aastra 9133i DTMF tones
Hey - I know there's some other people out there that have the 9133i ... has anyone gotten the DTMF tones to work after the far side picks up? I didn't have any problems out of the box with my SPA-841 phones... the aastra has been nicer so far, but I can't seem to get it to dial the touch tones after an auto-answer device picks up on the far side... I googled, to no avail. -Karl

X330 Keyboard/box dies on install 4.0, not on 3.4
I've got a handful of IBM X330's at my colo and another couple at the office for testing purposes. Currently, they're running CentOS 3.4 and are very happy doing so. The 3.4 install was perfectly seamless. When I tried to upgrade one of my test machines to 4.0, the keyboard died once I got into the install every single time once I boot to anaconda from the CD. It dies as soon as

Upstream vendor's diskless vs LTSP
Hello all, I have a customer that insists of using upstream vendor's diskless (system-config-netboot) rather than LTSP. The reason is that he wants to use a 100% packages from the vendor, not from LTSP or any other party. I try the vendor's diskless system, and although it's very simple to setup, it lacks the support and/or documentation whereas LTSP is very good in it. Another

FXO not picking up; baffled
I'm a newbie to Asterisk, but I'm moderately knowledgeable about phone systems. Right now, I'm most certainly confused. I have a TDM-04B (four FXO) and four analog FXO lines running into it from an AdTran 616. I have Asterisk working internally, although I could use some help getting incoming calls to answer properly and configuring my outbound dialplan. Here's where I'm

Hi, I took the following doc: http://karlkatzke.com/centos-44-ms-sql-freetds-and-php/ (which now appears offline, but was written by Karl Katzke) And ported it to CentOS 5.x (php-5.1.6) by modifying the php.spec that he supplied I'd like to import this into the wiki under the HowTO section. My username is KyleODonnell Let me know what you think. Regards, Kyle O'Donnell

pxelinux fron Floppy disk?
Hi there, we are using a couple of Diskless Linux Workstations in conjunction with PXE capabable Network cards to boot the system. This works fine using pxelinux. However, there are a few workstations left, which are not able to boot via PXE and thus this workstations need a Kernel on a floppy disk and an additional initrd image. The Problem with is, that both of them don't fit on a floppy

Password authentication problems
I'm having a problem getting OpenSSH to correctly authenticate passwords. I'm doing authentication against a shadow file (/etc/shadow) because I don't have PAM installed. I'm using Slackware 7.0, OpenSSH 1.2.3, OpenSSL 0.95a, and glibc with the crypt addon. Here is the funny thing about it though. I edited the file that has the code for authenication (auth-password.c I think,

Vorbis in Macromedia Flash (was Icecast in...)
Hi Jack, It's a good idea. I am going to email macromedia to ask support for ogg in Flash. Anyway, it is impossible it would be available before end of 2004 because the brand new Flash 2004 was just released. Shockwave Flash player for CentOS
Hey, I am using CentOS-3 as a desktop distribution. With the exception of fewer red hats and some different logos, it looks exactly like RedHat 9 to me. The problem is some web sites do not work right, as there is no Shockwave Flash player and Java support seems to be a problem. For some web sites, I have to used Windows. I prefer not to download and install something that YUM could not

What is the state of play regarding getting Ogg Vorbis into Flash? There's often talk about Quicktime, Helix and DirectShow filters. Has Xiph also been pushing for getting it included in the Flash product line or is it not

Winbind: can't log in as domain user
Sorry about the lengthy post - I'm putting as much in here as I can in hopes that someone can help me ferret out the problem. Basic problem is that domain users can't successfully log into the linux box. I'm trying to set this box up as an ltsp server authenticating against our existing AD (although this is actually in a test lab - I didn't really want to trash anything real

Icecast in Macromedia Flash
Hi André, Yes you got it, with Flash, all your listeners running Windows, MAC and Linux (but not Linux PPC) will be able to listen to your MP3 (not OGG) stream through the same player: the flash plug-in. We are still working on it because it doesn’t work yet when the player is embedded but Assorgia got successful results with Mozilla/Linux. Read the entire topic if you need further information.
