using broadvoice and vonage hardware with Asterisk
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Greetings, I've just about got Asterisk up and running and am
wondering the following. Currently, I subscribe to both Vonage and
Broadvoice and as such, I've got a Sipura and Cisco ATA186. Although
I'm sure this is expressly prohibited somewhere in my service
agreements, can I reprogram these devices to access my own asterisk
server rather than

VSP? Looking for advice.
Has anyone tried using BroadVoice for VSP? I have Asterisk configured
for a home office & I've been trying to decide which VoIP provider to go
with for a little while now. I had heard you could get sub $.01 calls
but I have not found that to be true yet (not saying it's not possible,
I just haven't found it!).
Also I'm not sure if BV will support multiple lines. Any

Another State Of The Punctuation Mark question - Vonage
There was a flurry of "Vonage is going to unlock SIP" activity last
year; did anything productive ever come of it?
Are *you* using your Vonage lines directly into Asterisk?
In lieu of that, for a 4 line small business that doesn't need to pay
Vonage $150 a month, who? Broadvoice? Someone else?
I'm a touch unimpressed with the fact that BV's website *won't quote

I'm FED UP with BroadVoice
After months of BroadVoice ignoring my trouble tickets for dropped calls,
delayed termination, etc., I'm throwing in the towel. While they have
credited $19.95 to my account, they refuse to credit anything more, despite
ALL of the problems I've had. I feel the least they could do is credit the
remaining $8.61 to my account, yet they won't.
I haven't really been following up on

Vonage a provider?
I am new to the mailing list, but I am very interested in running my small
home business office phone system using Asterisk. However, Broadvoice, a
VoIP provider of choice based on my research, is not available in my area.
I currently use Vonage VoIP. Their website mentions nothing about being
able to link to Asterisk. I was wondering if any US subscribers have been
able to configure Vonage

Multiple X100Ps -- order?
After over a month (well, ok, no more than an hour a day :) of planning,
getting hardware, tinkering and testing, I'm about to my Ultimate Home
Phone System (tm) online.
Connectivity to the outside world is provided by:
A. 1 POTS phone line connected through an X100P ($11/month, needed to
carry DSL)
B. 1 Vonage ATA186 connected through an X100P (needed for the rate
center :( )
C. 3 Broadvoice

VoIP service through Asterisk?
Greetings. I did some digging with Google, the wiki, and on the
archives, but didn't find a recent conclusive answer. If this is
answered in the wiki or archives somewhere, please point me to it.
I'm in the process of setting up an Asterisk box for home use. I've got
a X100P card on the way. I've not decided what analog adapter(s) to get
yet. The only phone service to hook up

Can only call VoIP SIP Providers (Weird)
I'm using Asterisk 1.0.4 with AMP and Broad Voice.
I have that with only 5 XTen Lite phones.
I'm able to call / etc with internal phones just fine.
I can call outside Vonage Numbers, and other
BroadVoice Numbers. I have vonage where I live (626)
and can call that fine. However, other 626 numbers I
get similar errors as below.
However, everytime, I try to call cell phones, and or

Asterisk box and verizon calling it
I set up an asterisk box with a broadvoice sip connection for incoming
connections
it works great when I use a cell phone, vonage line, calling card to
call the asterisk box, but when I try to call it from our verizon land
line it is busy and asterisk logs do not show incoming call.
Any ideas on what the issue is?
Thanks!

SIP Options
Hi All,
I have been reading through the list quite a bit, and I am going to post
this more as a poll than anything else.
I am working on setting up a very small business with something that
resembles a professional voice system.
My idea is to use Asterisk with a SIP provider and SIP clients. I
currently have a Vonage account already. So adding the 9.99 a month
Soft Phone would be easy.

Vonage Linksys Router - Life after Vonage
I setup a vonage account last year, and cancelled it last night when I
put my asterisk box together and signed up for a Broadvoice account to
use with it.
Now I would like to use my Linksys router as an MTA, but realize it is
still programmed with all of vonage's proprietary information and I do
not know how to clear it. I understand that just pushing the reset
button will not do it.

Total newbie here looking to do a VoIPconfer ence call?
Come to think of it since the DTA310 uses DNS to find the SIP server, you
could setup a DNS cache and override the DNS entry for what packet8 uses
(proxy2-eqix-sjo.packet8.net : 15062, over here) to point to the IP of your
own SIP server? Kind of a hack but it should work as long as it's running
on port 15062. I am very new to this so I don't know if there's a port
standard for SIP

Vonage, broadvoice et al
Hi all,
I'm just wondering about these VoIP services -- do you have to sign up one
account -per- client that will be using the service? I've got multiple
extensions behind my Asterisk box, and I want to be able to allow all my staff
to place calls via the provider.
So if I sign up for one account, will multiple users behind my Asterisk box be
able to make calls, using that same

Broadvoice problems
Is anyone else having problems with them? Until today everything was
working fine.
But now dtmf is not working on incoming calls.
Any ideas? I tried calling them and their voicemail is not accepting
answers.
Is there another source for DIDs in the 314 or 636 area codes?
Especially a company that supports something besides ulaw.
I am going to hate switching numbers again, my wife is

Broadvoice problems again
I had my asterisk configuration working very well with broadvoice, but
it stopped working this afternoon.
I plugged the Cisco 7960 phone I used for my origional signup (just a
few days before they offered generic BYOD) and it works fine. I did
notice it seems to do all of its comunication through
proxy.broadvoice.com (I used tcpdump). I have never contacted
broadvoice about using asterisk

Planning Asterisk
Hello,
I'm planning to convert my phone system to Asterisk, as I've outgrown my
TalkSwitch system. I have a few questions for experienced * users, most
of which can be answered yes/no.
Current Setup:
- Talkswitch 48NLS (4CO/8Ext) phone system.
- One CO line, two Vonage lines, one Voicepulse line connected to phone
system
- A third Vonage line directly connected to a fax machine

Broadvoice-like company in Canada?
Hey folks,
I am looking for a no frills bring-your-own-SIP device VOIP company
similar to Broadvoice.
Does anyone have any experience with VOIP in Canada?

SIP audio cut off even with Answer, Wait...
Hello everyone,
Having recently gotten Broadvoice inbound DTMF to work (thanks Greg)...I
am now running into a frustrating problem...when a call comes in to the
BV number via a cell phone (tested with 3 different cell phones; albeit
all on T-Mobile) the beginning of the IVR welcome audio is cut off. A
call placed via a landline phone over the PSTN to the BV number does not
exhibit the problem.
