MWI indicator on SNOM200 doesn't disappear
On recent releases of the snom200 firmware, the MWI indicator will turn on, but won't turn off when the message has been checked. It works on firmware 2.03o, but not in 2.04g or newer. I filed a bug report with snom, but they're claiming it is an asterisk issue and that it should have been resolved. They suggested that I ask on the list. "Anyway, Asterisk had a bug where it

Status Lights on Snom200 Phone Displaying the Status of PSTN Lines
Alright, this may seem like something relatively easy to do but I must be missing something or had a neuron misfire. I am trying to get The Status lights on my Snom200 hardphones to display the status of each one of my PSTN lines in my Asterisk server. Current Config: 3 X100P cards Asterisk CVS-02/25/04-18:06:52 5 Snom200 phones I am currently using the following macro to dial out

Exception flag set - snom200
Sorry I forgot the subject in the last post. When my snom200 receives an inbound SIP external sip call, it somehow rejects the call and with a busy tone. The debug shows the following error: channel.c:1142 ast_read: Exception flag set on 'SIP/sipphone-7796', but no exception handler what does this mean and how can I debug it further?? Thanks JC -------------- next

X-Lite <-> Snom200
Hi, I have just been playing with the latest X-Lite.. It works fine with Asterisk.. As for codecs I tested G.711a/u, GSM and iLBC... iLBC is the only one that didn't work.. not sure why.. But the bigger problem is that when I call another extension that is using a Snom200 the call connects but there is no audio in either direction.. I have tried G.711a/u and GSM and while X-Lite shows that

snom reporting busy when it shouldn't - Email found in subject
Check the Redirection on the web interface of your Snom 200. If it says "When Busy" that's your problem. It should say "Never". Also make sure on Sip->Lines your line appearance says "All" or else you will have the same problem. Hope this helps :) Greg Gregory P. Toshiba DK-40 and Asterisk...possible?
Hi all, I have a potential client interested in an Asterisk PBX, which will allow them to improve their virtual office services, among other things (it's a Business Centre). They currently have a Toshiba DK-40 and 19 DKT 2010-SD phones. The owner has told me that the phones are digital (not in the VoIP sense, obviously). Is anyone here familiar with this particular PBX? Any chance that it

distinctive ring on SNOM 200
Hi, I'm trying to set up my SNOM 200 with extensions, with different ringtones - but it doesn't seem to work. I've defined two extensions for it in Asterisk and in the SNOM 200 configuration. In the SNOM home>settings>SIP>Lines config page, I have set the ringer for the first extension to "ringer1", and "ringer6" for the second. In

Hello. I have two snom200 ip phones and 1 mp108fxs (audiocodes 8 fxs) and i dont get a ring in the caller phone when I dial from a snom200 to the other snom200 or the mp108fxs, I made a debug with ethereal, and I can see a "Ringing" packet being return from the called snom200 or mp108fxs to the asterisk box, but it is not being re-transmitted to the caller snom200. Adaptec 2230SLP not detected
[I originally sent this using the wrong email address - apologies if it appears twice] Hello Everyone, Has anyone tried installing CentOS 4 x86_64 on a machine with an Adaptec 2230SLP card? I've just tried it, and Anaconda could not detect the card. I've manually loaded the aacraid driver, which then starts the install process. But, when the install gets to disk partitioning, the

Snom Programmable button Mini Howto and ring state patch
The snom 200 and 220 have five programmable buttons. Each button has a led that can be used to indecate if an extension is idle, in use, or ringing. A button pannel for the 220 is also comming out soon that will have 20'ish programmable buttons on board. This is a killer app for any company that has receptionists handle calls, and pretty usefull for everyone else. As a matter of fact,

Evolution forgetting read mail
Hi all, Has anyone seen Evolution "forget" which emails have been read in CentOS 4? I have a client that's reported he's reading his email, closes Evolution, and when he starts it again, the messages are marked as unread. I found bug reports about this here: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=273787 https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4373 It's supposedly

Snom200 -> C7960 noisy?
When a Snom 200 (v2.1l) calls a C7960 (v4.4), both using g711u as default, the conversation is extremely noisy from the Snom to the Cisco, but clear in the reverse direction. Using a sniffer, I see packets from the Snom to the Cisco of 87 bytes and Cisco to Snom of 214 bytes. Asterisk is CVS from Saturday. The communications between the two was working fine on Saturday, however something has

Kind of off-topic: VoIP services and multiple callers
Hello Everyone, I've been running Asterisk as our PBX for several months now, and recently I've been thinking about using one of the VoIP providers to lower our phone bill. I know that VoIP providers can supply their customers with a local number and/or virtual numbers, and then that number/account can be used with Asterisk (well, it depends on the provider and whether or not their

SIP phone behind NAT
Hi all, -------- I have a Asterisk at a public Network (official IP address). In the local network I have isntalled a Snom 200 IP phone and in my home network (behind NAT) a Snom 100 device. I can dial the Snom200 device from my home location without any problems but the Snom200 can not dial me. It always gets a "we do not rely". I tried to forward the SIP Port (5060) UDP via UPnP

gdm-restart/gdm-safe-restart
Hi all, On a CentOS 4.2, x86_64 system, I created a new session that is selectable from the sessions list in GDM. To make GDM see the changes, I ran the following: gdm-safe-restart That's supposed to make GDM re-read it's config files. Well, it worked, but instead of staying on vt7, GDM moved to vt9. At first it looked liked GDM had died, but I ran ps aux|grep gdm, and found it
