FXS vs. FXO
Hello,
I've recently purchased Adit 600 with 3FXS and 1FXO to be connected to
my * server via T100P card. This is the output of "status equipment"
command in the Adit600:
For some reason the FXO card is seen as FXS, why? Is it ok? On the card
it is written "FXO".

FXS Caller ID revisted
Hi All, posted last week but didn't get any responses. I'm trying to figure
out why some of our analog phones aren't showing CID when hooked up to
asterisk. To recap, I have an Aastra Powertouch 350, which shows caller ID
fine when connected to the PSTN, but when hooked up to asterisk, CID does
not show. I've hooked up another phone to the same * port that the Aastra
phone is on,

ADSI - PowerTouch 350
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with PowerTouch 350 &
ADSI.
I am able to configure the phone with ADSI.. Which is pretty cool in it
self. But I have a question regarding the Service feature. I have to
choose the service button and choose the Asterisk PBX ADSI. But let's
say I make a call it does not default back to this. I have to go back
into Services and choose it

Which ADSI phones to buy?
I just need to buy 5-6 ADSI Phones.
I wondering which of these models to choose
- aastra 390 - I don't know is this an ADSI phone at all. Is there versions with and without ADSI
- aastra 350 - I'm sure that it have ADSI.
If there is some other good working model, it will be great, if someone points me.
Thanks

Nortel PowerTouch 350
I have a question hoping someone can help me with. I just purchased a
350 from http://lktelecom.zoovy.com/product/HPT350. I have been reading
some posts and heard that these phones won't work with Asterisk.. Is
this true? I had a previous Nortel Phone working in this enviroment.
Well anyway here's my problem. The phone keeps ringing.. It won't
stop.. Which makes the phone

OT: Aastra Powertouch 350 caller id
Hi all, is anyone using the Aastra Powertouch 350 analog (adsi) phone with
asterisk? I cannot get the phone to display incoming caller id... I can see
the CID if I hook up a cheap caller id enabled phone... Only the PT350 is
having problems. Looking all over for docs on this phone, but what I've
found doesn't have any mention of a setting to display CID...
Thx as always

Found: inexpensive ADSI phone
I know I heard people looking for inexpensive ADSI phones a while
back. Can't vouch for these guys, but this looks like a reasonable
deal for what perhaps are new phones. No experience with ADSI,
myself, but thought I'd pass it along. These folks also carry the
Nortel analog units that do intercom and 2-line, as has been
discussed in prior threads.

RE: Asterisk-Users Digest, Vol 22, Issue 132
I haven't intentionally done anything to the CID, the odd thing is that
another aastra phone (480e) connected to the same port DOES display CID,
it's only these PT350s that can't seem to read it.. Been talking to Aastra
support & they've suggested some avenues to explore, but none of them have
worked... The PT350s definitely have a problem w/*'s cid signals.. Just not

Channel Bank - New * install
I am looking at installing * as the PBX in a new office and have a few
questions that I hope someone can help me with. The installation will be
small at first with about 8 internal extensions, but will grow to 24
within a year or so.
First is there any benefit to using VoIP phones instead of installing a
channel bank and analog business phones?
If not, what are some good analog business

Availability of T400P and E400P
Good day everyone,
A Solution now exists for those of you still looking for the first model of Quad T1/E1 Interface Cards - the T400P and E400P.
The T400P and E400P were manufactured by Digium until a few months ago, and were designed and released under the GNU Public License as the
Tormenta II by Zapata Telephony.
Varion, Inc. is now in full production manufacturing these boards. With the

ADSI Analogue phones
I'm trying to work out whether I want an ADSI phone or not, and in fact,
whether it is ... useful/works with Asterisk.
I have decided that for the cost/performance of the various IP based phones,
I am not interested, I seem to get significantly better quality from a plain
analogue phone using the TDM40B card.
Is it beneficial to get an ADSI phone as opposed to a plain old analogue

Help! Problems talking to upstream switch
Hi,
Please let me know if you have any ideas - I am taking wild guesses now....
Here is the situation:
I put in Asterisk for a local customer. I have Fractional T-1 with 12
Voice & 12 Data. I have a T100P hooked up to a TDM Card (they call it a
chanel bank although it only has 2 outputs) in a CAC unit. The unit also
has a router card that runs the data side. My extensions are all SIP

Best echo-free and trouble-free system?
We currently have a 15-phone system using Asterisk, a combination of
analog phones/Grandstream HandyTone-286 and Grandstream BT101s, and 4
X100Ps connected to analog lines. The system works well except for
the occasional echo problem. I have all the echo parameters
configured, removed all the extra incoming analog lines except to the
PBX, etc. following all the advice on the wiki and on the

Powertouch 350 CallID display continued
Hi All, as a followup to my previous posting (re: not getting caller id to
display on a powertouch 350), I've found the following...
If I hook the PT350 up to the PSTN line, caller id is diplayed properly...
If I connect it to our CAS Acess Bank II, the 350 will not display incoming
CID... If I hook up a cheap callerid enabled phone to the same port that the
PT350 was on (on the AB II), the

Channel Bank configuration
Hello,
I don't have any experience with channel banks and would appreciate any
feedback on my theory outlined below:
We have a single T1 entering the building with channels 1-12 being voice
lines and 13-24 being a 768k internet connection. This T1 terminates to
an Adit 600 (T1-1).
Here's what I know. Channels 11-12 go out the Adit 600's 25-pair
connector to a wiring block (and

Hardware
Hi guys I know this has been asked on the list before, but my hard drive
crashed and I lost all of the past posts, I need to know what motherboard
works ok for asterisk, I have no problems with the Dual and Quad Xeon
processor boards I have used. Now I plan on building a Pentium 4 3.0 with
hyper-threading. I looked through the wiki and could not find the
recommended P4 board. Does anyone have
