Purchasing Grandstream Phones
Does anyone know of any reliable supplier for Grandstream phones? I tried dealing with David Li from Grandstream, but after emailing him an order in August, and asking how he wanted payment, I never got a reply... James Ho from DGTimes was happy to give me pricing, but when I sent him an email asking for shipping costs, I never got a reply... I tried dealing with John from Chagres Ventures, but

Call Rate in CDR
So what do people think about adding the "call rate" to the CDR structure?? This would allow you to detail a call with the rate that was in affect for that call. When you come back later and do the billing for the customer you would have the actual per min rate in the record. I think this solves an issue when you have changing rates and multiple providers. If one provider is down,

John Brown from Chagres
Some people have been airing dirty laundry on this person, so I thought I'd air some clean laundry! John, Thank you so much for answering my email so quickly, and I also got your voicemail. And thank you for shipping on the same day I ordered. Without these phones, there's no way I would be able to get this demo done! Thanks again, David Gomillion

LAN switches with PoE? PoE phones?
Hi all, I'm looking for recommendations on ethernet switches for a new install. Ideally would want switches with at least 24 ports, ideally with a GE uplink, and that support PoE (power over ethernet) on every port. I've seen lots of switches, and lots of "power hubs", but the combination, which makes a lot of sense, seems rare. What is out there? Do the switches need to be

Pass-thru port on X100P Clone
I am using 2 X100P clone cards in my asterisk system, and have one phone line plugged into the 'line' port of each card. On one of the cards, I also have a cable plugged into the 'phone' port and this cable is then connected to the modem on my PC so that I can use it for dial-up. I thought that this would then allow me to do dial-up and at the same time it would lock the port so

The connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost:901
I am quite new to Linux, and just trying to do some simple things like get my Linux and windows boxes talking to each other. I have installed Samba 3.0.6 on Red Hat 9 on a Intel P3 box. I installed RH without the boxed version of Samba, removed the components it installed anyway (samba-client and samba-common), and then downloaded the source code from Samba.org. I went through the Samba

initial review of Grandstream HT-286 ATA device
Hi List, Just received a HT-286 Analog Telephone Adapter. This device is allows the user to take a standard analog telephone set and connect it to a VoIP/SIP based gateway. A low cost way of having PSTN devices make use of VoIP/SIP services. For example you could take a credit card processing machine and punch it into a location where you have broad band access. You could take a FAX
