X101P stopped working. Newbie seeks help
Hi I received the Asterisk Dev Kit Lite on Saturday and got a small PBX working fairly quickly using the config files supplied with the kit. This was on my desktop machine and the sound card stopped working. I turned the system off and moved the sound card to another slot to give it a different IRQ. On reboot, the modules zaptel, wcfxo, and wcusb all load OK and asterisk starts OK but there

Unavailable/Withheld identification
Hi, I'm in the process of switching over to Asterisk from Alchemy kit and have hit a stumbling block. We're in the UK and use ISDN. At the moment we don't accept calls from withheld numbers (we just play them a message), but do accept calls from unavailable numbers. There doesn't seem to be any way for me to differentiate between the two number types in Asterisk (chan_CAPI) -

SIP channel unavailable/busy/really not there
Is there a way to differentiate between a SIP address which hasn't registered (but is within sip.conf) and one that's not there at all (i.e. not in sip.conf) using a straight dialplan. I'd like to differentiate actions depending the state of a SIP device and whether it's in my config or not (if that makes sense, basic automap of dial-in lines to sip phones, but if they've

[cfe-dev] When to use '-mcpu' versus '-march'
Thanks very much Eric for taking the time to carefully explain this to me. So if I am the author of the backend for a new processor technology, or willing to modernise my existing implementation, you would recommend that the ‘-mcpu’ option is deprecated and probably best not used at all, or perhaps just as a synonym for ‘-march + -mtune’? The first part of the target triple guides the

[cfe-dev] When to use '-mcpu' versus '-march'
Thanks Eric, After the original reply to my query I had a good look at the GCC documentation for these options, and what I discovered is that “there is no consensus” in GCC. Basically, saying do what GCC does was a non-answer as it clarified nothing. X86 has deprecated ‘-mcpu’ in favour of ‘-mtune’, and it uses ‘-mtune’ to mean that the scheduling, etc. should be biased in favour of more

/proc info on X100P's, zapata.conf
I just installed two new X100P's today in my RH7.3 box and was poking around /proc What does the RED refer to on board 2? /proc/zaptel/1 Span 1: WCFXO/0 "Wildcard X101P Board 1" 1 WCFXO/0/0 /proc/zaptel/2 Span 2: WCFXO/1 "Wildcard X101P Board 2" RED 2 WCFXO/1/0 Any clues on how to setup channels on the two interfaces?? I am up to here in

RSA versus DSA / Protocol 1 versus Protocol 2
I have been searching the archives and confused about some points that I am hoping could be cleared up. RSA versus DSA I seem to see a lot of messages saying this. That DSA is slow. DSA was added only to avoid a patent which is now expired. RSA is the preferred authentification method. DSA should be avoided. Which all sounds fine to me and I think I agree with that. Assuming this applies

Problem with extensions and when channel is unavailable
Hello I used to have an extension like this which worked fine with asterisk 1.0.7 I first dial to see if an IAX phone is present, if not I would try on SIP instead exten=s,1,Dial(IAX2/iax${ARG3},20,tr) ; 20sec timeout exten=s,2,Goto(s-${DIALSTATUS},1) ; Default action exten=s,200,DBget(temp=CFBS/${ARG1}) ; Get CFBS key, if not existing, goto 301

Private Key Unavailable After Domain Password Change
Hi All! We are currently running one AD DC on 4.11.12 and one on 4.10.17 (scheduled for replacement later this month). Sometimes when a user changes their domain password, we are seeing an issue where the private key is no longer available. Users on Windows 10 v1909 or v2004. This does not happen to all users. We have users connecting to one of our environments using OpenVPN. We have been using

stepAIC: plot predicted versus observed
Hi, stepAIC generic plot function creates useful graphics for the diagnosis of multiple regressions. To create predicted versus observed plots, I use to look for the coefficients, copy them by hand, calculate R?, then plot. Is there a more automated way to plot predicted versus observed with its associated R? output using stepAIC, or another function? Kind regards, S.-?. Parent Universit?

Call completion/error codes and extensions.conf call flow
There was a conversation last night on the IRC channel between myself, Corydon76, citats, and kram on the ability of a call process to access the error (or success?) codes underlying a call. I'm uncertain if anything came out of it, but I'll re-hash here to solicit other comments. My idea: I'd like to be able to get to error codes when a call passes through some kind of action

cifs.ko kernel module versus smb.conf - which SMB protocol version?
Hello guys, could someone help me better understand the mechanism of negotiating of the SMB protocol? I watch closely samba list and recently there was a talk about the 'smb.conf' parameters like eg. "max protocol =" etc. with regards to Windows 10 (and other windows clients of diff versions). I read Jeff_Layton-Linux-CIFS-Client.pdf and

plot each column of a matrix or dataframe versus x in a single plot
How do a plot several columns of a matrix at once in a single plot versus a single x-variable? The default plot.matrix or plot.dataframe commands plot each column versus each other column in several sub-plots. I want to plot each column versus a single other vector (x) as several lines or points in one plot. I can do it by hand: get the range of all variables (i.e. columns of the matrix or

Active X versus Java, Linux versus NT
Having recently read about the lack of security of Active X controls, I was wondering if I could get some specifics about its lack of security versus the security of JAVA. Also about the security of JAVA under Linux. I understand that MS''s concept of security is a) investigate the vendor, b) issue a certificate of authority, 3) vendor is now trused to do anything (fox guarding the hen

Voicemail forwarding from SER & extensions.conf
I have SER running with Asterisk, both on seperate servers. If I call another SIP number from my SIP phone SER looks up the phone number to see if it's online. If it's not online it forwards the call to Asterisk. How do I configure the extensions.conf file so that calls being forwarded to Asterisk destined for VoiceMail do not conflict with normal outbound calls destined for the PSTN?

ring no answer / RONA versus HangUp
Hello List: I'm working on a funny scenario, where I'm bouncing calls from a Cisco call center into asterisk. Cisco call center has some logic that if a customer calls in, an agent is logged into a given extension... if Cisco sends a customer call to that extension, and there is a ring with no answer after a preset amount of time, Cisco concludes the agent is unavailable, kicks the agent

Using existing extensions.conf macros, and co-habitation
I'm trying to set up my extensions.conf file using some of the existing macros like stdexten, etc. while at the same time having two logically separate virtual PBX's (with no "default" context) and two trunks coming into separate contexts, i.e. one for residence and one for my at-home business. I noticed, however, that macro-stdexten depends on the "default" context:

X101P interface (asterisk newbie)
To all: I am researching the feasibility of replacing our current PBX (ATT Partner Plus) with an * PBX. I have purchased an X101P card and I have * running of a FC2 machine. The X101P is connected to an extension on our current PBX. Many archives exists regarding X101P cards but I just need some guidance. First the X101P did not detect a ring, so I found an email where someone
