Another small suggestion patch
It's nice to be able to define the list of asterisk modules we want to load from the /etc/sysconfig/zaptel file rather than directly in /etc/init.d/zaptel. I'm using nufone and don't require anything but the ztdummy (is the rtc-based module better, anyone?), so that's what I've put here. These are based on zaptel-1.0-RC1. FC3 + udev + Asterisk v1.0.3 - Temporary Fix
I haven't seen anybody so far post a complex fix for the udev problems on FC3 with the latest kernel. On that note, I have a temporary fix to allow zaptel to load somewhat normally. I found that modifying the zaptel script to 1) load, unload, then load the driver modules and 2) insert a pause between modules seems to allow things to work. This assumes you have followed the instructions

LAPACK Headers
Hey Everyone, I'm running R 2.4.0 on Debian etch 4.0, and I'm trying to call some LAPACK functions from the C code in my package. Actually, to be honest I'm not really having trouble using commands such as La_dgesv from within my C code, but I do get warning when compiling the package saying: ***.c: In function '***': ***.c:37: warning: implicit declaration of function

Zaptel modules load, but Asterisk fails at startup
I'm running Asterisk on a Gentoo box with the Zaptel 1.2.1 drivers. If I boot the machine without having the wcfxs module autoload, then install the module with modprobe, asterisk works just fine. If I boot the machine and autoload the wcfxs module, the module loads fine: > Jan 11 11:06:55 asterisk Zapata Telephony Interface Registered on major 196 > Jan 11 11:06:55 asterisk ACPI: PCI

zttranscode crashes server
I was just looking to see if anyone else has seen this problem as well. When asterisk starts up it loads the zttranscode module. The problem exist when I use the init scripts to stop asterisk and then use the zaptel init script to unload modules. Since the zaptel init script didn't load the zttranscode module it will error out when trying to unload the modules. I built

patch to support custom HTTP headers in download.file() and url()
The patch below adds support for custom HTTP headers in download.file() and url(). My main motivation for this is performing basic http authentication. Some web sites do not support embedding the credentials into the URI itself, they only work if the username and password are sent in the HTTP headers. In fact specifying the username and password in the URI has been

Zaptel 'Under the Hood' Project
Hello, After poking and prodding at Asterisk and Zaptel for over a couple years now, I've dedicated some time to actually reading the code and trying to figure it out. It's been fascinating. With the driver source on one part of the screen and a pdf of "Linux Device Drivers" on another part I've aquainted myself with device driver programming and the interesting

Newbie alert: Cannot get voicemail to answer (have scoured the web for help)
I'm having a bit of a problem here: I have a * box with a fritz isdn card (running capi 2.0 and chan_capi) and a x100p card for testing purposes. As a proof of concept, I wanted to be able to dial into the * using the isdn line, listen to a message, and enter a 3 digit extension number. If this happens, I wanted the * box to dial out using the x100p card, into our PBX (Nortel Meridian). If

IP-PSTN / PSTN-IP Gateway Service Providers
We manage our own VOIP solution using Asterisk. Has anyone had success with an IP-PSTN provider? I'm looking for someone to terminate SIP calls to the PSTN in the Seattle, Washington area. (vice-versa as well if possible) Yes, I could do it myself via asterisk and digium cards but I would like to consider other options. Any opinions? Thanks, Chad -------------- next part
