_capi-cm, Euro ISDN bus: 2 extensions on same BRI port not working
Hello,
I am using a system with an AVM ISDN PCI card (fcpci) and asterisk with
chan_capi-cm-0.6. The hardware is connected to a Siemens Hipath 3550 PBX. As
a BRI connection has 2 channels and allows 2 simultaneous calls,
numbers/MSNs 6391 and 6392 were for provisioned for each channel. The system
is working (partly, read on), the trick is the correct cable wiring and
setup the PBX's port

Which Linux distribution?
We have tried Asterisk 1.0.9 on FC4 and have never
been able to get CAPI (with Fritz card, fcpci) to work
properly. Apart from that Asterisk works fine in
switching internal calls. But it's useless if we can't
make outgoing calls on our ISDN line.
We are considering abandoning FC4 for Debian or SuSe.
What is the general concensus on the best Linux to run
Asterisk with CAPI?
