using broadvoice and vonage hardware with Asterisk
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Greetings, I've just about got Asterisk up and running and am
wondering the following. Currently, I subscribe to both Vonage and
Broadvoice and as such, I've got a Sipura and Cisco ATA186. Although
I'm sure this is expressly prohibited somewhere in my service
agreements, can I reprogram these devices to access my own asterisk
server rather than

Vonage Linksys Router - Life after Vonage
I setup a vonage account last year, and cancelled it last night when I
put my asterisk box together and signed up for a Broadvoice account to
use with it.
Now I would like to use my Linksys router as an MTA, but realize it is
still programmed with all of vonage's proprietary information and I do
not know how to clear it. I understand that just pushing the reset
button will not do it.

Unlocking Vonage ATA 186
In the process of investigating a Cisco ATA 186 that was locked by
Vonage, I found that you can still unlock the device yourself. But
there's a catch.
The device's design has a great plus: a DIP32 *socketed* SST28SF040A
flash chip. I found an 8 digit unlock code at 0x03FA71-0x03FA78. I do
not know if that is a standard location.
If you have the equipment, you're in luck. But

Vonage and Asterisk integration
All,
I have been thru the archives and all the relevant URL's sent to me. I have
sent e-mail to those who have gone before me and are attempting to
accomplish the same goal - no one has it working?. Doesn't anyone have a
WORKING asterisk pbx that hooks into vonage?
Thanks,
Jerry Roy

Help please for newb on Asterisk to Vonage
I just installed Asterisk on my server and I have Vonage softphone.
I need my Asterisk server to receive calls through the Vonage Softphone DID
and make outgoing calls through the Vonage ATA using an X100p to connect to
it. Can someone help me out on configuring this? I really need this for my
business and would greatly appreciate the help.

Vonage locked Motorola VT-1000s
I have a small pile of them from customers who were too lazy to send them
back after switching to our local voice service...
Is there any hope of ever using these things with Asterisk?
Vonage does not want them back and they won't unlock them either.
A terrible shame!
Should I just toss them?

Vonage locked ATA-186 question
If anyone out there has an ATA-186 that they purchased but cannot use
with Asterisk due to it's being locked by Vonage, please contact me

Vonage and FXO
Is anyone using Vonage on an FXO port in Asterisk? How well does it work?
Specifically, any echo/delay problems?
Second part, I am assuming it is possible to separate fxo ports for least
cost routing correct? In other words, I would like the routing to be such
that any local or 1-800# dials fxo ports 1-4 which is a normal 4 line analog
PSTN connection. Any long distance call will try to dial

vonage and asterisk
I've been reading all I can in order to try to implement an asterisk
setup. In speaking with someone the other day, they advised they thought
there was a way to make a SIP or softphone (gnophone) go straight out to
the vonage network through asterisk. I already have vonage set up with an
ATA 186. What I'm wondering is is there some way that I could direct dial
from a softphone

Vonage SIP access via asterisk?
Does anyone have a working connection to Vonage via asterisk? (SIP, not ATA)
I just signed up to test their service and they sent me a Number, Proxy, port and password.
Every reference I have tried leaves me with a 404 error coming from Vonage.
If you have a working setup, please post some config references.

Thank You,

Another State Of The Punctuation Mark question - Vonage
There was a flurry of "Vonage is going to unlock SIP" activity last
year; did anything productive ever come of it?
Are *you* using your Vonage lines directly into Asterisk?
In lieu of that, for a 4 line small business that doesn't need to pay
Vonage $150 a month, who? Broadvoice? Someone else?
I'm a touch unimpressed with the fact that BV's website *won't quote

VONAGE or IP Dialtone
The Vonage service is offered with a SIP Cisco ATA device for connection
to an analog phone.
Is it possible to connect the Vonage service directly to the Asterisk
PBX bypassing the ATA and FXO card? Are there other services that offer
this capability or something similar to IP dialtone?
Thanks
Kevin

Vonage
Ahh Mr Carbuyer ... you should have _specified_ you wanted tires with that new car
We can still help you though, it will just be an extra $$ above the price we quoted you
I understand the concept. I see it in many industries until a company comes along
that cares about it's customers
I still think that digium is the best buy (for the small scale stuff that I'm
interested in anyway) ...

new ATA box for sale by Linksys
Fry's Electronics has a new Linksys 2 line ATA box for sale for $59.99
retail. They have a version with a router for $89.99. We picked the
non-router version up and it seems to be a rebadged Sipura SPA-2000. The
box has a Vonage service package inside as well, but it does work with other
services.
The box also has a "User Guide" meant for end-users that is very well
written [no

vonage.ca * integration possible?
I just got setup with vonage.ca with the motorola ata unit.. I fired up
ethreal and checked out what's flying over the network... The sniff below
would lead me to believe that it might be possible to have asterisk spoof
the User-Agent field and register itself?
Any thoughts/feedback? Thanks.

How does Vonage support fax machines?
My boss is insisting we support fax, and I keep telling him that Fax over
IP is very unreliable and not recommended and his immediate come-back is
"Vonage does it." and it's very hard to figure out how.
I don't think Vonage does T.38, the Linksys/Sipura units they're using
doesn't support T.38 to my knowledge.
That means they have to be using G.711Ulaw to send faxes.

Vonage sending Motorola gear now?
I got a call from an ISP friend tonight who said he is getting calls
from people who are getting signed up with Vonage. Instead of sending
them ATA186s, apparently they're receiving something made by Motorola.
They apparently work significantly differently than the Cisco units, and
there have been some problems.
Anybody know anything further?
Thx.

Asterisk with Vonage
I know Vonage doesn't officially have a "bring your own device" type
program, but they do offer a softphone. Has anyone gotten Asterisk to
connect directly to Vonage? This would be a great help!!

Immediately strides to ATA, rips off cover... woohoo, EEPROM is
socketed.... well maybe I'll just copy the contents of a working
ATA into the
