"why is there such a delay in getting ipv6 rolled out when it solves all these problems ?"
===
There are many reasons...
1. Leasing Address Space from the I* society (small s...aka the Big Lie Society) is not desirable by all people...
2. The IPv6 Privacy Problem...that is especially important in the area of computer

Help with failing Nut slave/client connection
Or just set up sane firewall rules to allow the two to talk, but block external traffic. I have run this way for years - all add'rs ar IANA in a subnet block, and just that block is open locally, and all other external IP's severely restricted, and NUT works great . . .

RFC-to-be: <draft-walleij-ogg-mediatype-08.txt> (fwd)
The transport type application/ogg may now be used in applications. The
IANA has assigned it in their namespace, so start adding it at will.

Update on sshfp 4
The IANA has pre-allocated id 4 for ed25519.
If waiting on the IANA were a reason to delay applying the
SSHFP_KEY_ED25519 patch, it needn't be any longer.
I've proposed un-reserving hash type 0 to be a "NULL hash",
for those who'd rather publish the public key unhashed. Even
if zero for unhashed fails to gain traction, I hope to see
something allocated for that.

Help with failing Nut slave/client connection
Tough to get a spoofed IP to actually route back to it's host though, so
other than those unfortunate to be on a flat network, still not too much
of an issue . . .

[RFC, PATCH] core/pxe: Add architecture-specific discovery request for PXE config file
Currently, the TFTP configuration file discovery process will request a

Channel Mapping Family for Ambisonics
Hello Tim and others,
Thanks for your help explaining this process on IRC. I wrote out a
first draft in the RFC xml format. I have attached the xml (labeled as
xml.txt so it will appear inline) and the rendered txt files. Please
let me know where I can make improvements. I will upload this draft to
the IETF datatracker and send it out to codec@ after addressing your
comments.

[PATCH]: contrib/cygwin/ssh-host-config
Hi,
below is a patch to contrib/cygwin/ssh-host-config and the corresponding
README in the same dir. It adds a `--port' option to the config script
to allow setting another port than 22 for sshd.
Additionally the script used to add `sshd 22/tcp' to the services file
while the IANA proposes `ssh 22/tcp' and `ssh 22/udp' as services entries.
The new version removes old `sshd'

Ed25519 keys in SSHFP RRs
Hello.
Subramanian Moonesamy has gotten the ball rolling to include Ed25519 in
IANA's registry for SSHFP key types [1].
I've opened a bug report [2] that includes a patch that adds the needed
support code and provisionally assigns Ed25519 a value of 4 (values
1,2,3 reserved for RSA, DSA, and ECDA, respectively) [3].
The enhancement request/bug is meant to keep the issue on the radar.

New to list -- glennrp
Hello, speexers.
I'm new to the list and new to audio compression. I've been asked to
look into creating a digital archive of 20-minute speeches (sermons)
and speex seems to be what I need.
My experience is in image compression; I shepherded gzip, deflate, zlib,
and png through the IETF process, put "image/png" through
the IANA registration process, and I maintain several

IANA Reserved Addresses Tool
Andy Wiggin has contribued a Python program that reads
http://www.iana.org/assignments/ipv4-address-space and creates a list of
reserved subnets suitable for inclusion in /etc/shorewall/rfc1918. The
list produced by Andy''s program will be included in the rfc1918 file
included in version 1.3.2 (it''s available now from CVS).
Thanks Andy!

Confusion regarding cpu-arch values for EFI ByteCode and 64-bit
This document:
http://www.iana.org/assignments/dhcpv6-parameters/dhcpv6-parameters.xml
Has the same (plus expanded) list of cpu arch values for parameter 0x93.
This list matches RFC 4578 except for values 7 and 9 which are EFI ByteCode
and x86-64.
Turns out RFC 4578 is wrong
https://www.rfc-editor.org/errata_search.php?rfc=4578
And 00:07 *is* the correct value for 64-bit x86 clients and the

Greetings,
I am using R version 2.11.1 on a Dell computer, via a VMware connection to a remote server. My browser version is IE 8.0.6001.18702 and the OS is some corporate version of Microsoft XP.
I'm trying to learn more about the tapply function , so I typed ?tapply into the command line. This opened up a browser window with url http://127.0.0.1:28138/library/base/html/tapply.html which is

r1000 Driver
I'd like to add a page for the Realtek r1000 NIC driver for the RTL8110SC (and
others) chipset. This driver is not included in the kernel. I've previously
posted to the general mail list:
http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos/2007-February/075383.html
I'm guessing this would go in the HardwareList section. Otherwise a page
titled 'Realtek r1000 Driver' would work.
