Multi-ISP :- Multi-Wan Broadband Router Appliance VS Multiple eth Linux routing
Hi all
I need to use three 512 kbps aDSL internet connections, in a load-sharing,
link-failover scenario. Presently I am using Ipcop with a single DSL. Now, I
seem to have two options...one..an Edimax quad wan port adsl router, with
firewalling and NAT and second install a minimal linux distro for
routing...something on the lines of LARTC....and keep NATTING, IDS &
Firewalling on the linux

RE: Q: Routing the Same IP simultaneously on differentcomputers ?
Hi,
First, never compare a linux box with a cheap and dumb broadband router.
I''m not sure if i understand very well your scenario but I asume is like
this:
192.168.0.1---------
-----------| ipsec |
| ---------
128.X.X.X --------- 192.168.0.254 |
ISP ----------| linux |------------------|

WAN setup over frame relay 7 locations
Hi - I have shorewall-1.3.8-1 on a RH 7.3 machine that acts as a firewall
for my network. It was running the other day just fine, but today I have
problems getting to the firewall. It is a frame-relay network with Cisco
routers. Everything is 192.168.x.x / 24. I can''t ping the firewall from
the WAN, but can from the main LAN. Sounds like a routing issue to me, but
it was working for

IP Phones ?
Hi guys,
I know this isn't strictly about Asterisk, but it is related...
I am looking to buy a few IP phones, but I don't have a huge budged (hence
why I love Asterisk, its amazing and free !), so I was wondering if anyone
knew where I could get some cheap IP Phones ?
Ideally they should be no more then about ?50 ($90).
Thanks, Paul.

VPN/WAN Domain members
I have about 60 PC's running windows XP behind vpn routers in different
locations. I find that they lose connection or sync (or whatever the right word
is) to the domain periodically, probably when the vpn shuts down due to low
demand. The result is that any domain user not already in the local password
hash cache cannot log in and any local share with domain permissions on it will

IAX2 problem for WAN connections
Hi,
I am trying to connect two Asterisk servers using IAX2. Everything works fine when I couple them
within a LAN segment, but not when I connect them using WAN connections. I made sure that the
routers' ports are mapped properly and checked this with additional ssh rules.
ServerA is a Raspberry box with the vendor's Asterisk version 1.8.13.1 and ServerB is normal
CentOS 7 box with

Linking shares via WAN or VPN
Hello List,
here?s what i got:
2 Boxes running Samba 3 with LDAP as Backend, one in each Location.
The Authentification works fine via the Wan-Link, that?s not the problem.
However, since we want the Users to be able to roam not only inside the
Offices - but also betweeen them - we need to implement a system that
also keeps the actual Data and Profiles in Sync. ATM, we?re using UNISON
to do

defining directly to the wan/lan
I have a fedora system configured and running with virsh using
kvm/qemu. All I want is to have a fixed ipaddress for that virtual
machine. I know that there is the Host and Guest sides to the network.
The host has virbr0 interface, which i guess is a bridge. Seem when
ever I define a interface to the guest with a type=routed it hoses my
other interfaces on the host and requires a console reboot --

2 networks - 2 routers maybe three
Hi,
I need some hints on where to start on this one: I have an ISDN router -
everything which is between 172.31.55.168 - 172.31.55.175 goes via gateway
172.31.55.169 the subnetmask is 255.255.255.248.
The PC''s in the network get their IP address from a broadband router which
will give dynamic ip''s and internet access to my small network. The
broadband router services network

Issue calling from WAN to LAN extension
Hi,
I have a weird issue that I hope someone can help me with. I have 2 test
computers and I've changed each the roles of each one with the same results.
I have one xlite client running across a VPN and another connecting directly
from the WAN via the external IP. The client connecting directly to the
external IP can call the client running across the VPN no problem. However,
the client

I stumbled on this list...
Hi All,
I am new to the list and have ordered myself a Asterisk Developer's Kit
(TDM). I am just waiting on the order from a reseller of digium.
I have yet to play around with the system when it arrives. And I
haven't looked into the manual yet. I do hope I have all the hardwares
to test first before I go and buy a sipura spa-2000 unit.
I have my sister who is living in Germany.

Unusable performance over WAN (part 2)
Hi all,
Disregard my previous posts, I've consolidated everything here.
I'm having terrible performance issues with samba over a WAN
(point-to-point T1 link).
Doing a copy of a 2MB file from a samba server to a linux client
running smbclient takes over 5 minutes.
SCPing the same file takes seconds.
The server is running samba version 3.0.25c with kernel 2.6.16.18.
I've put up a set

Newbie would like some planning advice.
My wife and daughter, and to lesser extent myself and my daughters
boyfriend would like a communications system which allowed us to talk
to each other, both on a one on one basis, but also occassionally in
conference. My wife and I live in a house with an internal LAN with
each of us with a desktop machine (hers in Windows XP, mine runs Linux)
and a Linux server acting as firewall and NAT

OH323 doesnt hear ringing
I have Asterisk running with a combination of SIP and H323 clients. I am using the OH323 module instead of the H323 one.
When the SIP clients ring each other, they can hear a ringing noise in the ear peice to let them know that the other parties phone is ringing. However, when the H323 client rings a SIP client, there is no ringing sound at all, although as soon as the called party picks up the

Local voice feedback
In a new asterisk installation, we are having difficulty with a users
own voice being either too loud to themselves or distorting in their
ear peice. The far end voice sounds fine from both sides, but the
asterisk user is distracted by their own voice.
This is the same for hard phones on Digium FXS ports as well as SIP
phones on GS ATA-286's.
I am not sure if this is the much talked about
