SIP/ Grandstream Issues
I just got a grandstream SIP phone Here is my sip.conf for the phone [mlh] type=friend insecure=yes username=mlh secret=mlh host=dynamic canreinvite=no The phone as the default config on it. If I use the phone to call a Zap interface (a tdm card) the voice sounds all choppy. If I use the phone to call a x100p card, it does not dial what I dial (no DTMF) I don't know

wishlist: function mlh.mlm to test multivariate linear hypotheses of the form: LBT'=0 (PR#8680)
Full_Name: Yves Rosseel Version: 2.2.1 OS: Submission from: (NULL) (157.193.116.152) The code below sketches a possible implementation of a function 'mlh.mlm' which I think would be a good complement to the 'anova.mlm' function in the stats package. It tests a single linear hypothesis of the form H_0: LBT'= 0 where B is the matrix of regression coefficients; L is a matrix

Manova and contrasts
Hi R-users I'm trying to do multivariate analysis of variance of a experiment with 3 treatments, 2 variables and 5 replicates. The procedure adopted in SAS is as follow, but I'm having difficulty in to implement the contrasts for comparison of all treatments in R. I have already read manuals and other materials about manova in R, but nothing about specific contrasts were found in them,

auth to two diff PDCs? (success, sort of)
With a single server, settings "security = server" and "password server = pdc1 pdc2', I can successfully authenticate against two entirely different PDCs depending on which order I put the two machines in the 'password server' list. Is there someway of forcing clients from either domain to authenticate against the 'right' pdc, regardless of the order in the

Problem in getting tftp transfer to succeed
Setup: Server: Mac OS X Server which serves dhcp and tftp requests client: Acer with PXE boot agent 4.0.19 file to transfer: -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 10988 Apr 12 13:50 pxelinux.0 The default tftpd daemon doesn't support the tsize option (I think, look at the packet trace at the end, it reports the file isn't found, but I think this is because of tsize ... but I could be

system error 64, win xp and samba
Just so that it gets into the archives for future googlers: If you get 'system error 64' on a windows xp machine trying to connect to samba, then make sure you have nothing running on port 445. I had an apache ssl instance running on that port. Doh! Had to scratch my head a bit over it. XP doesn't actually need anything to be on 445, it just gets confused and gives up if there is.

.net port
All, I wrote a port of rsync to c# / .net. If there is interest in this, I'd be happy to make the code available. The current code will send synchronize with a linux rsync server, and can run in daemon mode on windows (I've made even a windows service wrapper for it). It's far from clean, and far from perfect, but it works and can be a good starting point. Please let me know,

locking .. smb locks and unix locks
I posted a question earlier (below) regarding two instances of samba on the same machine. Unfortuneately my question only elicited questions. Can anyone tell me whether samba locks and Unix locks pay well together? Will samba notice unix locks aaaaand vice versa? I _did_ look at the documentation but I think it was very out of date. (e.g. UNIX-SMB.txt in samba 2.2.3 says that "Unix has

Samba performance
Hi all. I know this has probably been asked before, but I need a quick answer, and didn't find anything on the net. Has anyone done any benchmark comparisons of server speed from Win95 clients, accessing files on a Samba 1.9.17p1 server share, as compared to an NT Server, running on the same server hardware? If so, how did Samba 1.9.17 measure up to the NT server? I need an answer to this,

Does * machine need a sound board for MOH?
Does anyone know whether the linux machine running * have to have a sound card on it in order for musiconhold to work for sip phones? I've tried about everything (including tons of google searching) to get it to work, and nothing. When a call is placed on hold between two C7960's, the CLI indicates: -- Executing Dial("SIP/3002-c418", "SIP/3000|20") in new stack

A Hardware Observation (and Thank You To John Pierce)
A few days ago, John Pierce made a comment about Intel network cards and that they are more reliable and a better overall card than most. (This is not exactly what he said, but rather I am paraphrasing) My small cluster of servers all had generic PCI nics in them (I was not using any onboard NICS). Today, I replaced the NICS with Intel Pro 1000 PCI-E NICS and replaces our small 5 port TP-Link GB

Problem with call pickup -or- what stupid mistake have I made?
For some reason, I can't get call pickup to work between Sip phones or between Sip and Zap phones. All phones are in the same call group and pickup group (1). The source code was downloaded and built as of today 11/15/03. Here's what's in sip.conf: [general] port=5060 bindaddr=192.168.17.2 tos=lowdelay disallow=all allow=ulaw context=aliens ; ; SIP Entry for sipura line 1 ; This
