Asterisk + Cisco 7920 + chan_sccp or chan_skinny
Greetings,
I have seen a few postings in the past regarding the interop of Asterisk and
the Cisco 7920 WiFi phone. To date, I have not seen a definitive method to
getting the phone working. Assuming someone has this actually working, can
that person step up and answer these questions.
1) What Channel is it working with (chan_skinny or chan_sccp)?
2) If code was used that is not a part of a

Chan_SCCP vs. Chan_Skinny
Lacy's response in the thread 'Why does
everyone seem to dislike *now?', has a small
bit that caught my eye.
Chan_Skinny made a lot of progress between 1.2 and
1.4, and even more in the later 1.4.X releases.
I am curious as to which features/functions that
chan_skinny might be lacking compared to chan_sccp.
We (the community) now have a small, but active,

chan_skinny issue
Hey all, I have set up my cisco 30vip using chan_skinny because
chan_sccp wont register. The problem I am having is, everytime a call
is sent to the phone Skinny/200@jason it rings once, then asterisk
segfaults.
heres the output
-- Executing Answer("SIP/4437821638-7588", "") in new stack
-- Executing Dial("SIP/4437821638-7588",

file_inlcude .. why not?
Don't know if this has been addressed, but why isn't there a
file_include style directive for extensions.conf?
I find that my extensions.conf grows a lot, and it would be a lot nicer
to have a tree of files rather than one big file to try and navigate.
Also, I've got a couple different 'systems' running concurrently on one
asterisk box (ie, completely different groups of

Softkeys wrong with chan_skinny
Hi,
as noone out there seems to be able to maintain chan_sccp, i'm trying to
switch to chan_skinny. With the newest 1.4 svn the Softkeys are mostly
wrong/non functional. I see
Redial NewCall CFwdAll more
(more)
CFwdBu... GPickUp Confrn more
NewCall works, CFwdAll seems to toggle DnD, the rest of the buttons do
notting.
Any ideas how to fix this?

chan_sccp new release
http://chan-sccp.berlios.de/
20050713 ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/chan-sccp/chan_sccp-20050713.tar.bz2
I didn't have a spare 7960 to use this week, so maybe some line issue is
still present.
- fixed a memory leak on database updates (dnd, cfwd*)
- fixed old memory leak on unload (now unload chan_sccp.so and load
chan_sccp.so work. It does reload the config when asterisk is running)
- socket

asterisk & chan_sccp
ive got asterisk running with chan_sccp and three cisco phones (2 7910's and 1
7960). lots of bugs. when i press the speed dial button on either 7910,
asterisk dies. also, if i dial from the 7910 to 7910, everything works fine.
i can dial from or to the 7960 once, and then one of the 10's and the 60 die
and try to reregister.
if i take the 7960 out of the mix and remove its

SCCP problem with ATA188, Asterisk@home and chan_sccp
Hi,
This is a message I already posted on the chan_sccp mailing list, but since this list has a lot of active members, I'm hoping someone might be able to help (And my problem is * related, so I guess it's ok if I post it here also ;) ).
I'm trying to get SCCP ATA188s to run with Asterisk.
The Asterisk box uses the latest Asterisk@Home image (Version 2.6).
I have compiled and

Possible chan_skinny problems - no ringtone, no moh and no queue messages
We're using Cisco phones running skinny protocol.
When I call other extensions I don't get a ringtone, although the remote end
does ring and when answered we get clear two way audio.
When I call a queue from a skinny phone then I don't hear the announcements.
Likewise we don't hear music on hold on these phones, although we can see
mpg123 in the process list and ls -l the fd

SCCP questions
Hi!
I have two, not too related questions:
- the probably simpler one: if anyone can help me out using a Cisco
7905G with chan_sccp? I did already managed to get it working with a SIP
image, I'd just like to see it work with this one as well. It's probably
something I screw up with the configuration, as the phone registers,
only I don't get any lines with it, although I have it

skinny or sccp?
Hi, please tell me,
is original skinny support in Asterisk stil under development or is better to try chan_sccp from
http://chan-sccp.sourceforge.net ?
my first try was unsuccessfull (chan_sccp compile OK, but module loading fail during Asterisk startup)
and my phone (C7940) seems to be not supported in original chan_skinny :(

chan_skinny & XML Files for 7920
Hi,
I have a Cisco 7920 that I'm trying to get working with my * box. When the
phone boots it requests XMLDefault.cnf.xml and SEP<MACADDRESSHERE>.cnf. I
assume I set the line number, etc in the latter of the two. However I
cannot find any reference to how this file is structured. Anyone know?
I assume this is why I'm getting the errors below:

NAT + iConnectHere Broken in 1.0RC1
I've been using * CVS code from May of this year and was able to connect
to iConnectHere and receive calls with * being behind NAT. Now that
I've upgraded to 1.0 RC1, this no longer works.
I've tried setting nat=yes in places, externip, et al with no success ..
even though the code I was running from back then worked without that.
Any suggestions?
BTW, I've gotten DTMF from

Newbie 2 PBX VOIP, protocol ?'s using Cisco 827 7910
I am replacing a dead pbx with *. There are four lines I will be using.
There is a Cisco 827-4v already in place so I will move the lines from
the pbx to it.
I am working with Cisco 7910 phones and I understand they use the
Skinny/SCCP protocol. I am not sure if I should use chan_skinny or
chan_sccp?
However my main question is with communication. Do I need to use the
same protocol between the

chan-sccp problem, phone is not registering
Hi list!
I'm trying to configure the Kirk IP 600 wireless (DECT) system. The
wireless phones are regular DECT phones, the Kirk IP 600 is doing the voip
part by registering/gatewaying the phones to a callmanager server.
The phones do not work and I think the problem is that they do not
register at asterisk but I'm not sure because I don't understand a thing
of the sccp/skinny

DLink mgcp phone and CVS HEAD
Hi,
I'm playing around with Asterisk and DPH-100M (Dlink mgcp phone) on my
debian box. I've got stable version of Asterisk (packaged for debian)
working with dlink phone and 7910 from cisco (minimalistic
extensions.conf and chan_skinny for 7910) Everything works fine.
Now I'm trying to get CVS HEAD working with MGCP. I want to test

Cisco 7961 + 7914, speeddials, BLF & Asterisk 1.4?
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience with a Cisco 7961 + 7914 Operator
Console setup and speeddials/BLF on Asterisk 1.4? Would appreciate
feedback if this works reliably. I have a 7961 on skinny registering on
an 1.4.19 box with chan_sccp and speeddials work fine so that part seems
ok. I have no experience with the BLF part.
>From googling around it seems that BLF on the 7914 only works with
