A software FAX modem
Hi all, I would like to announce the availability of an initial test version of a totally software FAX facility, suitable for use with Asterisk. This is a first public test release, so don't expect a solid polished product just yet. People have shown interest in what I am doing, and here is the evidence that it is not vapourware. If the notion of a software FAX machine is new to you,

External fax modem takeover of fxo?
Given all the issues with the fax DSP code and reliability, I'm looking into the option of using an external fax modem instead of trying to shoehorn asterisk into handling faxes properly... I'm thinking of hooking up the faxmodem to the line directly, then hooking the X100P to the modem's Phone port. Can I enable fax detection and use the fax extension to spawn an external command

"Double" transfer?
I'm not sure what to call what I want to do; I'm not sure how to do it; I'm not sure it can even be done. . . . I have googled and read the docs, but can't find anything close to this: I have an asterisk box with an X100P that is attached to a PBX line. What we want to do is to have the PBX attendant, after having taken a call for someone who isn't in the office, be able

Virtual extension as local modem
Hi, There is any possibility to define a virtual extension on the asterisk box to act as a local modem? This is the scenario I think of: - call Asterisk from PSTN throug the X100P card. - answer the call and prompt the user with a menu. - dial a special extension (long number) where you get a data modem type answer and connect. I want to enable a RAS server on te same box, using a single PSTN

Which modem is known to work with asterisk?
Hi! I want to connect my asterisk system to the PSTN. Now I'm thinking about using an analog modem as FXO device. Which modems do run? How is the voice quality? (I looked into the wiki, but on <http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk%20hardware> no regular modems were mentioned. Or should I use a special FXO-card? I don't want to spend 99$ for such a thing but

prob. w/ data (modem) calls through Asterisk
I'm having major problems routing a modem (data) call through my Asterisk box. I've got a single incoming POTS line through my X100P, and a few extensions (and modems) plugged into the ports on my TDM400P. I've been using the system for a few weeks for voice applications and everything is working pretty well in that area. But just recently I was trying to place a data call on

Sharing an outside line between a modem and a TDM400
I have an analog modem and a TDM31B and one outside line. I want to use the modem to dial out on demand for a PPP network connection and also use the outside line with the TDM31B. I am willing to have the modem work at 28.8Kbps. I want a lock of some sort so that voice calls do not break in on data calls and vice versa. My first thought was to have the modem connected to the TDM31B and have

Software FAX Modem--One Last Request For Help
Here's one last plea for help from the list before I give up on the totally cool software FAX modem concept in complete despair (for now, at least, until I have more time to dig into it).... I am simply not able to successfully receive a FAX no matter what device I transmit from or how I bring the call into Asterisk. My lastest effort was a call from a Pitney-Bowes FAX machine into an X100P

[PATCH] [QEMU-DM] Modem control line & msl/mcr register support
This patch enables handling of the modem/flow control lines of a serial port when the backend for the virtual port is a physical serial port. During initialization, it tries to load the msr with the detected status from the real port (this is consistent with physical uart, which starts with its msr values set according to the status of the modem status lines). If the ioctl returns -ENOTSUP, then

How to Flash() a modem line
Hello! I'd like to Flash() a modem line (BRI) with Asterisk. It is a passive ISDN-card connected to a hardware PBX. I use ISDN4Linux. I recognised that unfortunately the Flash() application flashes Zap devices only. Now I am wondering how I could flash Modem/ttyI0. The source code chan_modem.c doesn't contain anything about flashing a modem line. So I tried to simply put the AT-command

Multi-line TTS Outbound Dialer
Hello, I've been lurking around the mailing list and browsing around on Asterisk-related links while I wait for my X100P to come in the mail. So far I haven't found very much information related to what I want to do with Asterisk. I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of any work that may already have been done on a project similar to the one I'm trying to

Asterisk with a laptop with built-in Intel 537 modem
I have * working on my Sony Vaio PCG-FX120 laptop. I am trying to get * to recognize my internal PCI Intel modem as an FXO port. I have modified wcfxo.c in order to identify the PCI modem properly. Based on output from dmesg, wcfxo didn't recognize the modem until I inserted the proper vendor and device IDs into wcfxo.c and re-compiled. Note that the error message from "modprobe

modem to modem calls through asterisk
Modem connect speeds on calls through * seem to be lower than calls made through the telephone company lines or our old Rolm PBX. All data calls have 2 wire analog modems on both ends. For my set up I have channels of a Zhone channel bank tied to 2 modems. The Zhone channel bank interfaces my * server with a T400P card. modem --- Zhone Channel bank - * via T400P card - Zhone channel bank -

Hello, I have X100P card but exten => _9X.,1,Dial(Zap/1/${EXTEN:1}) does not work. no voicemail on pstn line
Hello List. I am having problems retreiving voicemails on my system. I noticed when someone leaves a message through the pstn line I can't hear anything. I tested leaving a message from one of the extensions and that can be heard. I don't know if is the type of card I'm using for analog ( cheap X100p modem ) calls but, can't hear any message coming in from that line. Any
